Finally got around to Batman and Son. I'm really enjoying it. There's a piece in here called The Clown at Midnight, and it's all a part in setting up Joker's new personality and look. It's written wonderfully. There are only a few pictures strewn about the pages, because it's all pretty much text. And it's written with a very dark, maniacal tone. It's fantastic.

The part from Batman and Son with Joker is 'Batman #663", so if you're interested, you could track that down if you don't want the whole book. Honestly, it might be my favorite Joker story I've ever read. It's weird though, and I could see how other readers might not like it. I loved it though. It's just so dark and, for lack of a better term, insane.
I've read a few opinions on it, bashing it, because it's more of a novel than a comic and the art is CGI-ish, but whatever. It's a chance to take The Joker in a whole new direction, and I hope to see it happen.

Stupid comic books, I was gonna pace myself, buy a couple volumes every once in a while of Y the last man, I finished my first two volumes after I bought them...the I bought three more volumes....today I just plopped down 70 bucks for the last 5 volumes I needed....
Well there we go. I'm done. I was quite satisfied with the way it ended. Felt like that's how it should have finished up.
I felt a kind of depressing feeling when it ended. Not because I didn't like the ending, because I thought it was fantastic. It was just a downer to see Yorick and Beth, after everything Yorick went through to find her, didn't work out. Also, 355 getting shot, and poor Ampersand dying. It was a series of downers. I really enjoyed it though.
