How is this only going to be an hour? It's going to only be highlights...

Wait, only highlights even of the TNA Talent matches? Bull ****! I would assume it's only high lights. There's what 4-5 matches with TNA Talent there's no way all of them would fit into an hour.

On January 4, the stars of Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling are traveling to Japan to face the stars of New Japan Pro Wrestling at a huge event at the famous Tokyo Dome. Led by Olympic Gold Medalist and current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle, TNA is set to unleash the beast in the "Land of the Rising Sun" as a team of its superstars set off to declare "Global Warning!" on New Japan Pro Wrestling. Angle, who is New Japan's IWGP World Champion, is set to defend both titles against New Japan Pro Wrestling superstar Yuji Nagata. This is a rare opportunity for American fans to not only witness the top wrestling talent from Japan in action on SpikeTV, but to see them compete against the superstars of Total Nonstop Action! Other TNA vs. New Japan bouts set to take place at the January 4 event in Tokyo include: TNA's Steiner Brothers vs. IWGP Tag Team Champions Tomko & Giant Bernard TNA's Abyss vs. New Japan's Manabu Nakanishi TNA's Team 3D vs. New Japan's Toru Yano & Togi Makabe TNA's Christian Cage, AJ Styles & Petey Williams vs. New Japan's Minoru, Prince Devitt and Milano Collection AT Don't miss the TNA vs. New Japan "Global iMPACT!" special on SpikeTV on Thursday, January 17! ...Wow. They are really trying to ignore the fact that Angle isn't the real champion.

I'm surprised to hear they will actually air some of this. I still believe that a majority of people will have zero idea about who any of the japanese wrestlers are. I know I won't but it will be a nice learning experience and who cares if they don't know who they are, this show might open people's eyes to a new world of wrestling... You say it like it's a bad thing even though it's not -_-

Awesome! I always wondered what Japanese wrestling would be like if it was total nonstop action.

Better idea, screw TNA's show that week and air the full matches. Highlights blow.

Those matches are prob reaaal long and wouldn't fit on a spike time schedule.

You would need at least a three hour block to fit everything in.

You would need at least a three hour block to fit everything in. If it was just the TNA matches, 2 hours, including commericals would be fine. I really don't enjoy highlights of good matches. Thinking about it, by the time this airs, I'll have probably already seen it.

They are really trying to ignore the fact that Angle isn't the real champion. Not only that, but if the match is for both of Angle's belts, then he's not losing...which means that the winner of the Tanahashi/Nakamura match won't be unifying the belts.

That could be just an error by the TNA website. Angle has no chance of beating Nagata. Unless Nagata somehow breaks his ankle getting into the ring Angle has no shot. New Japan will win all of the title matches and TNA will win the others.

Watch Yuji Nagata wins the TNA title and doesn't come to defend it. NJPW holds TNA to their mistake.

That would be pretty funny if Nagata ended up winning, but Angle keeps the TNA belt. How would TNA explain that?

They would say that TNA didn't allow Angle to defend the belt. One simple statement would take care of that.

Highlight show or not, it's refreshing to see something like this even making TV.
Stuff like this is what made me love late 80's early 90's WCW so much.
They'd main event their PPV's with Japanese talent vs WCW champions.
TNA had a good streak of bringing in foreign talent a few years ago and then seemed to give up on it once they started bringing in all of the WWE rejects.

Those matches are prob reaaal long and wouldn't fit on a spike time schedule. ...Are you kidding me? Look at the matches the TNA guys are involved in: 1. THIS IS WAR! ~NONSTOP RISING~: Milano Collection AT, Minoru & Prince Devitt vs. Christian Cage TNA Wrestling, AJ Styles TNA Wrestling & Petey Williams TNA Wrestling - will go probably 10 minutes 2. IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title: Wataru Inoue (c) vs. Christopher Daniels TNA Wrestling 15 at the most 3. Japanese Muscle Monster vs. The American Monster: Manabu Nakanishi vs. Abyss TNA Wrestling - Under 10 5. GET THE TABLE! GET THE HIGHEST! - Hardcore Match: Togi Makabe & Toru Yano vs. "Team 3D" Brother Ray TNA Wrestling & Brother Devon TNA Wrestling - 12-15 minutes 8. IWGP Tag Team Title: Giant Bernard & Travis Tomko (c) vs. Rick Steiner TNA Wrestling & Scott Steiner TNA Wrestling - 15 minutes 9. Final Resolution~REAL vs. Justice~IWGP 3rd Belt: Kurt Angle TNA Wrestling (c) vs. Yuji Nagata - 20 minutes or more There's not one potentially long match there, except Nagata/Angle, which will be shown in full. The only other matches that you'll see on Global iMPACT will be the Jr. Title and Tag Title matches, and they'll be clipped.
