Well I am delayed in my response to these protos because I was trying to form the words and couldn't. A couple weeks ago I said Jakks including the masks with the killer bees made up for their next 10 mistakes. Well here we go all 10. Sure didn't take you guys long.
1. No Detail on Gonzales
2. No Detail on Road to WM Jeff Hardy arm bands
3. No ridiculous purse decals on RA 33 Rey Mysterio (I personally didn't like it, but many collectors were pissed)
4. Eddie Mask (I know the reasons)
5. Tatanka Torso
6. DA The Tazzzzzzzz singlet
7. Dynamite Kid scan (Looks more like Clive Owen or Craig Bierko)
8. Ron Simmons skin tone (perhaps he was a little tanner when he lived in GA full time)
9. CS20 Rock= CS19 Rock the Sequel
10. LJN Cena 'nuff said.
Honorable Mention: Those wack knee and ankle joints on Hornswoggle, those better be shaved off before retail.

Hmm Sandman looks quite good IMO
Cena has to be one of the worst figures ever, regardless of it being LJN
Mysterrio isnt too bad

Set looks ok to me for all you complaining about the Rock i'm sure they didn't have proto ready for the Rock it's not going to be a rerelease from CS 19 and others complaining about Mysterio then go out a buy one of thousand other figures!
Ric Flair- looks good i know he's going to come with a green robe Might get depending on MOC image
Ron Simmons- looks freaking awesome Definite Buy
Rock- like i said it's not going to be a rerelease waiting for MOC pic
Dynamite- looks good one of those figs i been waiting Definite Buy
Tony Atlas- looks good looks just like him I might buy it
Sandman - looks good but i'll Pass
Mysterio- looks like an old school Mysterio Pass

Here's my two cents:
DYNAMITE KID
PROS:
• The boots are excellent and very accurate
• I like the torso choice
• I like the attire choice
• Right color knee pads
CONS:
• Tights are completely the wrong shade, should be darker
• I'm not a big fan of the headscan, it holds very little resemblance to dynamite. The shape of the head shouldn't be as long, dynamites head was much rounder. The nose looks to be completely wrong and should be smaller. The eyes are the right shape but look too big and the mouth looks wrong. The eyebrows are also too dark.
• The tights seem to be lacking the world "Bulldog" down the side
• I would have liked to see the striped tubesocks sticking out above the boots.
I was looking forward to this figure the most, i'm not sure if i will get it anymore, its really going to depend on whether any of the above grievances are fixed. I'm honestly disappointed in the way the proto turned out but i'll wait to see the final product to make my decision.
RIC FLAIR:
PROS:
• I love the attire choice
CONS:
• I don't like the arm choice, Flair was pretty built in the arms and these arms just dont do this era of Flair justice.
• No Robe as of right now.
• I would have liked to see the same torso that was used on outlaw Ron Bass instead
• I don't like the head scan, its the same one we have gotten twice already in the CS line and doesn't fit the era correctly.
I'm undecided on this figure as well, i'll have to see if they fix some of my grievances and if he comes with a robe or not. Somewhat disappointed with this proto.
JOHN CENA : I don't buy the LJN inspired figs so no comment.
REY MYSTERIO JR.
PROS:
• The torso choice is good.
• Arm choice is good.
CONS:
• I dont dig the reused head scan. A closed mouth would had been much better.
• I hate the attire choice, out of all the great early attire choices they have chosen we get this one. I wish we would had gotten one of this attires with the question marks all over them.
I'm passing on this figure, i already have the BOWCW one so really there is no need to buy this one. I was looking forward to this figure too, very disappointing.
THE ROCK
Pros:
• It was a great figure in CS19
Cons:
• Its the same figure we got last series
Unless we get a completely different figure i will not be purchasing this. I already have the CS19 Rock. Disappointing.
RON SIMMONS
PROS:
• I love the attire choice.
• Headscan looks pretty good
• Love the RS on the side of the boots
• Logo on the tights looks accurate and is nice
CONS:
• I hope we get a removable blue headband with him.
• The tights need to be a gradient, the top should be a lighter blue that blends in a darker blue.
• Where are his black arm bands???
I'll probably end up getting this figure but i'm waiting on to see what the final product looks like.
SANDMAN
Pros:
• I like the attire choice.
• Shoes are accurate
Cons:
• Head scan doesn't work for this era. Would it had been too much trouble to mold a small mullet on?
• As said already the pants look great but aren't the right kind, mankinds sweat pants would have been a better choice
• Hate the shirt, maybe a cloth shirt would had been better.
• Terrible torso choice
• Wrong arms choice
I was really forward to this figure too and its a huge let down. I guess my ecw1 Sandman will suit me just fine unless they make some serious changes here. If he doesnt come with a beer can and a cane then its going to be even more pathetic. Lame.
TONY ATLUS
PROS:
• Head scan looks great
• Like the attire choice, it goes great with the rocky johnson we already got
• Torso choice is great.
I wont be getting this figure though, i was never a tony atlas fan.
All in all i'm only probably getting one figure from this set and its Ron Simmons. This is a very poor set as it stands now. More time needs to be put into research and development on these things. Once again my wallet gets another break on a sub-par set. I would be embarrassed if i was jakks showing protos of products like these. I've got many more things i'll spend my cash on instead.

cena is a waste of a figure, but i actually kinda like sandman, hopefully he comes with a cane

Dynamite are all screwed up...Dynamite was never that jacked. You're kidding right? Dynamite was pretty much always jacked Yeah, he was muscular but he wasn't a freakin' heavy-weight and as PJ already said, the ripped CW torso would work best. |

Eh, it's an alright set I guess. I laughed like crazy when I saw Sandman's t-shirt. Come on, JAKKS, you can do better than that!
I'll probably get Rey, Simmons, Sandman, Dynamite, and Atlas.

Decent set. Will definitely pick up Mysterio and Sandman. Maybe Flair and Rock (since I passed on CS19).

ok, so I like The Sandman, great fig, will def. get it, also Mysterio, and I might be interrested in Simmons and Dynamite Kid ... maybe even Flair if he comes with some nice robe ... and yeah, we got a new worst fig - John Cena ...

The only difference in CS19 Rock and CS20 is the height of the hair. This set sucks.

He was huge here but anyway. * Sandman- It looks good... i think that size is good for the time period, he was pretty thin for a while. * Tony Atlas- Nearly perfect, it looks just like him * The Rock-meh * Ron Simmons- I wouldn't have gone with the blue pants... but it looks amazing. * Dynamite Kid- Near perfect, though it needs socks showing. Though I would have went with a different outfit for a single figure, and used that one for a tag set. * Rey Mysterio- not bad, but i would have painted it differently * Ric Flair- that's one of my favorite trunk/boot combos he had... I hope they make the green robe. * John Cena (LJN Style)- meh |
