I had the pleasure off attending TNA's house show on Sunday in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Cincinnati Gardens. The venue which holds about 10,000 people was cut off at the center and none of the upper decks were used. I do not have an official attendance number but I was told it was in the range of 1,500 or so.
The crowd was hot all night and management was really impressed. There is some serious thought being given into running a PPV in the same building in 2009. The venue while in very nice condition has been around for over 50 years and I am told that TNA got a very good deal on using it since most major events in the area are now held at the US Bank Arena. WWE has not held an event at the Cincinnati Gardens since 2001.
The members of Team Japan who were originally scheduled for the show did not make it. Milano Collection AT did get his visa issues worked out and as of Sunday was expected to be a part of Tuesday's tapings in Orlando. The final member of the team Taishi Ishikari is still have issues. He is booked for Victory Road but I am told that other arrangements are beind made just incase he misses the show. The same can also be said for a couple of members of Team Mexico. Two of them were at last night's tapings but the other two are having issues as well. I was told by a few of the workers that this whole thing was done totally last minute and has not been thought out very well at all.
As for the other talents who missed the show, I am told that Kurt Angle was simply sent home and that Sonjay Dutt is having some problems with his shoulder again and they decided to rest him.
And finally, as of Sunday Moose aka Mickie Knuckles was scheduled to sign a contract with TNA as of last night but I have not gotten word yet on if that has happened. I was also told that Spike wants TNA to sign 3-5 more females soon and the talk is back on concerning an all Knockouts show on Saturday nights. TNA is intrested in a number of ladies including Josie and Sarenna Deeb who worked the Awesome Kong fan challenges at Slammiversary.
