- Tito Santana says in his new book that Bret Hart was only ''a decent worker''. He also claims that Vince McMahon almost made him WWE Champion in 1992 but gave the title to Bret instead because he has a ton of charisma.

Anybody who says Bret Hart is anything but an amazing worker is truly on something.

I guess I'm "on something" then. I don't see the huge appeal about Bret.

I guess I'm "on something" then. I don't see the huge appeal about Bret. It's all down to opinion. Personally I think Bret was the best wrestler the WWE will ever see. He wasn't the best on the mic and cutting promo's though, that would have to be the Rock. Because of his not so good promo skills people see Bret as boring. Really it is just down to what you like as an entertainer. I watch the WWE to see wrestling skills and be entertained by the actaul wrestling. Other people will tune in to see story lines etc. I can see both sides of the arguement though, but at the end of the day Bret is one of the hardest workers in wrestling history. Even Vince states that on the Hitmans DVD.

I can't wait until people come in here bashing Tito Santana and saying he's nowhere near as good as Bret when in actuality Tito had everything Bret did as far as ability goes, he was just never given the stage that Bret was to show his stuff.

To me, Bret Hart was one of the best of all-time. I have no idea how anyone could possibly argue that fact. Look at his matches with Mr. Perfect, Stone Cold Steve Austin, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and his brother Owen Hart, they are some of the best ever.
Back then, if you wanted to see a quality match, look no further than Bret Hart. He certainly provided enough of them, to say the least.

I laugh at Tito's comment about possibly Vince giving him the strap in 1992. Tito, at that time known as El Matador, was a jobber.

I'd definitely agree with a mid-carder for sure, but a jobber?? No way. Barry Horowitz. Now there's a jobber. But yeah, Tito Santana was a tremendous wrestler back in the day. His feud with Greg "The Hammer" Valentine was legendary. Matter of fact, Tito was so good, I'd say he was one of the best "sellers" of all-time. He always made you believe he was in excrutiating pain all the time. Or at least he made me a believer when I was a kid.

I am a fan of both these guys. But I think Tito has it backwards, Tito was an "excellent hand" as JR would say, but Bret Hart is rarefied air. And Tito has to realize that maybe Vince was telling him that just to make Tito feel good about having to play "El Matador". I know I would.

Bret did the same exact thing for years. He only had great matches with few guys and he always was moderate to me. Even in his earlier years he didn't seem all great.

I disagree about Bret only being decent, but Tito was still awesome and deserved the strap, and was much more charismatic than Bret.

He was boring on the mic, but amazing in the ring. Basically what the first few people above me said.

Anyone who thinks Bret ever had a ton of charisma is crazy. I've always thought Bret was over rated as a worker. I would rate him an above average guy who could work with anyone on the roster and pretty much any style. Guys like Bret are the heart and soul of any wrestling fed generally. They're solid guys who can put on a good match but not always championship material. I can definitely see why they put the strap on Bret though and rightfully so. I just don't find him the best ring worker the WWE has ever seen.

I bought Bret Harts dvd and his only good matches were against Michaels and his only other good matches were against Owen. The greatest anything doesn't apply too Bret. Other then greatest backstabber. Tito Santana deserved it more.

Have you seen his match with Bulldog, his matches with Hennig, his tag matches against Davey and Dynamite Kid, his matches with The Undertaker and Stone Cold, or how about his match with Piper.

I don't think Tito was ever close to being WWE champion. Nice guy though.

It's from his new book. Tito is just trying to stir some crapup to get attention. Nobody is going to buy his book.
