It's from his new book. Tito is just trying to stir some **** up to get attention. Nobody is going to buy his book. that sounds like that the truth Tito was a good worker but not world champion material

I guess I'm "on something" then. I don't see the huge appeal about Bret. I really have to agree. Shawn Michaels was way better than Bret Hart ever was. Shawn had the charisma and the talent to put on great matches in any environment and with anyone. Bret had little charisma and only put on decent technical matches with a few good brawls here and there. Bret couldn't put on a decent performance with everyone in the ring, unlike Shawn who honestly could have had a classic match with a paper bag.

Decent in the ring? A ton of charisma? lol try the other way around. Yeah, I think Tito might have done one too many Flying Jalapenos. Has it totally backwards. He probably thinks Khali is good on the mic but too small to make it in the WWE.

I seriously doubt 'El Matador' was set to win the WWF title in 1992. Not that it matters anyway, since it never happened and Tito's just trying to gain interest in his book that most don't care about.
Bret Hart is one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation and many before and after him. You can hate him for his cockiness or self-promoting attitude, but you can't deny that the man was gifted in the ring and one of the best technicians that American professional wrestling has ever seen. Also, I don't know why topics about Hart always turn into comparisons with Michaels, but both have completely different styles and were/are both talented in their own right.
If I was to compare, though, Hart overall was the better worker in his prime whereas Michaels has always been the better entertainer of the two of them.

My ass Tito was going to be champion, I don't even think he was winning matches at that point in his career.

The only thing I disagree with regarding Tito's statement is that Bret had charisma.

Bah humbug. Tito's just mad about the comments that Hart made about him in his book. Bret said something about not wanting to end up like Tito, a good worker but going no where. Something to that effect.
Looking back, I totally side with Rick Martel for dumping that dead weight, Chico Santana. Go Martel! And jeez, someone never gets over anything. Watching all the Royal Rumbles recently, Tito always goes right after Martel. Even 4 years after the Strike Force split. Talk about living in the past.
Tito? World champ? I dunno about that. That's like having Jim Powers as the Intercontinental champ. And the Orient Express as tag champs. (Not that I have a problem with the Express at all, in fact I think they're pretty rad, but let's face it, I don't think they ever won a match that was against any named teams. Maybe the Bushwhackers through dubious means though. That sneaky Fuji. Wait, what are we talking about?)

I don't know how anyone can doubt Bret's greatness, at least in the ring.
He has had so many amazing, classic matches that it is difficult to even attempt to count them all and he had amazing matches with guys who couldn't even work too.

iN 1992? I doubt it. Imagine... " AND NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW WORLD WRESTLING FEDERATION HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! EL MATADOR! Doesn't have a good ring to it. - Tito Santana says in his new book that Bret Hart was only ''a decent worker''. He also claims that Vince McMahon almost made him WWE Champion in 1992 but gave the title to Bret instead because he has a ton of charisma. Gerweck.net Anybody who says Bret Hart is anything but an amazing worker is truly on something.

No matter what the subject. The thread could be about dogs, socks they wear, cars driven etc etc. Mention Bret or Shawn for whatever reason and it's on. This thread is a perfect example.

when i first read the topic i thought pre hogan. meaning tito was gonna be champion in the time right before hogan vs. sheik. because tito was one of sheiks defences and i thought maybe he was booked to win the belt then. 1992? i just cant see that ever happening.

I could have seen Tito getting the strap in the early 80s, but not the early 90s...
He was amazing, but by the time Hulkamania hit, there was just no room fro him a the top...
That's why WWE in the 80s was so great though, even most of the lower card guys could rightfully have been world title contenders.

1. bret hart (other than dynamite kid imo) is the greatest wrestler the wwf ever saw 2. to say he was only a decent worker, and to say his charisma outshined his mat work, is pretty ![](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wfcensored.gif) ing intellectually- disabled.

I think it's funny that people can't like both.
Bret Hart is my favorite wrestler.
Shawn Michaels is 2nd.
I'll defend Bret till the end, but I don't feel the need to go into random HBK threads and start singing his praises.
GROW THE F*** UP!!!
Bret Hart did more than get screwed by HBK, he had an entire illustrious career that had nothing to do with that.

I bought Bret Harts dvd and his only good matches were against Michaels and his only other good matches were against Owen. The greatest anything doesn't apply too Bret. Other then greatest backstabber. Tito Santana deserved it more. Greatest backstabber?! WTF are you on? How do you reach that award for him? I hate to ask, but who do like to watch in the ring? I mean if Bret's matches against Hennig, HBK, Bulldog, Owen, and Austin don't grab you, I would bet you're not watching WWE for the wrestling. I'm, a big Bret Hart fan, but even I will admit, he never had a lot of charisma or mic skills. He was decent on it, but not the likes of Flair & Piper. ANyway, Mr Old School, yeah I jumped the gun a bit in callign Tito a jobber in 1992. He definitely was a mid-carder and wasn't going any higher. He could've main evented back int he mid-80's when he was a bigger threat to the World Title.
