Wait until the movie is unpopular, and then ask them if they don't want it. Then take it. If they don't ever call or let you have it, barge in the movie theatre and ruin the movie by yelling out spoilers, always works

He wants theater posters, not movie store posters, there's a difference. Any I've got were from Ebay and my brother worked at our college movie theater.

Like this? I work at a movie theatre and its actually hard to get them. I got this one cause all of my friends hall a bet on who'd win Liddell Ortiz 2 and I won. I was stoked cause usually the damn managers take them and sell em on eBay to make their own money.

I work at a cinema aswell, but for me it's not hard at all to get posters. I've already put my name down for The X Files 2 poster. Usually with the ones that haven't been nabbed in advance they just put them in a box in the staff room. Picked up a Gone Baby Gone poster the other week.
I've had customers ask for stuff before, we just ask them to write a letter to the cinema asking for what they want. If nobody has their name down for it already it's their's.
Or just try Ebay. I got an Assassination of Jesse James one from there.

Unless you know someone who does or you work at a theater your best bet is either ebay or Craigslist.
If the poster you want is from a new movie coming out your best bet is to get it while it's hot, ebay usually has floods of movie posters for upcoming stuff, so it shouldn't be too hard to get something at a good price.
My suggestion is make a friend that works at a theater. That's how I got a few trailers, posters, and the big ass grindhouse standee.

My local theater gives posters for free. That's why it's good to be me.

eBay is your best bet. I see them up on there, 24/7.

I have two. One is the Casino Royale teaser poster that I won from one of FilmShowing.net's contests.
The other I don't really have yet. It's in a bookstore, but my girlfriend works there and has it claimed for me. It's a glossy double-sided Dark Knight poster. The one of the burning building.
I'd love to have more though. I'm just not motivated enough to search the entire for decent priced ones, or even eBay them.

It helps if you know someone that works at the theater. I have a friend who can occasionally put in for a poster if I ask her for it far enough in advance.
eBay is also a great place. I got the official Cloverfield poster, double-sided, still with Paramount shrink wrap on it for about $12 shipped.
