THis might be a little difficult to explain, but what was the most "indy" moment for you at a show. The moment where you realized that it was truly an indy promotion. I've had quite a few during my first 3 years of ring announcing
- "We dont have a flag so please rise for the national anthem"
- One night we forgot the bell so i had to go "ding ding ding"
- The bottom rope broke TWICE in 2 months, and we continued the show with a 2 roped ring
- On 2 seperate occassions, the wireless mic stopped working so i had to yell my intros
- Double gimmicking up to wazoo, we'd take an already existing roster member, slap a mask and diffrent gear on him and call him something else. I guess he thought the fans were THAT STUPID not to notice
What about you guys?

I guess he thought the fans were THAT STUPID not to notice We did something similiar except we used to have a couple of masked wrestlers and we'd take the masks of them and use them as referees. We also had a wrestler double book our show with another so he flaked out on theirs to come to ours but to "hide" the fact he did this, he stuck a Psicosis mask on and gave himself a Mexican sounding name and spoke with a terrible Spanish accent. Worst. Disguise. Ever. Other memorable things... - I don't think we ever had a proper ring bell so we would use numerous items to replicate it, my favourite being banging a monkey wrench against the metal leg of the table we were sat at. - At some point we lost one of the bolts for the hook that holds the ring ropes in the corner posts so we tied it to the ring post with some bright blue rope. - We did an angle where a wrestler was reading from a wrestling rulebook over something he had been slighted over. This was in fact a diary of some kind and our camera guy zoomed in to show he was "reading" from a blank book. Never did find out if it that was edited out or if it made it onto the tape. Theres probably more but thats all i can remember. Been a while since those days.

Yes, the leg of the table and a wrench = ring bell.
I worked a show that did that.
Other common stuff like the mic breaking and announcers having to shout, ropes sagging throughout the night, common indy stuff.
funniest indy thing ive seen was at AWS apparentely, the cd player broke so the owner of the store/resident of the store/arena, busted out his records and it was VINYL NIGHT! pretty cool as most guys came out to random class rock and stuff off Piledriver.
Then in the main Dino Winwood SANG Karl Anderson, Cholo, and Scorpio Skyes musics. Skye came out to the hardyz theme and was acting like Jeff, it was hillarious.

One of the first indy shows I ever went to, they had to use pots and pans and a wooden spoon for the ring bell.

There being 23 people for a Top-Rope show in Nashville...
6-9 of them were there to see someone their related to wrestle..
4 of them friends with/related to Gangster..
I went bascially to see Gangster also..
So that leaves about 8 people that actually came to see the show....

On DVD, from CHIKARA's final show of 2007, "Stephen Colbert > Bill O'Reilly", right before the start of The Colony Vs. The Order of the Neo Solar Temple, Bryce Remsburg calling for the bell, realising there is no bell, he says "ring the... staircase".

I'm guessing you mean live events, not just seeing any show (live or taped).
In a positive sense it might be the ability to approach guys in ROH, or any Indy, really easily. That or the chair riot I seen at my first ROH show Ring of Homicide.
In a negative sense.... my trip to Boston, Roxbury to be specific, and while the show was great.. (Honor Nation) You definitely knew how small of a crowd it was in front of just based on where you were sitting. Pretty lame considering how not lame the show was.

Bryce offered me his shirt and said if I thought I could do a better job, I should step into the ring. As I walked forward he said oh wait.......they dont make referee size shirts for guys the size of the Michelin man. I was hurt.

The most indy moment was sadly enough at a XPW show that I went to where GQ Money actually got one of the loudest pops of the night and I sat there wondering... why.. and dear god this is indy.
