I'm not really the type for long written threads, but this seems right for this situation.
After I watched The Rocks DVD, I noticed something that really brought a tear to my eye. I was too young to appreciate my favorite wrestler of all time. I mean like seriously, everybody who owns the DVD can most likely agree with me that Disk 2 was when Rock was at his best. And that time frame was from Mid 1999 - Early 2002. I was born in late 1993, so during that era, I was 6-9 years old. You cant really appreciate somebody at that age now can you? I mean sure, you can be a huge fan. Cheer for them, buy merchandise, dress up as them, and other things. But do you really remember EVERY detail on their career? For instance, The Rock Vs Mankind in the Last Man Standing match. I had no memory of that match, so I was eagar to watch it. One thing that stood out in the match was when The Rock swung the chair at Mankind and Mankind ducked, causing the chair to hit the ropes only to whip back into Rocks face. Do I remember the match? No. Do I remember the chair shot? Yes. Pretty sad isn't it?
Even though I could say forever and ever, The Rock was my favorite of all time, I can't really back it up for any reason except he was the biggest face at that time. I truly wish I was in my teens during the Rock's prime, just so I could have appreciated him more.
You see how everybody completely bashes John Cena? Saying all these kids are the one's screaming for him, buying merchandise, and all of that other stuff. Well yeah. Those kids are young and he is the biggest face being presented to them, just like The Rock was to me.
Another thing going through my mind is the constant bashing of somebody's favorite superstar. To be on this forums, you have to be 13+ years of age, so this is the best time to be watching these guys. You can appreciate your favorite superstar more then you would if you were younger. So who the hell are you to be bashing somebody for the superstar that they choose to like? I'm a huge Jeff Hardy fan and constantly getting bashed. I could only imagine me being this age and watching The Rock at his best, but I cant live it unfortunately. So why do people have to be such idiots and bash somebody for who they choose to like? Seriously, think about it. As I said before, these are the best years to be watching wrestling, it shouldn't matter who you like, Jeff Hardy, Triple H, John Cena, Batista, and all of those other guys being constantly bashed. They are just trying to enjoy their favorite superstar, so why should you try and stop them?
But I just want to close this thread on more importantly, The trail-blazing, eyebrow-raising, Jabroni-beating, pie-eating, heart-stopping, elbow-dropping People's Champ, The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment, The Great One, The Rock. At the end of the 3rd Disk, there is a video package that looks like it should be his Hall of Fame video. It would take any real fan by the heart and possibly bring a tear to your eye.
