Johnny Ace reportedly has expressed interest in bringing back former WWF Light Heavyweight Championship Essa Rios to World Wrestling Entertainment. He is probably best remembered for bringing Amy "Lita" Dumas into WWE because if you recall, she was originally his manager.
Rios was originally brought into the company in 1997. He wrestled TAKA Michinoku at WrestleMania XIV for the Light Heavyweight Championship, but lost. He was later repackaged as Essa Rios, capturing the WWF Light Heavyweight title from Gillberg in his first match under the gimmick in February 2000. Lita was split from Rios to manage the Hardy Boyz. While Lita & The Hardys were taking off, Ríos lapsed into obscurity for the remainder of his WWE career. He wrestled his final match for the organization in August 2001, and parted ways soon after.
Rios made a comeback to the United States in 2004 as part of Team AAA/Mexico for TNA.
Rios currently wrestles as a masked wrestler under the name Mr. Aguila in the CMLL promotion in Mexico.
I alwasy liked Rios, I hope they do bring him back and pt him on ECW in a feud with Super Crazy, that would be insane.

Essa Rios on ECW would be awesome. More than likely that would be the only show he would get TV time on.

That would be great, I was always a fan of Essa in WWE back in 2000. But the thing is, he looks a like he's put on a lot of weight. But still I think he would do great espeically on the ECW roster.

Yesssssssssssssssss!
I have a tattoo of the frickin guy on my arm. Im a pretty big fan. I was so stoked when he was on Team Mexico in 04. I dont get CMLL so i havent seen him in a while.
He and Viscera were my first two favs in wrestling, so him coming back would be awesome for me.
He was the king of Jakked/Metal.

HAHAHAHA!! Sorry but that was funny after reading all the post before this one and then the thread ending (well at the time) with this post. Read above for who he is and try and search for him on youtube. Here you go: Essa Rios v. Samoa Joe w/The Coach and Michael Hayes doing commentary on the XFL.

Brilliant. Let's bring in more and more cruiserweights with no title to compete for.

From wrestlingattitude.com:
With Rey Mysterio now on the RAW brand, WWE is looking to bring in more lucha libre talent to SmackDown and ECW. Aside from the company looking at former WWE superstar Essa Rios (as Daniel reported earlier), they are also interested in a wrestler known as Damien 666

I bet you money he is fat now and can hardly do half the stuff he did before they always end up like that Not too bad. WWE had Dos Caras Jr. in for a try out on July 1st. According to a Mexican sports magazine he's considering their offer. He doesn't do a lot of high flying though, he's a mat wrestler and was on the Mexican national team for 5 years. He's pretty big muscle wise, I could see why WWE may like him.

I always liked Essa Rios in the Light Heavyweight division, but once Lita started gaining her own fanbase, it seemed like Rios became an afterthought in the company.
WWE could hire a hell of a lot worse wrestlers than him, so why not go after talent that still could contribute to whatever brand he's on?
