Why do some wear shorts, with long socks?.. They look ridiculous, IMO.. They look like they should be reffing a football (soccer) match, dressed like that..

Slick is the only one who does it. He's been basically begging TNA to let him be a character, and back when he first started wearing the shorts, they let him be somewhat of an actual element in that manner. But he's a referee, and in general, referees are supposed to be virtually invisible.
If Slick wants to be a character, then he has to not be a ref.
