We have an exclusive backstage story on Sting and TNA. Back in October when Sting won the TNA World Title he wanted to keep the belt so he could lose it to Samoa Joe at Turning Point and then retire, but TNA obviously didn't go with this plan. Dixie Carter was a major advocate of keeping Sting in TNA.
Sting is open to losing to younger wrestlers. He was upset when he found out that Christopher Daniels would be jobbing to him in under 10 minutes at Slammiversary and he wanted to put him over. He reportedly talks to a lot of young wrestlers backstage, more so than other top guys like Kurt Angle. TNA's creative department are the ones who have repeatedly wanted Sting to go over, he wants to pass the torch to the younger wrestlers, contrary to popular belief.

Sting's one of the rare one's that actually will help and give up his spot for the younger guys...
