In October of 2007, a new age began in Ohio professional wrestling. With the platform of national television at their doorstep, a roster of young, hungry, and capable athletes set out on a course to prove themselves. A course to begin carving their legacy, forging their reputations, and solidifying their abilities.
Through the next eight months, great sacrifices were made. Blood was shed, bodies were hurt, wills were damaged but did not break. All with the goal to reach the pinnacle of their profession, the height of their careers, and inch their way closer to the next level. On August 3, they will arrive.
Sunday afternoon, August 3 at the Plain Dealer Pavilion in Cleveland, Ohio, the best athletes in the region converge for PWO’s ultimate proving ground. Nearly one year of hostility, resentment, aggression, and hatred will be unleashed. It is a night of closure. A night of finality. A night for the most vital questions to be addressed and answered. Who is the Most Dominant Man in PWO? Who are the true kings of Cleveland Ladder Matches? Who has the drive to stand up to one of wrestling’s most heralded legends and survive? And who will achieve the ultimate prize of being called the first-ever PWO Champion?
August 3, the bad blood and ill-will reaches its culmination. The hatred and contempt can be contained no more. For these great athletes, it is time to not only rise to the next level, but surpass it. Some will stand triumphant, some will fall, some will achieve their dreams, carve their legacy, forge their reputations, and solidify their abilities for years to come, but all will meet their Wrestlelution.
CURRENT CARD:
Main Event
To Determine First EVER PWO Champion:
“M-Dogg 20” Matt Cross vs. Josh Prohibition
A love/hate rivalry that stretches back nearly ten years and has intensified over the past ten months. Since PWO’s inception, Prohibition has done everything in his power to steal the spotlight from his former tag team partner, putting Matt Cross out of action on a number of occasions. When Josh qualified for PWO’s first ever Heavyweight Title match, officials dropped the bombshell that Prohibition’s opponent had been pre-selected. M-Dogg 20 is coming back, with vengeance in mind and gold in his sights. The competitive rivalry over who is more skilled, who truly carried their tag team, and who is quite simply better finally ends as M-Dogg 20 vs. Josh Prohibition reaches its final chapter, with its highest stakes yet.
Who Is The Most Dominant Man in PWO?
$5,000 vs. 5 Minutes with Maguire
Jason Bane vs. “The Indestructible” Cronus w/ Agent Aaron Maguire
Jason Bane, at 6’8” and over 300 lbs. has spent years as Cleveland’s premiere wrecking machine. However once 6’3” 275 lb. Cronus was recruited by greedy and maniacal Aaron Maguire, Cronus gained the focus, intensity, and maliciousness he lacked in years prior. After ten months of each man claiming dominance over the other, they finally meet August 3. Aaron Maguire’s attempts of delaying the match with restraining orders and unreasonable contract demands were only momentarily successful. If Cronus wins, Aaron Maguire receives $5000 of Bane’s money. If Bane wins, he gets 5 minutes alone in the ring with Aaron Maguire. Will Jason Bane finally get his hands Maguire, who for months has challenged his credibility and integrity. Or will Cronus prove to be the better man, and make his manager richer? And most importantly… who IS the Most Dominant Man in PWO?
Re-live the chaotic Bane/Cronus contract signing:
Last Man Standing Match
Johnny Gargano vs. Gregory Iron
Gregory Iron’s first match back from a career threatening concussion saw the upset of a lifetime as the undersized inspirational cerebral palsy survivor defeated the cocky, privileged, and highly-touted prodigy Johnny Gargano. This win boosted Iron’s confidence, and career to new heights, and after a life of hardship and misery, it seemed Iron was finally truly happy. In a jealous and bitter rage, Gargano set out to destroy all that Iron had worked for, perpetrating a savage assault that left Greg with a second life-threatening concussion. After three months of rehab and recovery, Iron returned, vowing retribution. After signing a legal waiver to return to the ring, Iron challenged Gargano to a match so brutal, the only way to win is to leave your opponent unable to answer a ten count - Last Man Standing. Johnny Gargano promises to finish the job he started and rid the wrestling world of the supposed “freak”. Gregory Iron promises to make Gargano feel the same pain Iron himself had felt all his life, and unleash 21 years of rage and hostility all in one life-altering moment. The most emotional rivalry in professional wrestling today climaxes on August 3, a rivalry that may see the end of a career, and will see only one man left standing.
Re-live Gargano’s barbaric assault on Iron:
Ladder Match
First Ever PWO Tag Team Titles:
Matthew Justice & Morty Rackem vs. Jake Crist & Vincent Nothing vs. Virus & Virus Grande
This past April, Pirate Justice (Morty Rackem & Matthew Justice) and V-Squared (Virus & Virus Grande) took each other to the limit in a grueling high-flying adrenaline-fueled Ladder Match, as Rackem & Justice prevailed in a match that many say raised the bar for Ladder Matches in Ohio. One man who disagreed was Vincent Nothing, claiming the efforts of the other two teams came nowhere close to Nothing’s past Ladder match triumphs. After an encounter with one-half of Irish Airborne, Jake Crist, who was also a part of Nothing’s classic Ladder Match, Nothing & Crist joined forces to defend their legacy. August 3, six fearless risk-takers, and six innovative combatants collide in one ring for one prize: the newly-created PWO Tag Team Title. Who truly are the kings of Cleveland Ladder Matches? Who can truly raise the bar higher and push their bodies farther than anyone else? This Ladder Match WILL raise the bar for Ladder Matches in Ohio… but who will be responsible for it? That team will leave triumphant and as champions.
Greg “The Hammer” Valentine vs. Mike Tolar
“Superstar” Mike Tolar, a natural athlete who has succeeded in every avenue he has explored. His high school and collegiate athletic success helped propel him to success in professional wrestling, and also helped propel his ego to unbearable heights. Fed up with not receiving the “hero’s welcome” he feels he deserves, Tolar issued an open challenge to anyone in professional wrestling to battle him at Wrestlelution. The call was answered by former WWE Intercontinental and World Tag Team Champion and Hall of Fame inductee Greg “The Hammer” Valentine! A timeless veteran of countless mat wars, The Hammer brings an experience level and ring savvy second to none. Will The Hammer teach Tolar a lesson in true mat mastery or will Tolar amateur acumen to defeat a true legend of the sport?
King Kong Bundy vs. Benjamin Boone
Known as the “Master of the 5-Count”, King Kong Bundy is one of the most feared and intimidating forces in wrestling history. Oftentimes called the “Walking Condominium”, Bundy would flatten opponents with his dreaded Avalanche splash, a move that helped catapult him to international superstardom. Bundy has main-evented WrestleMania, and held the record for shortest match in WrestleMania history, a record that wasn’t broken until earlier this year. Has young Benjamin Boone bitten off more than he can chew by challenging Bundy in order to make an impact on PWO’s grandest stage? Or can the rookie shock the world and defeat a legend?
Ten Man Elimination Tag Match
Team Clash vs. Team Hobo Joe featuring “One-Legged Wonder” Zach Gowen
The Clash, Ernie Ballz and Brian Bender, have had it out for PWO’s cult hero Hobo Joe and his protégé Bobby Beverly for months, blaming the two for the failure of The Clash’s short-lived Rock Show segment. When PWO officials chose to end this issue in a unique way: a ten-man elimination tag match, both sides began to recruit partners, but Team Hobo had a unique surprise: joining them on their team would be professional wrestling’s most awe-inspiring athlete, wrestling’s only one-legged wrestler Zach Gowen! Will The Clash be able to avenge their ill-fated talk show? Or will the “Dumpster Dweller” and “One-Legged Wonder” prove to be a winning combination?
Kiss My Butt Match
“DeeeLicious” Jimmy DeMarco vs. “Megastar” Marion Fontaine w/Macho Grosh
Ever since the two crossed paths some months ago, the “Prime Minister of Perversion” Jimmy DeMarco has gone out of his way to ruin the career of Marion Fontaine, from squirting baby oil in his eyes to attempting to steal his manager Macho Grosh, to sneaking into the building dressed in drag to attack him! After a particularly unusual DeMarco stunt involving crossdressing, seduction, and a marriage proposal, Fontaine had finally had enough, and challenged DeMarco to any match he wanted. The depraved DeMarco chose the creepiest stipulation possible: a “Kiss My Butt” match. Which one of these athletes will be forced to pucker up and commit the ultimate act of embarrassment in public? And how will Jimmy DeMarco react to it?
Womens Match:
Ashley Lane vs.
Since her debut in PWO, Ashley Lane has been a force to be reckoned with, regardless of who her opponent is, or even their gender! Lane has issued an open challenge to any woman to face her at Wrestlelution. Who will answer the challenge? Will anyone be able to stop Ashley Lane or will her win streak continue?
Plus: A Special LIVE Musical Performance From “This Fires Embrace”
Columbus-based rock band “This Fires Embrace” have been the artist behind the official PWO Theme Song since PWO’s inception. August 3, the band will be there LIVE for the first time, performing the PWO Theme, along with a number of their other hits, and meeting and greeting with fans as well. It will be a unique experience August 3 as the rock & wrestling connection lives with Wrestlelution!
