Well yeah those close falls are a way to build him up as a top opponent and make fans believe in him. I'm so confident that he is next in line as his push is similar to that of Aries in 2004 before he won the title at Final Battle from Joe.
I see many similarities to that push in what ROH is doing with Black. The only thing that may interfere with my prediction is the current PPV storyline between Dragon and Nigel but I have a feeling Nigel will end up pulling the win out in that one too.
