Ok. Need help deciding on a present for my 8 year old. Well, the "big" present rather. His birthday is in a month and I'm torn on his main gift. Originally i had planned on getting him the RSR Hell in a Cell, some DA's he's missing and the Lego Batman game for his Wii. Then...I just read they are dropping the price of the XBox 360 to 199.99 in September.
We already have a 360 in the living room but he loves playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero, Ninja Gaiden, Lego Indiana Jones & SvR '07 & '08. Thing is, he has Guitar Hero, Indiana Jones & SVR '08 on his Wii. Way I figure, we have my 360 & PS3 in the living room and I figured if I get him his own 360 we can move the Wii in there as well. I think by trading in his Indiana Jones, GH3 & SVR '08, we should get decent value to go towards his XBox. Thing is, in doing so I skip out on the Cell, which I really wanted to get him.
I figured one for Christmas, one for his birthday. If we get the Xbox now, I can still get good trade amounts for his games, I get my 360 back full time BUT I run the risk of not finding the Cell come Christmas time. But I'd also be able to get Lego Batman on the 360 only as it was a game I was interested in too.
On the other hand, if we go with the Cell for his birthday, the Cell is easier to find now, but for Xmas, his games may not get as much trade value AND the 360 may be harder to find w/ that price drop during the holidays.
Either way, I'd pick up about 8-10 DA figs he's missing as I've gotten Y2J, new Finlay, new Kennedy, & Miz already.
So....what would you guys do in my position? Money isn't a factor but at the same time, I don't like to waste it if I don't have to. And yes, he's responsible enough for a 360, his Wii is still in perfect shape and the games are flawless so I'm trusting him on this.
