With the recent talk of whether or not ROH should get a TV deal I was thinking whether or not RVD would work in ROH.
He's still a big name and recognizable star so it would help attract at least some casual fans to the product. Now granted RVD lost the respect of some fans during the drug arrest while he was WWE Champion in Summer 2006, there are still many fans that enjoy his work and are willing to yell as loud as possible when he performs.
ROH may end up being a good fit for him, if they can afford him of course. Ring of Honor has not been afraid in the past to let the rules slide a bit so a hardcore wrestler like RVD could fit the mold in certain gimmick matches as well.
I think TV deal or no TV deal it would help ROH and RVD equally to do business together at some point, what do you guys think. Should ROH attempt to sign RVD? Full time? Appearance here and there? Or just one night only event.

Rob Van Dam isn't as good as he was from 1997-2002 but I'd still be all for him coming to ROH either for one last match with Jerry Lynn or in a tag match with Sabu against the Briscoes.

I think Van Dam would do fine in ROH, but he has nothing to gain in coming to ROH, and in a way... ROH has very little to gain from possessing him.

ROHbots would definitely love to have RVD. I would enjoy seeing him do a double shot or something. But on a permanent basis, it wouldnt work.

I'd like to see him come in, but only for a few shows, like Ibushi. They could make the matches like:
Night 1: RVD/Jerry Lynn vs. The Briscoes Night 2: RVD/Jerry Lynn vs. Aries/Danielson Night 3: RVD vs. Bryan Danielson Night 4: RVD vs. Jerry Lynn for one last time

Kota Ibushi's 4 day extended stay. I'd personally say logic and put Aries alongside Strong, since both are fan favorites... put them up against RVD and Lynn, but personally I'd rather it be Danielson and RVD as team mates. I'd basically make that change, RVD/Danielson vs Aries/Strong and keep the rest unless we could get Sabu for one night. RVD, Sabu, Jerry Lynn vs Jimmy Jacobs, Necro Butcher, Tyler Black.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I think RVD would benefit by being able to perform with total freedom in the ring and get the time to work that he didn't always get in WWE.
In my opinion I wouldn't want Sabu in ROH, I think he is a bit too sloppy and reckless and the fans would likely turn on him quickly after a few botches.
Otherwise the Lynn and RVD vs. Aries and Strong match does sound godly. Good call guys.

RVD is probably one of my top favorite American wrestlers. I would love to see him do a few shows for ROH sometime.

Just to see what he can still do I would say bring him in for a weekend perhaps Philly/NYC.

I could see ROH bringing him in for some extra press just like Foley and others.. but I don't think RVD would bringl viewers.

RVD in ROH would be cool for a while, kind of like how they had Matt Hardy for a few shows after he was released from WWE before he was resigned. I'd love to see RVD Vs. Jerry Lynn in ROH. I haven't ordered any of the ROH PPVs yet. I saw the first or second one at a friend's place, but they put RVD Vs. Lynn on a PPV, I'd definatley pay to see that match again.

I'd buy any ROH DVD featuring RVD in a heartbeat... RVD/Steen, RVD/Claudio, RVD/Nigel and RVD/Aries would all be classics.

I'd love to see him come in for a few shows, but I'm not sure I'd like him to be there full time. It would take away some of the "hype." And I'm still against the TV stuff, & I dont think it would even help.

I'd definately love to see RVD in ROH. I don't know how well his style would clash with the other guys, but it would be pretty cool. Aries versus RVD has always been a dream match of mine.

I'm sure RVD can still go. He was just so hampered (his style) for so many years in the WWE. If he went to ROH he would bring back the old ECW style. I'd like to see him for a couple of matches. I think on the regular roster he would be more likely to get injured.
