Justin Tyme while I do think this TimeToPlayTheGame guy is an idiot I remember a time when you all did was bash TNA and praise WWE because "omgz tEHy weReNt pUshIN DevINe". I doubt you would be defending TNA right now if it wasn't for them pushing Devine.Fact is, AJ Styles is a joke. Who cares if he was a former NWA Champion? No one does because AJ looks like a jobber now. This guy should be main eventing right up there with Kurt Angle and Christian. Please don't give me the "that's where it's going" because I have heard that so many times.
Then you have LAX. They are the hottest tag team TNA has but instead of pushing them towards the tag titles they are stuck in a feud no one cares about with Rave & Hoyt.
The one thing he's right about is that TNA won't last if they continue to do business the way they are doing it. Crappy storylines, lack of pushes for home grown stars, low buyrates and low ratings aren't gonna get TNA anywhere in the wrestling world.
You are probably right, I used to always bash TNA... One of the reasons is because they are pushing Devine. However I also realized how friggen pointless the argument between TNA and WWE fans is... Both shows put on INCREDIBLY bad products... however there are things that TNA does better than the WWE (Better matches) and their are things the WWE does better than TNA (Better storylines) so why not just stop picking **** apart when it's not going to make a big deal. The BIGGEST reason I am defending TNA at this current time is because this guy is making himself out to look like the biggest douchebag ever...
I don't know where TNA is going with this AJ/Angle alliance thing... looks to me like the most likely route is a feud with Tomko which should do wonders for making Tomko look REALLY good as well as keeping AJ in the upper card. Regardless of what TNA is doing with AJ, he will always be TNA's poster boy since he is TNA's first HUGE homegrown star and therefore he will always have a spot near the top... They don't want one of their top guys floundering so why not put him in an alliance with the champ? Granted they make him look like a damned fool but that's their choice, people coming to the iMPACT zone still seem to care about AJ enough so that's a plus.
See the thing is, TNA HAS been using their homegrown stars... However TNA is (mistakingly) trying to grasp the casual audience. And that casual audience is the ones paying to see Kurt Angle Vs Christian Cage rather than The Motor City Machine Guns Vs say LAX... I'm not saying it's smart but I know what they are trying to do as it's pretty evident. Their ratings aren't low by Spike TV standards. Sure, you stack them up to RAW's and they get blown away but TNA isn't there yet. iMPACT has only been televised on Spike for what, 3-4 years now? RAW has been on for 15 years.... Yeah, I don't see the ratings comparisson. iMPACT's ratings aren't "Going out of business" worthy but they aren't exactly "OMFG, Theys goin out of business" ratings... TNA will always be Number 2... guaranteed.. But to say they don't push homegrown talent is a joke... I mean, Johnny Devine is a prime example of someone getting a huge push right now. Jay Lethal? Samoa Joe? AJ Styles? Christopher Daniels? They all got their taste of National exposure from TNA. Jay Lethal is one of the most over people in the company and is in one of the more hyped up matches for the next PPV. Joe? He's been seen on TV damn near every week making his demands known. He is on every week putting his face out there so people tuning in knows who he is and they know he's ing pissed... that's what I gathered from tuning in to iMPACT for the first time since the Turkey Bowl. TNA's storylines are the ****s but their matches on their shows are ing fantastic. That is what makes them a polar opposite to the WWE. the WWE has some of the most exciting, well built storylines (Hell, Hardy/Orton is the most unpredictable match I've seen in a long time just because of how things have been hyped) but their matches tend to be pretty lacklustre with the exceptions from some of the obvious cast of characters ala Edge, Mysterio, Hardy, HHH, HBK, Kennedy, Punk, etc
So TNA is by no means the most ing awful, putrid pile vomit projected out of a gorilla's anus however it is definately not fantastic. Now call that the satisfied Johnny Devine fan coming out of me again, however that's just the way I see it. I got bored bashing the **** out of ECW 3 weeks after it debuted and I got sick of bashing TNA because they finally did one thing I liked... That was the only thing I wanted to happen before I stopped bashing TNA and it happened so I can just relax and enjoy the Wrestling I get to watch every week now and that will finally include iMPACT now that Devine is a champion
I met Johnny Devine at the last Impact Taping, very nice guy, and looked happy to be there. he is slowly growing on me, I never used to be too big on him, but watching him against the Guns and Lethal, I'm getting more and more impressed.
