- An official statement regarding Mick Foley's departure from WWE will be released after September 1, 2008 from Gillespie Agency. Reports have been circulating on the internet that Foley will sign with TNA. According to a source, TNA has begun working on t-shirt and merchandise ideas for Mick Foley. This further indicates him signing with TNA.
If Foley does sign with the company, they’re handling the matter similar to when Kurt Angle was signed. Dixie Carter and her small circle were the only ones to know of the signing.
- The Spokane Arena is advertising The Undertaker & Triple H verses The Great Khali & MVP as the main event of the Smackdown & ECW taping in Spokane, Washington on October 7th, 2008. Tickets go on sale September 13th, 2008 at 10 AM.
- Sylvain Grenier and Rob Conway will be reuniting as La Resistance at the Northern Championship Wrestling event in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on August 30th, 2008.
- Takeshi Morishima returned to Japan on Friday and made no comment on his WWE dark matches last week. He wrestled Charlie Haas on Raw and Jamie Noble on SmackDown. Morishima only said that he had learned some new wrestling techniques from Ricky Steamboat that he would use to beat fellow rival Kensuke Sasaki in their GHC title match at Budokan Hall.
- Regarding Takeshi Morishima's dark matches for WWE last week, the reviews weren't too positive. Or rather, the problem seems to be with his physical appearance.
Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Live last night that a number of officials were put off by Morishima's appearance, as he's quite rotund. Some of them even thought Morishima disrespected his tryout by showing up in lackluster shape. Morishima is a big guy as he's billed at 320 pounds.
Meltzer also heard pretty much what Jim Ross wrote on his blog on Saturday regarding Morishima as he said he needs to hit the gym and work on his athletic conditioning. On Morishima, Ross wrote: "I haven’t heard a word about how well his matches went. I watched his match in Moline and it was o.k. Not bad, not great. It looks like Morishima might want to focus on his athletic conditioning and hit the gym more frequently. I am not being negative here only realistic. Morishima has "something" that seems like it might be worth exploring. I like his timing and there is no doubt potential with this young man."
In addition to this, if WWE were to bring him in, they would have to deal with a number of stringent political issues with NOAH officials because his side wants him to get some exposure in North America while still being their guy, then bring him back to Japan to carry the company after hopefully attaining stardom with the biggest wrestling company in the world. Basically, WWE can't book him like a joke or make him look bad.
Right now, it's definitely not looking good for Morishima joining WWE.
- John Cena will be heading to San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday to have his neck looked at by Dr. Lloyd Youngblood, the surgeon who performed major neck surgeries on Steve Austin, Edge, Lita, and others. WWE.com reported that Cena will also be flying to Pittsburgh tomorrow to be examined by neurosurgeon Dr. Joseph Maroon.
WWE's website posted some comments tonight from Cena regarding his injury:
“It needs to be dealt with because I lost most of the feeling in my right arm and am having pain in my shoulder....I’m losing 20 percent of my strength per day. If I don’t do anything about it, the injury will end up rupturing and then the surgery will be more difficult. It’s not easy, because surgery never is."
“Every moment I stay away from the table is another moment something bad can happen. The disk is so bulged out and inflamed that any sudden move could make it worse.”
- Former SmackDown performer Brian Mailhot (a.k.a. Palmer Canon) won his debut MMA fight against Tony Rea in Plymouth, MA on Saturday night. You may remember him as the "network executive" for The CW on SmackDown in 2005-2006. Total Nonstop Action Wrestling Sucks - Is anyone Reading This - Mike Scholes. He quit WWE (and his wrestling career) due to a flare-up with John Bradshaw Layfield during the European tour of the spring of 2006. In the storylines, he was responsible for introducing The Boogeyman, the Juniors division and turning Paul Burchill into a pirate. He went under the name "Hacksaw."
- The operations manager at the BancorpSouth Arena in Tupelo, Mississippi said dealing with WWE was the worst. "The wrestlers, themselves, had somehow decided to have a food fight in the dressing room," said Craig Russell. "We had mashed potatoes on the light fixtures."
- WWE's latest Circle of Champions of feature is on Jeff Hardy meeting Make-A-Wish's Brad Wendt, of South Elgin, Illinois before last week's SmackDown/ECW taping.
- Former WWE Diva Ashley Massaro has posted a blog on her MySpace account. She said she spoke to Melina last week about her injury. "I know she and I had a quarrels in the past and some were even shoots, but I know how it feels to be in her position and I feel bad for what she is going through." She also ran into Lilian Garcia, Tommy Dreamer and Lena Yada in Venice a few weeks ago. "It feels like you just left a foster home when you leave the company because they were your family for so long. Everyone seems like they are doing good and I'm glad for that. I wish them all the best and miss them bunches." Massaro also promises on making good on some night clubs she was scheduled to appear at, but had to pull out due to the flu last week.
- The actual rating for last week's edition of SmackDown hasn't come out, but based on the fast national ratings, the show drew 3.85 million viewers, which is down from usual.
- Spoiler:WWE has already started looking ahead to next year’s WrestleMania XXV. WWE is planning to have Triple H face the Undertaker or Edge for the WWE Championship. The downfall between a Triple H and Undertaker match is that he's undefeated at WrestleMania, so he would be expected to win. Undertaker isn't against the idea of losing if Vince McMahon feels it’s a good business move.
At some point, there were plans to have Batista or Edge end Undertaker's WrestleMania streak. Mark Henry was originally scheduled to defeat the Undertaker at WrestleMania XXII in their Casket match until plans changed.

- We still have yet to find any concrete proof regarding Randy Orton's supposed motorcycle accident. The St. Louis media has yet to report anything on it, not to mention that haven't found any evidence of Orton being in a motorcycle accident from authorities. However, family & friends of Orton are saying that the story is exactly as he described it to WWE.com. At last week's television tapings, people in WWE were talking about it as if it was real, but a few days later, they started to become unsure because nobody could find any real proof of him being involved in a motorcycle accident. They were also suspicious that it wasn't covered by the local media because Orton is a local TV celebrity and from his description, the accident could have been fatal. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch was alerted about the supposed accident, but couldn't find any evidence on it being true. Orton claimed he struck a curb and was thrown from his bike on to the ground, which knocked him unconscious. In his words, he "bounced and rolled just under 300 feet, landing in a ditch." Orton said that when the police came, they couldn't believe he was okay other than re-breaking his clavicle, and that had he not been wearing a helmet, he could have died.
- Regarding the release of Colin Delaney, despite the heavy amount of screen time devoted to hime over the past eight months, his character failed to get over as well as officials had hoped and he was let go. The move to turn him heel on Tommy Dreamer fell flat and there wasn't much more they could do with him. When he signed his contract back in January, it was a three-year deal, which of course is off now. Delaney is already back working indy shows.

Taker's a great worker. I wish to God he gave me one-third of what he gives Edge."), Chris Benoit, and more.
- The same article on Diamond Dallas Page has a note on Hulk Hogan no-showing the Florida Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony for its 2007 and 2008 members this past Saturday.
