Week 1, August 2008The RAW opening video aired, followed by Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler welcomed everybody to RAW, live from the NCR Centre in Florida! They ran down tonight’s card, before the music of John Cena hit the speakers. John Cena cut a promo talking about tonight’s main event, where he has to team with his Summerslam opponent Batista to challenge for the World Tag Team Championships. Cena called out Batista, who walked out onto the stage, and told him that he better keep out of his way tonight, because he doesn’t need Batista’s help to win tonight. Batista told Cena that he should worry about himself, and not other people, before leaving. Beth Phoenix Def. Kelly KellyPhoenix squashed Kelly Kelly here in a short match. Santino Marella was at ringside throughout, and despite not being involved got the biggest pop of the match. Kelly Kelly barely got any offence in at all, and Phoenix put her away with the Glam Slam. Following the match Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix demanded that Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston & Women’s Champion Mickie James put their titles on the line at Summerslam. John Bradshaw Layfield Def. Jamie NobleThis was not the squash match that everybody was expecting, as Noble got in some solid offence during this match. The pair didn’t seem to click, but the match wasn’t long enough for it to become a problem. Noble fought his hardest, but Layfield’s strength was too much for Noble, and JBL got the pin following the Clothesline from Hell. Post match John Bradshaw Layfield grabbed a microphone from ringside and cut a promo on his Summerslam match with CM Punk, calling Punk a small fish in an ocean full of sharks. JBL continues talking, not noticing CM Punk enter the ring from behind. JBL turns, and Punk connects with a series of kicks, ending with the GTS. Punk raises the World Heavyweight title over JBL, who is out cold in the ring. Kofi Kingston & Mickie James Def. Paul Burchill & Katie Lea BurchillThe Intercontinental Champion & the Women’s champion team up in intergender action in a very back and forth match. Kingston was off his game at times, and didn’t put on a great performance. Although Paul & Katie Lea looked good, and looked close to winning a number of times Kingston & Mickie picked up the win when Mickie James pinned Katie Lea following the Mickie-DDT. Post match RAW general manager Mike Adamle announced that next week Kofi Kingston & Mickie James will take on Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix. If Marella & Phoenix get the win, both get individual title challenges at Summerslam. Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler ran down the history between Chris Jericho & Shawn Michaels, and how Chris Jericho will make a statement later tonight. Kane Def. Hardcore HollyA good old school style match, with both men focusing more on power moves than quick fast paced grapples. Holly didn’t put in his best performance, and there was a lack of selling from Holly throughout the match. Holly held off the onslaught of Kane for as long as he could, but Kane soon gained the advantage, and eventually put Holly away with a Tombstone Piledriver. Post match Kane grabbed his mysterious bag from ringside, as well as a can of petrol and a lighter. Security pulled Holly out of the ring before anything could happen to him. Kane announced that “The old Kane is finally dead” and pulled out his old mask. Kane poured petrol over the mask, and set it alight, announcing that “The new Kane will inflict pain on all those that get in his way. Michael Cole & Jerry Lawler ran down the Summerslam card, followed by showing Chris Jericho walking towards the ring area. The music of Chris Jericho his as Jericho made his way to the ring, dressed in a suit. Jericho entered the ring and asked for a microphone. Jericho talked about Shawn Michaels (getting a lot of heat from the crowd) and how Michaels has promised to appear at Summerslam. Jericho spoke directly to Michaels at home, telling him to hang up his boots for the sake of his family, and that if he doesn’t do it willingly, then Chris Jericho will have to end Shawn Michaels’ career once and for all. Rey Mysterio Def. William RegalMysterio made his return to RAW after a short absence, and definitely looked like he is back in shape. Regal looked good in the ring, but it became obvious as the match went on that it was to long for Regal. Both men got in their fair share of offence, with both men looking close to getting the win numerous times. The ending to the match saw Mysterio set Regal up for the 619, only for Regal to dodge the move and low blow Mysterio, getting himself disqualified. Following the match Regal blasted Rey Mysterio with the running knee. Regal put the boots into Mysterio before grabbing a chair and blasting Mysterio in the back of the head with it. World Tag Team Championship Match Ted DiBiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes Def. John Cena & BatistaSummerslam opponents John Cena & Batista were forced to team up here, and certainly didn’t look happy about it. Both men looked like they were wrestling a handicap match whenever they were in the ring, ignoring that the other was there. Despite this John Cena & Batista looked excellent during the match, while Cody Rhodes certainly struggled to work a main event match. Cena looked like he had the match in the bag, with DiBiase set up for the FU, only for Batista to shock everyone when he turned on Cena, spearing him to the ground. This allowed DiBiase to get the pinfall on Cena, and retain the World Tag Team titles. As RAW went off the air Batista walked away from the ring, as John Cena stared at him, holding his ribs following the spear.

Very nice Rated R. My favorite part is probably the fact that your starting a Mysterio/Regal feud. Good to see Rhodes and DiBiase keep the tag belts. Like that Noble actually put up somewhat of a fight against JBL and hope to see you push Noble to maybe Intercontinental level. Glad your not really doing anything with Hardcore Holly and the segment with Kane burning his mask sounded pretty cool. I hope you keep the IC title away from Santino for a little while and give him some victories before that. All in all really nice.

Roster looks good, Rated R. Phoenix winning is alright. Decent match. Squash match between JBL squashing Jamie Noble is pointless. I LOVED THE MATCH EVENT! I am so glad Ted and Cody won the match over CENA and BATISTA. RAW was great. The other matches I didn't review were great too. The Promos/segments seemed realistic. Great RAW show. This 2008 will be great.

A solid show Rated R. Didn't like JBL beating Noble, would've rather had JBL squash like DH Smith or someone hehe, but perfect booking in the WWE world. Wait, Kane burned his old mask? Damn, but hopefully you push Kane as a monster that he should be. A nice title reign would be good. Main Event was alright, not a fan of the opponents teaming up whe they fight against each other angles but it worked here. A well written show man

PW Insider WWE News: RAW Dark Match, Announcing Changes, Tag Division News
- Prior to Monday Night RAW developmental talent Shawn Spears worked a dark match against Paul London. London got the win following the shooting star press in what was said to be a decent match, and could lead to Spears being called up to the main roster soon.
- In news from the announcers table, Tazz will be working alongside Jim Ross on SmackDown, while Joey Styles will return to ECW alongside Matt Striker. This pretty much confirms that Mick Foley has left WWE and will not be returning to television any time soon.
- Current plans call for the Tag Team division to be strengthened over the next few months. WWE are planning on having some impromptu teams feature in matches to see how they do, with the lower card being used more in the tag team division.

RAW seemed good, nice opening angle with Cena. Another Cena&Batista/Dibiase&Rhodes match? Hmm, I dunno. Another thing here, and it isn't your fault, but it appears on every first RAW of a 2008 diary, it has Beth Phoenix vs. Kelly Kelly. Good Phoenix won, oh wait, this is based in August, I got it now. JBL beating Noble is fair, and a nice build for JBL, but I dislike Noble being killed. Push him please. Mucho gracious. Good tag team match, liked James and Kingston hyping up their winner takes all match for SummerSlam against the Burchill here. I like that you brought Hardcore Holly back here, and that he got some offense in on nice Chris Jericho promo, glad you went with Jericho/Michaels for SummerSlam. Decent match for Mysterio beating Regal, wish you gave him another good run. Nice you didn't kill Mysterio off for 'that Kane mask angle'. Good main event, happy Cena and Batista lost, unlike their worthless one week reign back in August.

I enjoyed reading Raw.
Glad Beth destroyed Kelly and Santino got the biggest pop. Hope you change up the match between Marella/Beth & Kofi/Mickie if it happens. Make it more interesting somehow.
Good squash on Noble I suppose. Like CM Punk getting some advantage before Summerslam.
Good win for Kofi & Mickie. Would have liked to have seen more from Burchill & Katie. I hope you don't end up with individual title matches at Summerslam.
Glad Kane defeated Hardcore Holly. Also I am intrigued b the burning of his old mask. Can wait to see what he does in this diary as a monster and I hope he receives a big push.
Look forward to what else will happen between Jericho & HBK. Sounded like a good promo.
Like Regal losing by DQ which keeps him strong. Also love the attack after the match. A Rey Mysterio vs. Regal feud should be good. Maybe Regal can finally get the push he was set up for earlier in the year.
Good win for Simply Priceless beating Cena & Batista. Would have preferred Cena hitting Batista to make it a bit different but Batista turning is good to. Cena vs Batista I hope isn't a full match at Summerslam. I think just doing something short will make it better so then the feud can sort of continue and they can have a rematch at Wrestlemania.
Overall good Raw with some nice feuds developing nicely. Look forward to seeing ECW.

Week 1, AugustThe ECW opening video aired, followed by Joey Styles and Matt Striker running down tonight. Styles announced that it’s great to be back, and plugged the first ever edition of the Dirt Sheet live. Tommy Dreamer Def. Colin DelaneyDespite this being a decent length match, it was basically just Dreamer kicking Delaney around the ring, and finishing him off with a Dreamer DDT. ECW cut to John Morrison & The Miz, laughing backstage. Morrison promised that tonight will be the highest rated show in the history of ECW, all thanks to the Dirt Sheet. Mike Knox Def. Stevie RichardsA surprisingly close match for the most part, with Richards getting in some good offence against Knox, who slowly gained momentum the longer this match continued, and as soon as Knox connected with a Bicycle Kick, Richards was knocked clean out cold, giving Knox the easy pinfall victory. Backstage Theodore Long hyped the debut of ECW’s newest superstar next week. Finlay & Evan Bourne Def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam NeelyA solid tag team match, with both teams using a combination of strength & speed which saw both teams hitting some good double team moves. Chavo attempted to use a pair of brass knuckles to end the match, but Hornswoggle grabbed his leg, and Evan Bourne clotheslined both himself and Chavo out of the ring. Finlay followed up by hitting Neely with the Celtic Cross for the win. Post match Chavo Guerrero grabbed hold of Hornswoggle and prepared to nail him with the brass knuckles. Finlay rolled out of the ring and grabbed the Shileighleigh, causing Chavo to let go of Hornswoggle and escape up the ramp. Elijah Burke Def. Armando EstradaBurke made a return to ECW in style here, showing a new style which mixed technical prowess with knockout punches. Estrada did got some offence in, but he was no match for Burke, who finished him off with the Elijah Express for the win. The Dirt Sheet Live Special Guests – Matt Hardy & Mark HenryThe first live edition of the Dirt Sheet got underway with John Morrison & The Miz putting themselves over for several minutes, before introducing first the ECW Heavyweight champion Mark Henry, along with Tony Atlas, followed by Matt Hardy. Hardy and Henry exchanged insults, although Henry’s mic work wasn’t great. Matt told Henry that he should hold onto the title for as long as he can, because at Summerslam, the title will be around his waist. Morrison butted in, insulting Matt Hardy, which led to Hardy laying Morrison out with a right hand. Henry followed up by flattening Miz with the World’s Strongest Slam. Hardy & Henry went toe to toe as ECW went off the air.

ECW was a pretty good show. The opener was decent. I'm glad that you're continueing the Delaney/Dreamer storyline, also glad that you put Dreamer over. The Knox/Richards match was nothing special. But for some reason, usually I would want Richards to win, but I was glad with Knox picking up the win. Anyways, the tag team match up was solid. The ending was pretty good, and I'm really happy with the winners. The main event was ok, but I think it lacked star power. However, I'm really glad Burke is back, and I hope he gets a push. The Dirt Sheet was decent, not the best from you though. I cannot wait to see where you go with the Henry and Hardy storyline. Overall, that was a great show, and I can't wait for more. Keep it up.

ECW was a good show.
Good win for Dreamer. I hope you either do something big with Delaney or just release him.
Sad that Richards lost. Maybe he can come back from it and receive one last big push for the ECW Title. Good win for Knox I suppose to build him up a bit.
Good tag team match. Glad Bourne & Finlay got the win. Would be quite interesting to see Finlay turn on Hornswaggle or something. I just think it could give a ton of heel heat and he could get really over from it. Bourne is just amazing end of story.
Good to see Elijah Burke back on ECW. Hope he is built up nicely and receives a push in the future. Estrada I am interested to see what you do with him since I cant come up with anything that would be good for him except returning as Umaga's manager.
The Dirt Sheet was a good segment. Like Henry & Hardy cleaning house. Interesting to see what you do with Miz 'N' Morrison since im guessing it will be Hardy vs. Henry at Summerslam.
Good show with some nice build up for the superstars. Look forward to seeing Smackdown.

Week 1, August 2008The SmackDown opening video aired, followed by Jim Ross and Tazz running down tonight’s show. Ross announced that due to Edge’s heinous assault on Mick Foley last week, Tazz will be taking over as SmackDown colour Commentator indefinitely. Edge’s music hit the speakers as the Rated R Superstar made his way to the ring, generating a lot of heat as he did so. Edge demanded a microphone and told everyone to shut up. Edge talked about how last week Mick Foley was right, and that he has brought something out of him that nobody wants to see. Edge said that it is too late now, and that after what he did to Foley last week, it’s not The Undertaker who will be taking him to hell. It will be Edge that takes anyone who gets it his way straight to hell. DH Smith Def. Jimmy Wang YangA controlling performance by Smith, who was working as a heel during the match. Yang got in some offence at the start of the match, but Smith made a statement, connecting with the Running Powerslam for a strong win. SmackDown cut to Vickie Guerrero backstage with the rest of La Familia. Vickie is shouting about what Edge said at the start of the show, and Chavo told her not to worry, and that he will take care of things. Vickie told him Chavo that he would have to take care of things, because he will take on Edge tonight. Curt Hawkins & Zack Ryder Def. Super Crazy & FunakiThis was mainly to make the tag team champions look strong without giving them a squash win, and it did just that. The match was back and forth, and Crazy & Funaki did manage to make Hawkins & Ryder look good at times. Post match as Hawkins & Ryder celebrated the win Edge came through the crowd and jumped the barricade, before hitting both men with a double spear. Edge grabbed a chair and laid out both men, before leaving with a sick grin. SmackDown cuts to Big Show backstage. Show cuts a promo on how he is the biggest guy in the business, and how there is nobody bigger and badder than the one and only Big Show. The Brian Kendrick Def. FestusPrior to the match Kendrick started laughing at Festus, but as soon as the bell rang Festus ‘hulked up’ and went crazy, charging at Kendrick, who just ran around the ring. Kendrick used his speed to control the larger part of the match, although Festus got some solid offence in. The ending saw Ezekial threatening Jesse on the outside. Festus attempted to save Jesse only for Kendrick to connect with a dropkick to the back of the head and connect with The Kendrick for the win. SmackDown cut to Triple H backstage, when the Great Khali walked up to him. The two stood toe to toe, making the height difference clear, before Khali laughed and walked off, leaving Triple H looking angry. WWE United States Championship Shelton Benjamin Def. Jeff HardyThe United States Champion was really up against it here, and came close to losing the title early after a rollup. Benjamin fought back hard, and the match became very back and forth, with both men hitting some athletic high flying moves. Benjamin looked like he had the match won after a crossbody, but when he went for the Paydirt Jeff countered the move, and managed to connect with the Twist of Fate. Hardy went to the top rope, but MVP came through the crowd and pushed Jeff off the top rope. Benjamin used the chance to connect with the Paydirt, and got the win. Post match Montel Vontavious Porter grabbed the United States Championship from ringside and entered the ring. Shelton Benjamin turned around and was nailed with the title, followed by MVP doing the same to Jeff Hardy. MVP raised the United States title as the crowd erupted in boos. SmackDown cut to the backstage area, just in time to catch a wild brawl between the Big Show and Umaga. Show and Umaga fight all over the backstage area, and not even the security team could separate them. Show went to chokeslam Umaga through the catering table but Umaga headbutted him. It took all of the security team plus several superstarts to separate them. Triple H Def. Kenny DykstraDespite this looking like a guaranteed squash match, it was far from it, with Dykstra taking the offensive early on with a new found aggressiveness and quick thinking move set seeing him one step ahead of the Game for a good part of the match, before Triple H took the offensive by working away at Dykstra’s legs. Dykstra attempted to grab a steel chair, but when he went to hit Triple H with it he was met with a kick to the gut. Triple H followed up with a Pedigree for the win. Jim Ross & Tazz hyped Summerslam, and announced that they have just got word that Big Show V. Umaga and a United States title match between Shelton Benjamin, Jeff Hardy and Montel Vontavious Porter have been added the card. Edge Def. Chavo GuerreroIt became obvious early on that Chavo didn’t look like winning this match, but it quickly became obvious that Edge wasn’t just trying to win the match, but to really hurt Chavo. Edge brought a chair to the ring with him and laid out Bam Neely before the match even started. Chavo managed to get some offence in during the earlier parts of the match, but the longer the match continued his offence became weaker and weaker, eventually finishing with Edge spearing Chavo for the win. Following the match Edge left the ring and chucked two chairs into the ring. Edge proceeded to brutally beat down Chavo, before delivering a Con-Chair-To. SmackDown came to and end with Chavo busted open and laid out in the middle of the ring, with Edge grinning sickly.

Pretty good SD. Giving Smith a push is a good idea and something that I haven't really seen in any other diaries. Not sure about back-to-back squashes though. Shelton winning with interference made sense. Ok main event although the crowd wouldn't really have sympathy for Chavo. Overall pretty good show and I could see most of it happening in real life. Please reply to my Santino diary whenever.
