WWE is fast going the way of WCW. But worse. IMO. Which is hilariously ironic to a WCW mark like me.
WWE completely buried WCW in 2001, and pissed in the face of the WCW fans. And for the most part they still viciously badmouth it and refuse to acknowledge it today. Vince wanted to be the only king of wrestling, and he got his wish. But at what cost? Like Scott Steiner said in a shoot interview, Vince didn't pick up the die-hard WCW fans, he didn't give us anything really, so lost a hell of a lot of viewers. And he refused to allow WCW DVDs to be made, so again, he loses money from us desperate WCW fans who want them so, so badly. But probably the worst thing is he killed the competition and as a result the quality and originality of the product has plummeted, and of course the ratings echo this.
Even in the very last days of WCW, sure it wasn't as good as the previous years, but I still enjoyed it quite a lot. Honestly I struggle to watch WWE now it's so bad. Don't get me wrong, I don't want WWE to fail, and I enjoyed the attitude era. I was never one of those "you must like one and hate the other" type of people - i always preferred WCW, but I liked WWE too.
TNA is obviously the 2nd best company (in terms of profits/size/ratings I mean) but they are still far from real competition for WWE. They just aren't doing enough stuff different/better/more interesting than WWE to attract the number of viewers they need to really compete. Of course the wrestling itself is incredible, but WWE offers much more than just the wrestling itself, so that's what TNA needs to compete.

CM Punk's canned pops. lol Pops>talent at least that's how it is in the WWE my man.(mhmm Corn Pops) Your saying the crowds reaction to a wrestler means more then the actual Raw talent of the wrestler..So do you think Hornswoggle is better then a guy like Kennedy or someone that gets less of a pop?? Very intelligent..

I've been thinking about this for awhile. Never posted on it.
All the pops on Smackdown got a certain sound to them.

Look, I'm 28 years old and sue me if I want to see something a little more aimed at adults! Last time I checked, the 10 year olds in the crowd weren't the one buying merchandise, ppv's, and tickets to the show. Its adults driving their kids to the arenas. So excuse me if I enjoy a product aimed at me instead of a kid. So yea. I tune into the show thats gonna give me blood, violence, table/ladder matches, street fights. I was a loyal ECW fan and I refuse to call that garbage that airs on tuesday that. There is nothing extreme about it. Its a joke. WWE right now is a joke. Cenas barney/sesame street character is a joke. So yeah, TNA is my salvation right now. If you want to see garbage wrestling so badly, you should go watch old CZW tapes. The 10 year olds in the audience do influence their parents decision. And honestly, why do you need to see people blade themselves so badly? Many of the violence, table matches, street fights were terrible matches (well, at least in ECW). ECW was a joke. For every gem that came out of ECW, there was about two tons of garbage. ECW on Tuesday has a solid hour of wrestling with minimal amount of BS. If you're mad about it, go order 24/7 and was the ECW reruns that they air bi-weekly. If you want a product aimed towards "adults," knock yourself out and order a porno. If you really hate it that much, don't watch it. Where the only difference I notice in WWE lately is the lack of blood or steel chair shots, which really could be toned down as it is, especially after the whole Benoit brain-trauma incident. I don't see song and dance acts teaching kids about the alphabet. You can only use the PG excuse for so long. If you don't like it, that's fine, but the PG doesn't have much to do with it.

So the WWE cares more about what those fans want more than what people who want more technical wrestling. That's why we get Cena and Batista who get amazing pops and win most of here matches rather than CM Punk who gets fair pops or Shelton. Wow a simple "what do you mean by that" would have suffice, next time don't come off so smug.

Hey bro. I totally understand the if u dont like it dont watch thing so many of u like spitting at people like me, and I do just that. I don't watch ECW or Smackdown for starters, and I tape raw every monday so I can go watch it later that night. That gives me the freedom to skip past all the garbage I dont want to see and I can just watchthe matches and segments that appeal to me personally. Years ago I wouldn't have dreamed of watching raw like this, but hey the product today in my opinion of course, blows. Ratings are at an all time low for a reason buddy.

wwe is getting better than the beggining of this year. but brian kendrick in wwe scramble. LOL! He doesnt have as much talent as people like Festus etc. Paul London was better than brian kendrick talentwise. Wtf? Kendrick has amazing talent. For you to say that Festus is better than Kendrick, it just boggles my mind. Festus has about the same amount of talent, that you have with your grammar. That's not a compliment.

I agree with Kennedy. I Think the PG thing is losing alot of fans. It's not just the new rating..they've been steadily losing steam for a while. I can barely watch for more than 5 minutes these days. And I used to be a huge mark for WWE. I used to defend it when someone would bad-mouth them but now I can't help but do it myself. It's a terrible product today...especially if you compare it to a couple of years ago.

I definitely hear it on Smackdown.. Its funny when a big ass roaring pop echoing across your tv speakers.. then you look at the audience and they are all sitting down with their hands on their laps looking bored to death.
