Kids these days are just becoming brattier and brattier, more spoiled, more destructive, more nasty, ect, and for some reason, spanking is getting wronger and wronger. See the correlation??? I voted yes. Thank you so much for pointing that out.  |

I got spankings when I was younger, and I turned out fine. I'm not tramatized, I don't live with foster parents, I'm fine. It's kind of difficult to "reason" with a 2 or 3 year old.

Yes as I was bought up whereas if I took it too far and I was really playing up I'd get a smack on the arm for example and that discourages kids to do it in the future. My 2nd cousins who only get a telling off without a smack are naughty and they know they can pretty much get away with anything even if they do get shouted at.

And to add to what I said earlier, I never got spanked, not even once as a kid and I never got into trouble or did anything wrong so spanking I think is un-necessary.

I really think its just bad Parenting making thier Kids spoilt and so on, but Spanking does straighten them out and makes them realise what boundries they shouldn't cross, seriously people who grew up in the Older times came off way better, Kids now have everything handed to them, whats going to happen when they grow up? They'll be nothing without their Parents, so Disclipline is good in moderation.

If you never got into trouble or did anything wrong (which I doubt), then of course you were never spanked, because there was no need for it. Disobedience begets spanking, not the other way around. |

Parents have to be allowed to discipline their kids. If the kids are allowed to run wild and the parents have no rights, then you end up with sarcastic little smart-asses who think they can do nothing in school and end up with millions of dollars because some idiot said so in a rap video.
I don't believe in actually "hurting" the kid...so I say let's compromise. Parents should be able to tee-off on their kids with NERF BATS....the kid gets more scared than hurt, and everyone involved learns a valuable lesson.
