Why do they have show international football. It's a joke, all British international matches should be shown on the BBC or at worse ITV/C4/C5. I enjoy getting behind all 4 nations and watching, but because money has got involved with the game, I can't watch any of the home nations. It's bad enough with Skysports showing the premier league, but Internationals should be on "normal TV" Wait until trevor brooking says "well, No one is english playing for england anymore, thanks to the new FIFA rules, we've signed Fabregas from spain and Henry from France, There was no intrest from any in britain, so we had to look elsewhere".

Its Setanta. The reason they get to show the matches is simple; The offered the most money.
I read that during the Andorra match, they had so few subscribers that they were losing £5 per viewer

Without Setanta some other company would come along with the rights to show Premiership football and possibly International so I doubt it will only ever be Sky Sports where you have to pay to watch football.

I think Setanta is really expensive, £10 a month? It was good when we had Prem Plus and my dad paid £50 for the 50 matches.., that was good value, where as he'd be paying £120 for a year, half of which won't show any matches that relate to my team, but I always imagined they'd keep Englands games on BBC1, quite scandalous if you ask me.

And all ready sick and tired of the build up they've got for United vs Liverpool. I only watch wwf vintage classics.

Setanta is so f'n annoying, I like to watch the football like most people, but most annoying for me is that it's taken over UFC!!! There is NO way I am paying THAT much for Setanta though. It is absolutely crazy.

im pretty sure if you can go to asda and pick up a 120gb recordable freeview box with Setanta on it for a year for under £80...
does it cost more than that to subscribe to the channel on sky?

Its great buisness from Sentanta, if no one else can even get highlights then people have no choice but to buy Sentanta or not watch England again for the near future. Weather you like it or not Sentanta are really smart.

I have it free. Don't see what the fuss is about. Fair play to the buggers.
They are competing with SKY!
They need to get exclusives like this, they have England games, FA Cup games, UFC Live, they have live Boxing, they have european games, SPL, & they have a good lot of Premier League games.

From Wikipedia: Media coverage
From the 2008–09 season, England's home qualifiers will be shown live on ITV with away qualifiers and home friendlies being shown live on Setanta Sports. Away friendlies will again be sold by the home team. Before this, home qualifiers and friendlies were shown on BBC with away matches on Sky Sports.
In Australia England national football team home games and selected away games are broadcast by Setanta Sports Australia.
All matches are broadcast with full commentary on BBC Radio Five Live.

So ITV will have some at somepoint but not BBC.

My parents bought Setanta just as the Croatia game started. They were thinking of getting it and then 2 Spurs games in a week swayed my Spurs - Fan dad.
