The feeling within WWE is that Vince McMahon will go out of his way to keep Batista in the main event scene. Batista has mentioned the idea of retiring in a year or two, and both current and former colleagues believe he really means it and is not just posturing for a better contract. However, Vince will likely sweeten up his deal to make Batista happy and active in the ring if he has to.
Some say that Batista has a reputation as a bit of a free spender and that might be one reason he would consider staying with WWE. However, the consensus among others is that he’s managed his money well, having spent a lot but made a lot more.
Batista does big business for WWE overseas. Apparently he is the most popular wrestler on international tours and WWE is well aware of this, which would explain why Vince would go out of his way to keep him happy.

Let him retire and make another cash cow between now and then.

I'm sure Vince can find another half-Filipino half-Greek powerhouse to milk the European and Asian tours.

I like Batista. He's not the best, but I'm entertained/interested whenever he is on. I think he probably wants to be champion again. He's always near the title, but hasn't gotten it in a few years.

this makes me question why they pushed batista as a main eventer, when he has only limited interest in remaining in the business for a profitable amount of time marketing wise. wwe has put huge amounts of work into batista. i suppose he has had his run, his last championship reign was probably his peak

Ever since Batista/Taker at Mania 23, I've been a huge fan of him.

If people believe this ****, it's intellectually- disabled. It's just people writing and speculating because of the last bit of news on Batista, which people don't even know is true.
Gah, I hate fans.

Id like to see him stick around for a few more years, but he shouldn't be on Raw, send him to Smackdown where he can have a fued with Taker and Trips and Edge. I know hes had them in the past, but Raw has way to many top stars, he needs to go to Smackdown and just stay there. Then again, I really liked him when he first debuted, well, shortly after the stint with D-Von, when he was just a monster.

I hope he does.
He needs to take some time off and then come back as a heel.
Then retire in like 2 years.
He is kinda old isn't he?

I love how people like to blame Batista for wanting to be in the main event scene. Did you forget that it was Vince and Triple H who wanted him to main event in the first place? This was a guy who just wanted to be in wrestling to earn a paycheck and the WWE insisted on pushing him to the moon. Batista is well aware of how much business he does for the company, so why in the world would he want to just take a backseat to the main event scene considering how Vince has pretty much kept him in the main event scene steadily since 'Mania 21?

I like Batista and I hope that he doesn't retire. He always puts on great matches and the Batista-Bomb is awesome. I'd like to see him feud with Triple H. Batista vs. Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Taker- Hell in a Cell for the title would be sweet
