Okay...
Now, if I do say so myself, I consider myself somewhat of a figure-finding "king", and I NEVER usually have to post threads like this.
In the normal world, it doesn't matter how rare a figure is, if I want it, I ALWAYS end up finding it, and for the cheapest price possible (usually exactly or slightly below chain store RRP), which for me, justifies the sheer amount of figures I buy.
For the first time ever in my figure-collecting adventures however, I find myself absolutely UNABLE to find TWO CS figures, and as time goes by it looks more and more like I will NEVER get them, and the possibilities of finding them seem to be long gone. The two figures?
CS 18 Sunny AND Mae Young.
WTF is up with these figures, and why are they so VERY elusive in the UK and on UK eBay? I know they're diva figures and therefore rarer, but I've seen Sherri and Luna in Woolworths and TRU, and I saw other rare figures such as Ken Patera also. But these two? Nothing. Even Forbidden Planet didn't have them in their shipment of CS 18!!!
Firstly, Mae Young:
Her counterpart, the Fabulous Moolah, warmed the shelves everywhere, and she was only a 1-per-case figure! I found her in Woolworths for £7.99, and Forbidden Planets were snowed-under with her (some branches probably still are).
Secondly, Sunny:
Okay, I understand the buzz surrounding her first figure, but damn, why have I never seen at least one eBay auction that wasn't some kind of Buy It Now for £14.99 plus postage?!
(At this point, I should say that I will never pay that much for a single figure, I'd rather go without, which is why i haven't caved in already and paid £15 + postage on eBay.)
Still however, when I get behind with a couple of figures such as this, it means I am missing a couple of classic superstars from my collection and I start to lose my interest in buying the newer stuff I need, as I know my collection will still be incomplete.
I'm not gonna pay a fortune for them on eBay because knowing my luck as soon as I did that I'd walk into Woolworths next week and they'd probably have a fresh order of CS 18 on the shelves.
Anyway, I'm really just posting to ask, is anyone else at all frustrated by the lack of CS 18 (especially the two divas) at a retail store such as Woolworths or TRU, and do we think it's ever likely to happen in the UK?
Thanks for reading, guys!
