the main tv in my house is a cathode ray tube television - you know, the 'fat' ones it's a 28" one - biggest that would fit, due to the size of the tube. i am not going to upgrade it to a newer set, until it dies, simply because, for standard definition viewing - which won't be going anywhere soon, a crt is the best of the available technologies, as it gives the best pure picture, imo. yes, crts have shortcomings - notably geometry - no crt is geometrically perfect, and the biggest sized screen available is 36". the size and weight of crts don't really bother me. it's a shame, that, where i live, the ultra slimfit crts, from samsung are not available (i hear they sell well in america) - the tubes in the ultra slimfits isn't as big as standard crts, and they offer hdmi connectivity. we had the original slimfits - but they bombed, due to numerous issues with the sets. it's a shame that, here, the general public favour looks over functionality - flat screens are dominant here - crts are all but phased out here, which is a right shame. i don't feel like paying money, which, for my needs, is an inferior technology. for non-high definition material, lcds can't touch a crt - plasma comes close - but, with plasmas - you have to take very, very good care of them, due to the possibility of screen burn and the like. so, what is your main tv's technology?

gaming...on a plasma? i wouldn't really advise that - due to the issue of plasmas and static images (huds etc).

I'm at college right now, and I have my 32" Sony Bravia.
At home, that is usually in my room.
The "main" TV, I guess, would be in the living room, and thats just a stadard 36" JVC CRT, its a piece of crap. My parents don't really have the money to spend on an HD right now, though, so they're just waiting until it dies.

In my room I've got a 20" flatscreen SDTV. I'm saving up for an HD flat-screen, though.
