Hulk, Piper, JYD, etc. weren't regular Machines. They did them for special one shot appearances and always unmasked. Andre, Bill Eadie (Masked Superstar, Demolition Ax), and Blackjack Mulligan were the full time Machines. I think with the Hogan exclusive coming with a Machine outfit, people thought he was a regular member of the team.
I was lucky enough to see a Machines match in person years ago. It was Eadie and Mulligan vs. Big John Studd and King Kong Bundy during their feud. I can't remember if Andre was at ringside or not. He was injured after the Machines run began, and that was the reason Mulligan was brought in as a third member of the team.

I forgot to write what incredible customs these are. Seemingly simple, but the mask/singlet sculpting and the painting is excellent.
