I will say just slightly over rated...simply for the fact that people put him on the "mount rushmore" of wrestling all the time. Ask yourself this, when was The Rock "The Guy"? Rocky Miavia? Nope....Nation? Nope...Corporate Rock? Nadda...He was fantastic in all his roles but the only time that he could say he was "The Guy" was in 2000 when Austin was injured. Once Austin returned, he was "The Guy" again.
Its not to discredit what Rock did...Macho Man was never really "the guy" because he was in an era of Hulk Hogan. We dont discredit how great he was but very few actually put him on a mount rushmore list too.

To be fair they were probably more focused on the new names/stars they were pushing & not so much the "age". They were simply moving away from the "norms" of the past 10 years. Sure Bret had been around for a long time but he's still what, 5-6 years younger then Hogan? That's a lifetime in the ring.
Also most of your old heads were used to put guys over and build stars. Think about Backlund. Yes he won the title but then immediately lost it to Diesel the next night. That made Diesel. Who else on the roster had the name power to be world champion & lose a squash match but also NOT hurt the business? You cant get Bret to do it. Yoko was having to be carried in tag matches.
While the main event of Piper-Lawler was odd, it was likely filler. Neither really did anything or took any "spots" from the younger guys. Piper was gone by SummerSlam I believe and Lawler was 90% a commentator & just filler for cards.

This biggest issue is ECW was a niche promotion & many of those fans arent around any more. There's some names that Mattel could make money on because you could get a variety of looks like Douglas, RVD, Dudleys, Taz & Dreamer...but guys like Pit Bulls, Balls & Axl, Tanaka, Corino etc will just simply rot on shelves because nobody has a clue who they are.

Finally watched Wakanda Forever and I cant say Im a fan. I understand obviously having to change everything after Boseman passed but I dunno..The first one was great. Great character development and added so much to the main storyline that was going on. This just seemed like they could have chopped it up and made it into one of their Disney+ shows and just used it as filler.

I cant remember if Ive asked but has anyone done or seen side by side comparisons with the Joe Slaughter & Marvel Legends? Most notably characters from the MCU like Rogers or Wilson Capt America?

Only other brand I have on shelf with Mattels is Giant Gonzalez. It's just simply a figure I don't see Mattel making in the foreseeable future and because of JAKKS size, I feel it fits in with mattels

They really need to move everything back to Daytona. This racing at a football stadium is silly It might've been cool as a one off but like you said its time to go back to old reliable They need to do like the old IROC race at something like this. Some charity event post season. Get top 2 guys from Cup, Xfinity, F1, Indy & a maybe a couple more and do something...but yeah...Gimme the Clash, Twins & 500 all at Daytona |

I love it when fans say "we should've done this" like they're apart of the team. I love it when people get mad about that. If you're a passionate fan of an organisation, and that organisation focuses on making you feel like you, as a fan, are part of it, then what is it hurting? Answer: Nothing. Having been an Eagles fan for basically my entire life, and knowing what they do for the fans and for the city, we all do feel like one big family. So yeah, speaking for myself, I do say WE and I'm not really in the business of caring who likes it or not. I wouldnt have seen this if you didnt quote it (cause I blocked the goof last year) for doing the exact same thing & whining about me saying "we" when literally like 5 other people said we when referring to their teams....I think Id speak for everyone in this thread when I say WE would like for him to shut up & stop trying to troll & bait arguments. |

Well not just today but this week has been great. After 9 1/2 years of being jerked around & lied to from my company I finally got tired of being crapon and decided to start looking for new work. Ive already received 1 very promising interview from Smith & Wesson, another interview set up with AMR (Ambulance/EMT service) as well as a promising opportunity at a large healthcare service.
