Haven't watched Day 3 yet. Still reeling from seeing Karl Anderson pin Nakamura clean IN THE MAIN EVENT. It was awesome. Cannot believe it actually took like 3 of his 'finisher' to pin Nakamura though. lol.

Nice ani Douglas, just a little bit shaky and needed a tad more of a reaction, rust happens to all of us sometimes tho. Rust use to happen to you after like 2 days without animating...

Zach Sabre Jr might also make a surprise appearance. Noah doesn't have him listed for tomorrow's show...just saying... Probably not. He has been VERY busy with the Jr. Heavyweight tournament in NOAH atm and he will be there until the tournament ends.

I saw Hanson do a moonsault off the top rope and onto the floor a few months ago at a ROH show. He was almost more agile than the Briscoes. Dude is deceptively athletic. I highly rate Hanson. Yes, he looks a bit 'green' in some aspects of his in ring work, but for the most part I really enjoy watching him perform.

WWE wants ROH out of there way Hell they arent even signing guys from ROH anymore True. It's been much more PWG based, for the most part. They feel more obliged to sign guys from the likes of EVOLVE/PWG as ROH has tried themselves to 'outcompete' the smaller Indies by making exclusive contracts. It seems to me ROH are receiving a taste of their own medicine which you cannot say is not justified.

He is just going to have to prove himself continuously as someone that deserves to be put in the upper card scene. If he keeps delivering against a variety of opponents I like to think that his rewards will come. We all have to remember he has only been part of the company for around a year. He has a lot to offer, it just takes time.
I am hopeful...

Just finished Day 1. My ratings: Mascara Dorada, David Finlay, Jay White & Tomoaki Honma vs. Jushin Liger, Yohei Komatsu, Tiger Mask & Yuji Nagata - *1/2
Captain New Japan & Hirooki Goto vs. Yujiro Takahashi & Cody Hall - *3/4
Shinsuke Nakamura & YOSHI-HASHI vs. Karl Anderson & Tama Tonga - **1/2
Kazuchika Okada, Gedo & Tomhiro Ishii vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, Michael Elgin & Satoshi Kojima - **
Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Doc Gallows – **1/4
Togi Makabe vs. Toru Yano - **1/2
Tetsuya Naito vs. Bad Luck Fale - **1/2
AJ Styles vs. Katsuyori Shibata – ***
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kota Ibushi - ****
Expected more of Shibata/AJ but it was still a fine match. Ibushi vs Tana was pretty damn great. That ending sequence was awesome. Decent way to kick off. I thought for Shibata to put on a 4 star match [in my opinion at least] with a mucked up arm/shoulder was a great effort.

Threemendous IV is this Friday and so far they've announced: Young Bucks vs Angelico & Jack Evans Ricochet vs Akira Tozawa World's Cutest Tag Team vs Team Tremendous Mike Bailey vs Chris Hero There's a lot of space left on the card. VERY excited to see what fills it. How likely would Johnny Nitro/Morrison/Mundo wrestling in PWG be? Pretty unlikely. He is pretty full with dates in both Mexico/Europe and obviously in Lucha Underground. Could be a possibility I guess for the future.

Well I thought I would post the first of what I hope will be 19 written reviews of my thoughts on G1. I will just quickly summarise my general thoughts for those who might care, and for those who do not want to read all of it, I have left any recommendations at the bottom as well.
White, Finlay, Dorada, Honma vs. Komatsu, Liger, Mask, Nagata **3/4 Hirooki Goto and Captain New Japan vs. Cody Hall and Yujiro Takahashi **1/2 Shinsuke Nakamura and Yoshi-Hashi vs. Tama Tonga and Karl Anderson *** Okada, Gedo and Ishii vs. Elgin, Kojima and Taguchi *** Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Doc Gallows **1/4 Toru Yano vs. Togi Makabe **1/2 Bad Luck Fale vs. Tetsuya Naito **1/2 Katsuyori Shibata vs. AJ Styles ***3/4 Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kota Ibushi ****1/2
Opener was a better than average 6 man, I am taking a liking to White/Finlay/Komatsu, they all seem to know what they are doing. Next tag was pretty meh. The Nakamura tag was actually pretty good. Nakamura and Anderson had some pretty nice exchanges in the closing stages off the match which took it to the next level for me. The second 6 man was also good, turned out to be a nice way to build up for the upcoming singles matches. Elgin/Ishii should turn out to be pretty good.
Now we get to the start of G1. Tenzan/Gallows was pretty poor, really slow and pretty sloppy for me. Yano/Makabe was also pretty standard for a Yano match. He is very entertaining, and is good for comedy...just don't expect a fantastic match from him this tournament. Fale/Naito was a bit disappointing. Fale has good matches with Okada and Nakamura but a Heel vs. Heel really didn't lead for a good match to be delivered I think. We now enter the good bits...Styles/Shibata was a great match. Really good stuff right here. They didn't go crazy on nearfalls at all here, they didn't need too. The match had a great story behind it with Styles targeting both the Leg and Shoulders of Shibata. I marked hard for the Bloody Sunday as well. Tanahashi/Ibushi was just AMAZINGLY good. Such a great match. Great drama was built in the closing moments, I loved when Tanahashi caught Ibushi's leg when he attempted a pele, I marked for that. An incredible last few moments really made for a special match.
Recommendations: Styles/Shibata and Tanahashi/Ibushi [As you might have guessed].

Was a GREAT show, really rather great. Nakamura/Goto was also very good as well as the 3 way Jr. Tag. Only watched the Jr. tag so far. Fun, but I feel like it was the same match I've seen with these guys before. Yeah, they do struggle to freshen up the division but that being said, the matches are always quality so I am not complaining.

Anyone watch Dominion? Without spoilers, any MOTY contenders? Okada/Styles? I've heard good things about Okada/Styles, Shibata/Sakuruba and KUSHIDA/Omega. Basically though, I've heard it was a great show. Was a GREAT show, really rather great. Nakamura/Goto was also very good as well as the 3 way Jr. Tag.

I don't think Elgin still has passion for wrestling. Just imagine if Adam Cole instead of Elgin is booked in this tournament, how much better the card will be? Oh god, it'd be miles better. I was hoping they'd have Roddy in after his great Border Wars/War of the Worlds performance. I finally subscribed for this and the G1 I hate watching on the laptop, I have a roku and a samsung smart tv, how is the best way to watch, just an old fashioned hdmi hooked from the laptop to the tv? The HDMI is probably your best bet I'd say. I feel they should have gone upon the WOTW performances, and frankly, Roddy was just miles ahead of Elgin on that front. Elgin I am sure will be fine, but as someone has already said, he just doesn't seem to have that same flare. That being said, he has his chance now, I would be surprised if this doesn't motivate him!

Makes sense. It's kinda like posting something non mattel related in the Mattel board because no one hardly reads the others lol As I reevaluate my prior post, there is a big positive to putting non wwe matches in here because someone like me who doesn't watch much wrestling other than WWE, I feel the need to look up some of these matches to see what the fuss is all about Tbh, I have always thought it would be cool to merge 'smaller' boards together just to allow for more people to be exposed to them! I recommend Sabre Jr./Roderick Strong, such a great match. Will be a great first viewing for someone who doesn't watch much else outside of WWE related stuff.

Non WWE matches being posted in here dilutes the discussion IMO because this is the WWE board. I think Lesnar vs Reigns with the inclusion of Rollins is the MOTY We should probably re name the thread to 'WWE Match of the Year' in that case. The current title alludes to any match across the world.

Here's the G1 Climax blocks if anyone was curious and hadn't seen: Block A: Styles Fale Gallows Tanahashi Tenzan Shibata Ibushi Naito Makabe Yano Block B: Goto Anderson Elgin Okada Kojima Nakamura Honma Ishii Nagata Takahashi Nakamura/Styles final? Elgin honestly might lose every match, the only two I can see are maybe Nagata or Takahashi, but even those two I don't know. Looks great. I think Elgin will beat Takahashi but thats about it really. I really hope he delivers, he has been begging for this for years. Quite honestly, he has done nothing to impress me greatly so far in 2015.
