Weird stores? No, but they were all over the place in pharmacy stores like CVS, Walgreens, etc. back in the day. Supermarkets as well. I remember they were priced higher there than anywhere else, and they never had anyone but the common figures. Garage sales during the Hasbro run and a few years after were pretty good too, but that's probably beside the point. Same exact experience w/LJNs. Oh yeah I remember grocery stores marking them up.

I remember getting them at the store as a kid. The big one that sticks out is I saw an Andre, and we were already like 4-5 waves deep, and I passed because I assumed it was new and I'd get it later. I was so bummed I never saw it again. Didn't realize then it was Wave 1 and just a weird left over somewhere.

Wait so which Finn could it be? Don’t we have all the demon Balors to date? I’m prob wrong but could someone refresh my memory with a pic What's the basic one that came with the ring?

My only gripe is some of the Machos not coming with shirts/tops. The red/black/yellow WCW and HOF King sould have had tops. Whatever though. Wasn't enough to stop me from not buying them.
For the Acolytes, give them tag titles, make them an exclusive 2 plack, boom I bet they sell.

Lol they didn't get the correct Undertaker pic on back. Whatever. I'm a loose collector so that's fine 🤣 This^ Mattel is either just lazy, or WWE doesn’t provide very good photos. I’m leaning towards the first one. I can EASILY see it being WWE too. Chalk-Line, the company that puts out full-print sublimated windbreakers, does WWE ones. They did a "Hart and Soul" one with Undertaker and Hart for the match they had at SummerSlam. They used the pic of Bret from the poster but then used an Undertaker picture from like 2011 or something vs. the 90's. I asked them about it because I WAS excited for the jacket and immediately turned off by that change. They said, outright, they have to use what their given. Sometimes they are given a number of options and sometimes those options still don't include what is accurate so they do their best. Sometimes WWE doesn't give them accurate high quality images and in the end WWE approves it all. So I can really see this being WWE just tossing them a library of images of Taker with the tag belts and being like "this is all you get figure it out".

Doesn't the belt licensing for some of the old WCW belts belong to the designers or something? I know I'm not 100% right, but there's some deal where Mattel can't just make whatever belts they want due to something like that.

I'm fine with re-releases because I don't buy for profit and didn't buy anything for crazy over-priced mark ups. I think re-releases CAN work, it's a matter of how they're done. Cactus Jack wasn't bad, for example. The whole re-released wave was not so hot however (still have Taker, Warrior etc warming in my area.)
I'd say just do 1 in a lineup or pepper them into something like the HOF like Steele was done or toss them in some sort of two pack and it'd be fine.
There's no older figures I want/need that I don't have. So that said, I think they should re-release in some way OG Kane. They can give him 2 sleeved arms if they REALLY want to make it a little different and still get that original look out.
To me that's the key, change something enough so the original is still unique and clearly different. Like that Taker could have done without the mask, toss in an urn, or Warrior should have had a yellow IC title.
It just sucks for those who got into these later to miss out on some of the most VERY iconic versions of these guys. And they're mass produced plastic, they shouldn't be that expensive. Just do it in a way where shelves aren't clogged with them at the end of the day.

I get what you're saying about Macho, and with the Elite line I agree. But for the retro, nah. Hasbro made his most iconic and colorful looks from WWF. Orange trunks, King, Cowboy hat. To re-do any of that, even if it was slightly different, would annoy me. So nWo is cool since we didn't get nWo Hasbros. I'd same the same for Hogan if they end up getting him back. There's like 5 damn Hasbro Hogans, I'd want nWo. Not all of us have or collected the original Hasbro's though... especially MOC. Personally, I'd rather have the most iconic look/attire of a wrestler for their first figure. Well loose you can get them for around $10 here or there. If you're going MOC than yeah, all the Machos are pretty pricey then. I guess to me I don't see it as the first since I see this line as a continuation vs a new one but that's just me and my bias.

On one hand I am like, awesome a new Hasbro style Randy Savage....... but NWO Savage? That was what they came up with? The figure looks cool, but I would have loved a 91-94 long tights WWF Savage. This one is a complaint of mine but people seem to get mad when I point it out. Savage had so many colorful attires, yet we keep getting figures painted with only black clothing. I love the ring itself. But I also think it's funny everyone keeps pointing out this line is not RETRO Era wtestlers, it's been aimed at today's stars, but we get the Retro old school blue ring with red, white and blue ropes. Why not today's ring, to go with the figures. I get what you're saying about Macho, and with the Elite line I agree. But for the retro, nah. Hasbro made his most iconic and colorful looks from WWF. Best version of Kane. The "Hardcore" RSC and reverse colors versions are runners up. I don't recognize Kane post mask removal.

I'd buy these. I would likely pass on Re-Action figures. They charge $15 for those which is weak. I'm honestly bummed SURE isn't working something out with NJPW. They've historically done a lot with Japan/Japanese companies so it'd fit really well. I’d buy all re-action NJPW figures, if they made them. Yeah for that I'd sucker up $15 a pop.

Mostly everyone. There's like 8 guys I've gotten multiples of, and even then it's because alternate gimmicks (1 Hall, 1 Razor, etc). Otherwise I keep it to 1. Yeah same here. I usually get the one I like best and not every different attires they make... unless a newer version looks amazing compared to the other.. Yeah I mostly only get all Takers and Machos. Surfer Sting too now. Anyone else though it's only if they had multiple gimmicks. Like HBK and be DX Michaels, Diesel and Nash, Hogan and Hollywood etc. But 1 and done generally. No need to clog up my shelf.
