I’m completely out of the loop on the Basic line. What articulation changes were made? The bicep swivel and ankle joints are gone. The arm rotates at the elbow now and they appear very TTL-ish in person. |

Would you rather have the basic JJ Dillion set or no JJ Dillion at all? Sets are probably made based on how much budget they have for the lines.
I'm not gonna pretend to know, but I imagine that they had enough in the basic budget to make that extra set. Main line Elites are getting better, so they probably didn't have the money to make that an Elite BAF set.

Longton Smyths had about 1 million basics and 1 elite per peg. Saw Sheamus and Cesaro from E58 but I got E57 Tye Dillinger and the Retro Stone Cold.

I had a look around to see if i could find any of my old Basics and ended up with these. These came out in 2010, almost 10 YEARS AGO. Good articulation, good attires, great paint applications and really good headscans.  And this is what we have today, almost 10 YEARS LATER. Crap (and less) articulation, terrible attire choices and HORRENDOUS headscans.   Logically, you'd think almost 10 years would be enough time to improve and make Basics even better than older ones from 2010. But instead, it's a major step back with less articulation, no effort put into them, poor attire choices and execution, and awful headscans. I smell a Jakks 2.0 coming. Basics like the ones in your first photo are the reason I defended that line for so long when it was actually good. Edge and Kofi are spectacular, Jericho and Mysterio look perfect and the others are great for that time period. I wouldn't take one of those new basics if they were offered to me for free. |

Found these at a kinda local market today (it's about 45 minutes away) and wanted to share them here. If I was gonna find anything I was expecting it to be random loose figures or old random WCW Toybiz stuff, but I'm very happy with these. I know JBL and Boogeyman aren't worth much but for £5 a piece I wasn't gonna pass them up. Seeing the packaging again felt pretty nostalgic (I'm a young one, I know) I don't think I've ever seen a Ring Giant MIB so this was a cool find. I actually have this loose somewhere but they are much easier to display in the box. Cool figure - I was never super into this line but again, the nostalgia is nice. Plus, it's Kurt Angle. ![]()  |

Good to know I might actually have a chance at getting Strong and Kay now since they don't release the NXT basics in England, but I hope this doesn't put them off making lots of NXT characters in the future.

How rigid are smyths usually with the discount? Will the get strict on the £20 spend for the £19.99 for the price of an elite? It needs to be exact. I worked there for a few months last year and the codes for sales don't go through unless you get the right amount. If you buy an Elite and a pack of trading cards or something like that you'll get the majority of the discount. |
