This was a WWF Title Match between Hart and Savage in 1994 at a house show. Apparently, Bret and Savage were supposed to have a much shorter bout with Hart winning strong, but neither liked it, called an audible then tore the house down. It's a camcorder from '94 so its gar from HD. Thanks for sharing that. That was a quick tap by Savage. It still made him look weak. It's basically my dream match! My two favorite wrestlers. Anytime, Monsoon!

You would think a match with two huge stars would be treated as such, but Lanza gave them a lame finish that kind of hurt Randy's pride as if he wasn't a main event talent anymore. They scrapped his vision and ended up putting on a great match. Lanza came up to both guys backstage after the match and congratulated them which resulted in Savage telling him to go kick rocks. 🤣 Haha. I could completely see Savage saying that, but with his finger being pointed at Lanza.

Heres another in-progress figure. I have to clean up my paint edges then hop on Photoshop to create decals and my Al Snow will be finished.

These are great, well done! I have a couple of questions: 1. The Batista custom - did you paint the torso at all? I'm thinking of just using a The Rock body and putting a Mattel or Jakks Batista head on it (whichever one I can find that's the closest skintone match). 2. I'm planning on a custom Roman Reigns, using The Rock's upper body, glued onto the Hasbro Sgt Slaughter lower body. Paint the legs black, put a Reigns head and vest on the figure, and paint some of the tattoo work on the arms. Does that seem reasonable, specifically the Retro upper body on a Hasbro lower body? Hi, and thanks for the compliment! I did not repaint the torso on the Batista. I avoid skintone painting as much as possible. Sometimes, its unavoidable, though. I'd say you have a great idea with that Reigns custom. Just do a close examination of the width of the torso vs the width of the Slaughter legs. As long as they match up enough, it wont be glaring. Heres a tip with that, too. Invest in an electric Dremmel tool. It really comes in handy when I have to sand down, saw off or slightly modify plastic parts to create a fit. If you alter the peg of the Slaughter legs, you may be able to allow it to fit in the Retro torso. Its would give your figure stability. Let me know how things are coming along!

How about Andre The Giant and Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase vs Hulk Hogan and... Rocky Balboa?

My next project will be a custom of the unreleased Jim "Anvil" Neidhart Hart Foundation figure. Always save your junked figures. I had everything I needed in my parts box.

Anyone have any recommendations for Mattel/Jakks heads that may resemble Taka or Hakushi? I'd like to make Retro customs but am stumped on this one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Ha! Awesome! Another great throwback. Thanks for the info about Saturn’s skin tone and using the Rock’s retro. Have you done any torso cracks on these retros? I have a few ideas I want to try using the Kevin Owens torso, but haven’t cracked a torso since the old Jakks BCA days. Also, what kind of primer do you use? I want to fix the skinny Sheamus but feel like it would be a nightmare to try and match the skin tone. What are you using the KO torso with? Just curious. I have cracked open torsos, some easily and clean looking, some are a mother and degrees of wedging could be seen on the plastic. I keep 2 measuring cups of water, and alternate heating each in the microwave. I let them soak for a few mins then look for a part of the seam with a gap and gently work it with an exacto knife then heat soak again. I also keep a box cutter and then flathead screwdriver. Don't pry hard because the edge of the plastic will smash in. As for Sheamus, I say grab a glossy flesh colored acrylic and carefully add small amounts of white and stir. See where it gets you. I go to my local Hobby Lobby for this clear lacquer. It's great. What I like about it is even if you dont have a perfect paint job, it makes it look so much better.

Finally figured out what I'm going to do with this extra Mason Ryan head that's been collecting dust in my house. Mod it slightly and make a Corporal Kirchner Retro. Nice, look forward to seeing how this turns out! Thanks! I'm going to finish LJN Warrior, LJN DiBiase, Kirchner, and start up on an Al Snow this week. And heres a photo of an empty kitchen counter. I see nothing else here.

I’ve been looking at all the customs you’ve created for so long that I finally had to create an account to comment about how amazing these are. You’ve made so many awesome customs! I wanted to ask about Saturn, is that just the Rock body, or did you have to repaint it? I was thinking the Macho Man green trunks would match skin tone. But, Saturn is one I’ve been dying to make. Thank you, brother. I appreciate the kind compliment. I enjoy creating from an artistic sense, but also want to make figures that we may sadly never see. There are instances where I may have to do skintone painting for guys like Test, Big Evil Taker, or Nash in order to eliminate or add a singlet. But I avoid doing this if possible. In those cases, its minimal skin painting. I've seen some with full body skintone painting including the head and it takes it down a level imo. A minimalist approach with that is how I go. But I look at two things: body type and skin color. I pick up old Mattels or Jakks on ebay and match the head with the body. Saturn was a darker guy, so Rock was what I used. You'll see too much of a color difference with green Savage, trust me. Grab a Rock on Ebay for $10-15. I go online to find attire logos and tattoos and I clean them up on Photoshop. If I cant find what I need, I use curbstompdecals.com...cheap and great quality. I go gloss paint and use a clear coat lacquer spray to seal the paint once its dried.
