The most recent one is the best set they've done yet IMO And the upcoming one is the one I'm least excited for and will likely pass unless it's on offer in the future. Ref Ali does nothing for me. There was enough perfect Hogans in the original line & we just had nwo Hogan. Wendi & Studd just aren't big enough stars to get me excited for it. Hope they keep coming though and we see some more never done before stars I want New Generation characters much more than I do Golden or Attitude. Sweet spot for me is ‘93 to ‘96. I get more nostalgic for sets that are a continuation rather than gap-fillers from earlier series. I would absolutely love something like a Million Dollar Corporation set. Pre-nWo themed WCW sets have a lot of potential, too.

I held off on Ultimo just cos I'm picky about the scale. I might actually try and pick Savage up, though. Are they talking about a variant Macho as well? No, I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure it’s a one shot deal.

@figheel shared this new pic of “Macho Man” Randy Savage from Series 1. If you compare it to the previous prototype image, you’ll notice that FC has given it a deeper tan than it previously had. You should expect the final product to look more like this latest pic. The designs on the removable hat are also painted all the way around, and even though it’s hard to tell because of the lackluster lighting, the color of the hair has changed for the better, too. Lines on the tights differ as well.

My Black Strap Andre should be here by tomorrow. I don’t think I’ll bother with swapping the heads unless it feels like it’s doable.

I love the package design. Crazy how much better Basics look compared to the new Elite boxes. Belts with figures is always a great move for the kids out there who don’t have the means to collect like we do. Basics are headed in the right direction and hopefully Mattel continues to give them the attention they deserve.

I’m officially passing on this one. Same. Too much other stuff has me by the cajones at this time. Only one I really had an interest in getting was Zelina, but not enough to drop $100 right now. If Bad Bunny or Carlito were included in this exclusive, I’d have probably caved.

Here’s a screenshot of an update that FC sent out to previous customers by e-mail earlier today: And here’s a closer look at the BCW parts being assembled, and one more of the standard James Mitchell release:

I think the DX set is brilliant. Love the HHH headscan. Cant wait to get this set. …I don’t see it. This might be one of the worst Retro head sculpts yet. The original was bad, but at least it had a slight resemblance to Triple H. I wish we could get something a little closer to an Elite likeness. How is it that Billy Gunn can hold his own with any of his Elites, but Triple H looks like a cartoon caricature of himself? Especially compared to Elite 86. It's even more ridiculous when you compare it to the Masters of the WWE Universe figure. Who worked on that one? Michelangelo?

That’s with the cost of shipping factored in. Andre has been the best price yet for a new release.

A few shots of hand-painted Bone Crushing Wrestlers prototypes appear in this excellent new video by 3Lephant (Naptown Icon): FC hinted at it on their Instagram Stories: Here’s Series 2 Glacier (first shown in the video around the 20:02 mark): Series 1 Ultimo Dragon and “Macho Man” Randy Savage: Series 1 Sonny Onoo (variant) Again, these are all still in prototype form and are NOT final samples.

This and SummerSlam ‘93 were two shows I grew up on because my parents ordered the PPVs for me and recorded them to VHS, so I always had access to them whenever I wanted to watch a wrestling show. I still have both tapes, but unfortunately for this show, everything except the first minute or so of the SVS ‘94 pre show got taped over - and it wasn’t even for anything worthwhile! Just some day my dad was randomly watching C-SPAN and hit record on the VCR. I always made it a point to remind him how much that bothered me lol.
I watched it on the WWE Network several years ago on the morning of Thanksgiving, and it definitely still holds a place in my heart. Helen throwing in the towel after Bret was locked in the crossface chickenwing for forever is a moment burned into my brain. Bob Backlund was the greatest heel I’d known up ‘til that point. Chuck Norris being the enforcer for the Casket match. Lawler and Doink’s teams were never this bad thing to me - just an alternate form of entertainment in wrestling. It was for little kids and not meant to be taken so seriously.
One aspect of Survivor Series that I always loved and made it seem like a special, once-a-year event was when the teams entered together. I get such a rush of nostalgia from pairings you wouldn’t normally see on the same team, walking in a single file line as they’re introduced one at a time. Bonus points if there is a video wall behind them.

Here’s a look at the Sonny Onoo prototype with camera accessory and trading cards: Sonny posted that pic on his socials. As crazy as it sounds, this is my most anticipated from the rest of Series 1.

I really hope they make the canceled Chainsaw Charlie BCA. The mini figure did come out, but we never got the full size one. It was suppose to be packaged with a Cactus Jack figure, but that figure was instead included in a Foley 3 pack and the 2 pack was replaced with a Lawler and Cristopher repaint. I would also love a Funk figure. Depends on if he has a deal with WWE, or if his estate is open to many suitors. I would personally rather have a ‘97/‘98 Terry Funk than a Chainsaw Charlie. There are a lot of ‘90s looks to be made of Funk should FC want to do them. They could get at least two or three variants out of him.

Do we know if Bruiser Brody will be sold with his vest Friday? He hasn’t said either way, but I’m thinking it will not. If it were to come with the vest, I would expect him to include it on the mock flyer.

It’s a very decent Mattel version of a Retro style figure. All of them in that set are, really. They’ve got their flaws, some more than others, but if you’re interested in that time period and want to have figures in that scale, it’s the best option you have right now. Lawler and company may be locked up with WWE/Mattel for years to come, and your only alternative would be a more expensive custom. I like the Lawler and I don't like many of the Mattels. I think for the most part the ones that have more deco look better, think it hides the cheapness look of the sculpts. Cept that Vader, the stance just makes it look too weird. It’s just too big and boxy. If you can overlook that, the rest of it isn’t bad for the price Mattel charges. I wouldn’t be satisfied with it if I were paying Zombie prices, but for $15-20 each, I’ll take it. Beats not having a Vader at all for my collection.

I'm very tempted to get the Lawler retro, as it's very Hasbro-like, imo. I've no interest in the Vader retro, but part of me feels like picking it up just because, same with masked Taker. I'm mainly interested in 1991-1995 for retros, with a few exceptions here and there. It’s a very decent Mattel version of a Retro style figure. All of them in that set are, really. They’ve got their flaws, some more than others, but if you’re interested in that time period and want to have figures in that scale, it’s the best option you have right now. Just announced that the Diana will be in a 2-pack with the Bulldog. Highly dissapointing, and sounds like another blunder on his part. I've been trying to defend his figures so much, but this is a clear panic move after he figured out that Diana aint selling on it's own. Crap move IMO. And it's going to continue to damage his image. Making Bulldog more expensive by packaging him with a lesser likeness doesn’t seem like a winning strategy. If anything, I think this will hurt the would-be sales for Bulldog. It’s a good idea in theory, but not if the execution isn’t up to par.
