I used to have a Giant and his accessory was Rey Mysterio Jr.,who had like an extendable neck. When you push the legs together (I think) giant grabs Rey by the neck and chokeslams him. It was awesome. In the first series Rey was included in a non-flattering way; he came as a rubber accessory for the Giant (in white with an extendable neck) as well as a rubber accessory for Goldberg (in 2 variants even: red or blue)

The toy biz/marvel seem like the ones I'd be after - what's the general thoughts on these? You don't hear them talked about like you do other brands - are they mostly forgettable? I'd say they're underrated, also the Bash at the Beach series, the Nitro Active series and the TNT series are quite a challenge to find.

During that era first Original San Francisco ToyMakers (OSFTM) had the license, they had different types of figures: first LJN-like 7" rubber figures, then 6.5" figures with an action, the forgettable 6.5" vibrating figures and 4.5" movable figures. Later Toybiz/Marvel had the license, they had scaled figures with an action that kind of fit in with Mattel figures.

Thanks. And duh...it was right there in the pic. Edit: Actually, Winter 2017 already passed. Maybe just a typo? Unless I'm mistaken, I remember seeing pics of these or similar figs from a convention from the previous year, so I'm not sure if this is something that's been trotted out for a while now. Technically 21 December 2017 is the start of the Winter.

What would be the point of a MUSCLE with paint apps? Exactly. I almost pulled the trigger on the Street Fighter MUSCLES a month ago, but I'm glad I held off. The WWF characters are a much better fit for the line. The original MUSCLES figures were based on Kinnikuman, an anime show I still haven't seen yet and which features super-powered wrestlers beating the crap out of each other. So to have super-powered 80s American wrestlers who beat the crap out of each other be made into MUSCLES figures is brilliant. Really brilliant in that it blends two things I'm nostalgic for into one package. Haven't been able to find any release date info, though. I hope these come out soon. Winter 2017.

Have no idea who this is but Figma make by far the best quality figures I have ever had. He's the innovator of the STS (stepover toehold sleeper), held the IWGP Heavyweight Championship once, co-held the IWGP Heavyweight Tag-Team Championship 7x (twice with Keiji Mutoh, 5x with Hiroyoshi Tenzan), as a member of nWo Japan he beat Chris Jericho at WCW Souled Out... Oh, he's also the stepfather of Jazzy Gabert!

Well, being a kid in the '80s I think we got quality figures back then: MOTU, GI Joe - ARAH, the A-Team, M.A.S.K., Bravestarr, ...
So I disagree with: less articulation = less quality or less articulation = statues.
As Remco proved with their AWA figures: these could do body-slams, suplexes, back-suplexes, power-slams, elbow drops, super-kicks, dropkicks, legdrops, lariats, ...

Pretty cool!
Wrestlers in the ReAction-line would be nice, although they only seem to get the faces right on fictitious characters (MOTU, Street Fighter)...

I'm wondering if maybe there was a planned jake the snake Roberts Ljn stretch wrestler and this is the prototype head or possibly a proto head for a unreleased figure from the Spain line of large figures? The Star Toys of Spain figures had real hair (except Big Boss Man) and Jake was released. This head looks more recent, I'd even say realscan technology.

Seems weird as a prototype head for the hockey table figures; those were in one piece.
I'm thinking it's a Mattel proto for Magnum TA or maybe even Jakks Jake...

Other than the company that we can't mention nobody can event come close to wwe. Their figs are nice but they only cover certain guys and appeal to a certain market. I personally Own a few and like what they are doing. But At the end of the day since wwe basically dominates the wrestling figure market by far , I understand why there aren't many other companies out there taking a shot at wrestling figures. As a lifelong collector, I would love to see some competition out there. Like the days when jakks was doing wwe, and toybiz was doing wcw. Plus I believe OsFTM was also doing some ecw figs. The good old days .... That was all US wrestling, then I preferred the '90s: when you had Hasbro WWF, Galoob WCW, Kelian AAA and OSFTM CMLL :-)

Well, I don't think it ever was like you could walk into a japanese toy store to buy japanese wrestling figures; only at events, sites or the NJPW shop... For the moment all there is in Japan is the legends in anime-style by Medicom Toy, these are nearly 10" and only have moveable arms and head. Revolution Pro has a 7" Marty Scurll figure with about 9 points of articulation. They also plan on releasing Zack Sabre Jr., Jimmy Havoc and Will Ospreay. Downside is; the promotor sells these: slow shipping and despite ordering a signed figure I received a non-signed figure (did get a refund for the price difference). Looking at these in starting to have serious second thoughts about spending money on these. They seriously look like bootleg figures. How many characters did Jakks make? Jakks didn't make these, Original San Francisco ToyMakers (OSFTM) made these. At the time, 1999, these looked better than anything Jakks was making.
