Spent some time playing the beta last night. Actually my first ever experience playing online.
I played the capture the pod game. Kept being killed, but I had a blast! Fun game.

So now that it's been confirmed that the DLC Showcase match is The Enforcers vs. Dustin Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat...
I wonder how much of the pre-match stuff makes it into the game?
Here's the match for those who don't know what I'm talking about.

This match isn't as good as the crowd is making it seem Kevin Dunn?

This insane roster makes me think of one of the modes that they should really expand on: Tournament Mode!
I wish we could set the number of participants higher than 8. At least let us do 16.
Also, round robin tournaments, maybe even with the ability to split off blocks New Japan G1 style.
Also bring back special tournaments from previous games: Beat the Clock and Money in the Bank. Set them up just like in the previous game that had them where you can even select the champion the winner gets a shot at.
Basically I want Smackdown vs. Raw 2008's tournament mode with this year's roster.

So it's official that we're getting Dustin? SWEET!
Also, IF Dustin and Steamboat get their own DLC slots, that makes 31.
There's the 30+.

The popular theory is that the match was probably SUPPOSED to be Alundra vs. Bull or Bertha, but for whatever reason the rights for the opponent couldn't be secured, so they went with a dream match instead.

Damnation...I knew it. I have no way of getting any DLC, as I have no online access for my 360. I'm happy for everyone else who wanted Piper and Perfect, who can get/pay for DLC. But, it seems I'm in the dust. Crap. If you're talking about Xbox Live, you do NOT need to have a Gold subscription in order to download DLC. As long as you have a working internet connection connected to your 360, you can download the DLC. If you do not have the internet connected to your Xbox in any way, a 2 day live code won't help you anyway.

This is all day one DLC I'm assuming? No. It is all post-launch DLC, just like the 2K15 DLC. The only date that has been given is that it will all be released by WrestleMania time next year.

I knew I forgot one on my list.
Outsiders vs. Harlem Heat appears to be the Halloween Havoc '96 match where The Outsiders won the belts.

Going based on the matches listed and shown in the trailer, here are the areas we should be getting with the Hall of Fame Showcase:
This Tuesday in Texas (Savage vs. Roberts)
Survivor Series '00 (Rikishi vs. Rock, if not already in the Austin Showcase)
SuperBrawl I (Fujinami vs. Flair)
SummerSlam '91 (Bushwhackers vs. Natural Disasters)
Clash of the Champions XVII (Zbysko vs. Anderson)
The SuperBrawl and Clash arenas were the stages where WCW had the ramp that came up even with the edge of the ring. It would be AMAZING if they could figure out a way to implement this into the game.

Yeah, it's very bizzare that those two would be announced as "vs." even though they never wrestled.
To add to the conspiricy is the fact that the clip used in the anouncement trailer is from a match against Ricky Steamboat and Dustin Rhodes.

Are the guys in HoF showcase mode playable in exhibition mode or just in the showcase? Of course they are playable in exhibition. Why wouldn't they be?

IF you go with the idea that each superstar included in the season pass, including any possible duplicates included in Showcase, get a new slot in the downloadable characters section just like in previous games, we get really close to that 30 mark.
1. Big Boss Man 2. Dusty Rhodes 3. Lita 4. Mr. Perfect 5. "Rowdy” Roddy Piper 6. Trish Stratus; 7. “Macho Man” Randy Savage 8. Jake “The Snake” Roberts 9. Rikishi 10. The Rock 11. Alundra Blayze 12. Paige 13. Larry Zbyszko 14. Arn Anderson 15. Tatsumi Fujinami 16. Ric Flair 17. Butch Miller 18. Luke Williams 19. Typhoon 20. Earthquake 21. Kevin Nash 22. Scott Hall 23. Booker T 24. Stevie Ray 25. Samoa Joe 26. Diego 27. Fernando 28. Blake 29. Murphy
The only question now is, how do we get to over 30? Are there maybe a couple of other superstars involved in the showcase matches that are not officially announced, like ones who interfered in the match? (LOD got involved in Bushwhackers vs. Disasters) Are they counting any potential managers on that list?
It's not out of the realm of possibility.

So Cena is obviously dropping the US title here tonight, right?
Why else would they hype up the US Open Challenge as much as they have tonight?

I've seen speculation about the 7 Hall of Fame showcase matches being based around this year's HoF class. What if this is their way of getting other Hall of Famer's absent from the main roster (like Dusty, Piper, Eddie, Perfect, etc.) into the game? But what matches could there be? I feel like that would make them super obscure. I'm not saying they have to be matches against each other, just milestone matches from their careers. Like do a Flair/Rhodes match from Starrcade, Piper vs. Hart from WM8, Eddie defeating Brock for the title, etc...

- I'm pretty sick of 2K putting prominent wrestlers in and only allowing them to be used as managers or referees. It's ing lame as crap. May not be a 2K/WWE Games call. May have been a WWE call, just like the NXT women.
