I guess anytime we are looking into a new fed to watch we are "jumping bandwagons" Great Logic. Nope. Its that 3 years ago, I was ridiculed for my love of Chikara. Besides.....sarcasm is a true lost art on the internet. Well, not everyone who follows CHIKARA on WF claims to be a "life long mark" in all their posts either. Just kidding CM, hehe. I totally get ya. I get bashed all the time for liking CHIKARA, some IWA-MS, and others very much, on different boards. I just get tired of the constant HUSTLE comparisons. I'm sorry but Hustle doesn't have the continutiy, storylines, characters, etc that I like about CHIKARA. Also, i'm a massive Quack mark, one of my top 3 workers of all-time in my book, so i'll watch anything he puts on. CHIKARA is a breath of fresh air in US indys. and Inter-Species Wreslting is beginning to grow on me with their similar, and more off the fall antics. CHIKARA is jsut the kind of fed I needed, when Indy wrestling started to all book the same people and same matches. I'm nota huge DM fan, but I love shows that get to showcase young, fresh talent, with potential, in very interesting circumstances. It's different from anything else in the states and they also continue to book more and more talent i enjoy, like Sami Callihan SIlas Young, Soul Touchaz, Drake Younger, Ego Fantastico, and others. So, at this moment after hearing about the "THE UNSTABLE" by accident, I cannot wait to see the latest developments. I hope to god we see a confrontation between Delaney/Jimmy Olsen. I could go on forever about why CHIKARA is my main focus at the moment. IWA-MS is a close second, due to Dingo, Sami, Jason Quick, Hades, Prince Ali, and all this amazing new young talent who have been killing themselves and tearing it up to try to create some buzz for them.

I will agree that Chikara isnt as good as it was in 04-06. It lacks intimacy that it had in those times, working the smaller venues. Since they have a monthly show or 2 in Philly......its just not as much fun. I love Reading, Pittston was great.....give me the backwoods of Barnesville for Christ sakes.....but not Philly. I would imagine from a business point they have to run in Philly now to survive. CHIKARA is trying to expand mang. If they tried running the same barns and stuff, they wouldnt exist. I'm not trying to correct you or nothing CM, because I enjoy that intimate feel also. IT's because they book Claudio, Hero, Sonjay Dutt, Sweeney, Kingston, Drake, Chuck/Rico, Colin Delaney, various Japan/Mexico guys, they need to draw the areas when they brining in "guests". I totally feel you tho... i like smaller, more intimate setting also, but for CHIKARA continues, it cant just coast. WHen they book KOT and such, and they draw 200 people, thats a massive failure. I'd rather see eethem work the Arena every now and then, with some bigger names and then maybe have smaller venue shows strictly for students, like i've seen them do before, with just maybe one main eventer like Mitch Ryder or Claudio. So, maybe we could maybe get some of the shows with the more intimate settings. Just be thankful there's no more comic bubbles lol.

Zero to Hero isn't a BAD show, don't get me wrong. It's just nowhere near must-own. And yeah, I just miss the venues, some of the roster and also just the overall feel of how CHIKARA used to be, before it's flashy graphics and podcasts in it's tiny venues. It was really unique.

I could definitely do without Dutt. And I'm not saying bring all their biggest names to the smaller venues. Leave them for Philly. Just do some more smaller venues. It was just more fun and more unique. Zero to Hero isn't a BAD show, don't get me wrong. It's just nowhere near must-own. I'm with you Chris. I miss Jigsaw with a mask, Roshrach, Share Cropper, The Grump Crumodgeon, CP Munk, Colt Cabunny, Lance Steel and Lance Steel, Jolly Roger, Mister Zero, Private Eye, and of course Chris Hero. Those were the days.

Lance f'n Steel. I totally forgot about him, but I totally miss it. Huzzah~! Whatever happened to Retail Dragon and Dragon Dragon? BLK OUT don't seem around there as much anymore either.
But like, all those guys were replaced with the likes of Brodie Lee, Lince Dorito, Shayne Hawke, Mitch Ryder, Super Smash Brothers, Incognito, Turbo, etc, etc, etc. and it's not the same.

Cabunny was around for only 1 show......but so what? Still rocked. And Ken The Box. Forgot about him. Both Lance Steels are gone. Sucks. Retail Dragon and his Walmart vest was rockn! I forgot about him and Dragon Dragon. They have been missing since KOT 07 I think. BLK Out is out. Kingston and Sabian still work there. I think from time to time we get Ruckus. But Joker retired. Brodie Lee is a hard hitter. But just doesnt really fit Chikara. Lince works well and the kids love him. I got no issues with him. Super Smash Brothers are boreing. Mitch Ryder and Shayne Hawke.....blah. I should mention I love the Colony and Incoherence. They are great. Glad to see Colin Olsen back, wished he reunited with Jimmy. The UNstable is actually pretty cool.

I like the zanny CHIKARA characters, but I enjoy it more now. It's more based in wrestling, where before, it seemed more comedy based. They have a good mix now. Better than say, 2005, IMO.
The Unstable is my favorite thing going in CHIKARA, in a long time. Specifically, Vin Gerad. Best CHIKARA heel EVER. that includes Hero & KOW too.

I only have Best of 2007 and Nights 1 & 2 of King of Trios 08, and they're great investments. That maybe because Rhett Titus came out to 'Breathe' by Pink Floyd, but still both are great. I'm looking into getting more after I get SvR09.

But I cannot stand Shayne Hawke or Mitch Ryder. SO boring.

Hell.......Darkness Crabtree ruled all and I would still rather get Crossbones and The Sharecropper or even Ken The Box and Mecca Mummy.

I don't think Quack puts the belts on who he thinks will sell DVDs. I think he puts them on, who needs them. It isn't like FIST sells a ton of DVDs. I think Smash Brothers are like, the transitional champs, who will lose them to the next big heel team. I don't expect them to hold the belts very long. But, it will help their credibility in CHIKARA and when they lose the belts, it won't hurt them.
and BTW, one of my favorite CHIKARA shows is KOT 2007, not really just for ther tournament, but for a few good gems.
Yago/MIYIWAKI vs. Olsen Twins Matt Sydal vs. Hallowicked Unbelievably large Tag Team Gauntlet (atleast 20 teams, over 60 mins)
The tag gauntlet is simply amazing. Just for the return of Sharecropper and Larry Sweeney. EVEN WITH FLOAT ON!

I didnt believe it at first, as I already heard Cena's music. But when I saw him come down the ramp, I was jumping up and down. That puppy was magical. And the gauntlet was wreaked of awesomeness and all kinds of goodies. 2 major highlights. As well as Yago trying to kill Quack and Quack selling it like it was the end of the world. I want more of that awesome goodies.

I totally spaced Ricochet/Claudio. My favorite Ricochet match ever. I wish a rematch would occur.
Also, most people hated it, but I enjoyed it, Yago vs. Necro.

Oh yeah good call. Best of 2007 is great. Cheech and Cloudy vs the Olsens from Cibernetico and Robin is on there, and that was my favorite indy match of 07 This was my favorite indy match from that year as well. And, as other posters said, the Best of 2007 would be a good start. I'd recommend the 2007 and 2008 King of Trios shows as well.
