Hi guys, well, I've been using Photoshop since August, and have been making sigs and all, and tbh, when I see peoples work on this site, I wonder how the hell you can do it, so I was wondering, if anyone could possibley give me a few tips, I'm not asking for you secrets or anything, maybe just a few tips that could help improve my Sigs Heres where most of my stuff is located wfigs.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=Graphics&action=display&thread=98210Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'll do my best for ya: 1. Blending. That's one thing to work on. And when just doing simple forum graphics, blending is all you really need. Layer > Blending options > Pick from the drop bar. The more you use it, the more you'll become familiar with how each of them work. 2. Hue/Saturation. Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. This will turn the layer you're working on into all one color. Not posterized...everything will just be tinted to the color you pick. This is essential for making a color themed graphic. 3. STOP USING FILTERS ON PHOTOS. They do not look nice at all. The only reason you should use these is to help with creating a background, or to accent small parts of the graphic. 4. Text. Your text is a big problem. Lets say you want to make a grunge sig. Pick a normal font such as Arial, then add some brushingto it. No need to download facy brushes right now, just scroll through what you have and find something that looks grungy. Then GENTLY make a few marks on the text. It'll dirty it up a bit. Don't do this for every graphic. To me, text is everything in most graphics. So if you're really serious about this, google some images of typography designs, see how efficiently some people use text. Also, seperate the color of the text from the rest of the image. For instance you have a brown edge sig, with orange text that you can barely see. That's a no no. So. That should be enough to help you get started. My aim name is "hurrichud". If you'd like, I can help you go step by step with one to help you learn.

Two main things, one is to crop images right and another is to not go overboard in effects. Thats one big problem is people find a simple effect and abuse is. Effects in the right portions can make things look really great. Also to get better, you need to allow time.

I've looked over your tips, and first of all thanks so mcuh, and I've tried to sue what you guys said, and have created this; I overlayed a few pics over the main Edge pic, and used a PSD, and changed the effects Comments?

Since the big Edge's eyes are looking up and to the left, I'd suggest switching the placement between that and the background Edge and text. When doing that, I'd flip the orienation of the background edge so that he's facing in towards the middle like he is now. Also, I'd get the text off of the corner.
Great work.
