Monday 6th October 2008
The World Wrestling Federation’s usual signature opening video is shown, stating the fact that the WWF has been the world-wide leader in sports entertainment for over fifty years, and that over half-a-billion viewers watch it every single week.
Following this, a video package airs, reviewing last Tuesday’s Unforgiven, which was a RAW brand exclusive. It highlights the full show from top to bottom, starting off with the beautifully amazing technical display put on by Gregory Helms and Bryan Danielson [in which Danielson won with a reverse of Helms’ Vertebreaker’. It moves on to show Chris Jericho attempt to successfully retain his WWF Television Championship from the Big Red Monster, Kane, only to fail as Kane won with a Chokeslam. It then shows highlights of Samoa Joe’s match with Mark Henry in which Joe had to win in order to get a shot at Mike Mizanin’s NWA Heavyweight Championship. Joe won with a power slam from the top rope and proceeded to batter The Miz and win the NWA Championship from him in less than five minutes with the Kohita Clutch. It then cuts to show the four-way Tables, Ladders and Chairs match between World Tag Team Champions, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, James Gibson and Ultimo Dragon, the Hardy Boyz & the Hollywood Express. The Hardy Boyz picked up the win, but after the match, Billy Kidman tried to attack Hollywood Express in a revenge attempt for the past week’s RAW only to fail. This led to Chris Jericho turning face somewhat and saving him. It then takes a look at the triple threat elimination masterpiece for the Intercontinental Championship with Ken Shamrock winning the title from William Regal [who was injured and eliminated first] and Christian Cage [who had a stipulation on him where if he lost, he had to leave for SmackDown]. Finally, it shows the main event with super-heel, CM Punk defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Edge in a match that featured interference from the Nation [Elijah Burke and Lashley for CM Punk] and the Samoans [Yokohama and Umaga for Edge]. Punk eventually won following a ton of controversy.
The heavy-metal guitar introduction to “Thorn In Your Eye” by Such a Surge sounds, showing us several shots of various RAW is WAR competitors, such as Ken Shamrock applying the ankle lock; CM Punk applying the Anaconda Vice plus various others. Such a Surge continues to sing through the lyrics for the song, and the entrance video package lasts around fifty seconds, viewing many RAW is WAR undercard wrestlers hitting their patented moves on their opponents to a red glow. The video ends with Jeff Hardy hitting a Swanton Bomb off of a ladder, falling to the bottom of the screen as the RAW is WAR logo appears above, with a fiery maroon shade in the background.
From that point, the secondary theme for RAW is WAR plays, it being the instrumental version of Anthrax’s “All Together Now”, it plays loudly as the hard camera zooms out from the logo, showing it to of been the graphic on the TitanTron. The camera looks up at the lighting rig far above the ring, where a red rocket is waiting to be launched. It falls diagonally from the lighting rig and smashes itself downwards right into the metallic-colored stage and ramp way. The smoke rises up into the atmosphere as we take another look at the RAW is WAR graphic up on the TitanTron and the camera ‘twirls’ around using some special effects. The camera then looks at countless fans holding up signs in the arena as the stage is a metallic frame with the TitanTron seated above it, countless RAW superstars portraits shown on a bar above the entrance way and below the tron.
A graphic appears in the top-left corner of the screen showing us that this edition of RAW is WAR is also being shown in High-Definition television and is presented in Spanish tonight. It also tells us that this show is being broadcast live from the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York. A voice-over is heard from the Play-by-Play announcer, Jim Ross who hypes the event.
[JR]- Folks, we welcome you live to the HSBC Arena in Buffalo, New York for the fallout of the World Wrestling Federation’s RAW pay-per-view, Unforgiven! It seems unlikely that Unforgiven was already six days ago, because I’m still feeling the adrenaline being pumped through my veins!
[PS]- Oh, without a doubt, JR. Howdy, everybody watching us from a television set, live on TNN, Sky Sports 3 and TSN as well as various other shows. I am Michael “Purely Sexy” Hayes alongside good ol’ JR, Jim Ross on a night where we will find out who will become the next number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship!
[JR]- Oh hell yeah, in tonight’s main event it is the man who failed to pick up the World Heavyweight Championship last Tuesday, Edge taking on CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in a rematch from Unforgiven.
[PS]- Also, in a contenders match, it will be Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin, the former champions taking on Rosey and Umaga of the Samoans, the winners going to face the World Tag Team Champions, the Hardy Boyz at Halloween Havoc!
[JR]- Also on his exciting edition of RAW, we will see “Rainman” Nick Dinsmore take on the Big Red Monster, Kane for Kane’s newly won WWF Television Championship.
And also, we will find out whether Chris Jericho really does want to help Billy Kidman following the Hollywood Express’ assault on Kidman at Unforgiven. Jericho will team with Kidman to take on Joey Matthews and John Morrison tonight.
[PS]- But also, you Jim Ross, had the honor of going to Shawn Michaels’ home in San Antonio to negotiate his return to the squared-circle.
[JR]- We have not had any contact with the Heartbreak Kid since he lost his World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk in Madison Square Garden at SummerSlam.
[PS]- But you did, and that will be shown tonight live, on RAW!
Killswitch Engage begins to hit the arena, playing "This Fire Burns" loudly into the building as the fans immediately turned from a loud applause into a hostile audience. The World Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk then appears on the stage, wearing a 'Straight-Edge Superstar' maroon-colored shirt and red and black trunks. Punk's arrival displeasures the audience as he basically rubs the World Heavyweight Championship in his face, even saying countless times that he is still the champion. He begins to get excited as he reaches the bottom of the rampway and makes a left turn, heading for the steel-steps, the fabulous World Heavyweight Championship strap in both of his hands. He jogs up the steel-steps and climbs into the ring through the middle rope, then walking across the ring to hold the belt in mid-air on the second turnbuckle. The crowd boos as the lights turn dark and a stage-hand dressed in black passes a microphone to Punk, stood on the middle turnbuckle.
[Punk]- It was a hostile, cold night in downtown New York. The night I won this honored championship belt. This golden piece of magic. I have been to TNA, I have been to ROH, the entire independent circuit. And I have never ever been in possession of a championship belt this prestigous. I started my career in a dingy backyard promotion back in the mid nineties. And even my appearance then is a blurr to me. I got hurt too many times to count, yet I still never took the prescriptioned tablets. My debut on the independent circuit was a mistake, just because some other guy no-showed the event. I popularized IWA in the Mid-Southern region, with my amazing skills. I discovered myself among the critics and force-fed them with Punkness in Ring of Honor. I've been in dog collar matches, ironman matches, TLC matches and time-limit draws and have never failed to impress the critics. I appeared in Total Non-Stop Action, but they failed to provide me with any achievement or reward, narrow of a shot at their precious NWA World Tag Team Championship, so I returned to ROH. It was around that time when I got a call from one Jim Ross. Stares at Jim Ross as the camera pans to him. Yeah, you asked if me and Colt Cabana wanted to jump ships. So we did, expecting some other gold aside from the ROH Tag Team Championships. What did we find? Being dumped out after a mere three weeks by WWF Tag Team Champions, Eddie and Chavo Guerrero. That's how crap they thought we where! So I returned once again to ROH, won the World Championship only to lose it a month later to current RAW superstar, James Gibson.
A small part of the audience chant 'Gibson'. Yeah, and so I continued to wander around in the indepedent circuit. I then got called by Jim Ross once again in December of last year. He asked me if I wanted to be a WWF superstar once again. I asked for the contract to be valid so I couldn't be dumped ever again and I got it. I debuted at the end of December, came close then missed out on a shot at the Intercontinental Championship against Samoa Joe and Chris Benoit, then won the Money in the Bank battle royal match at WrestleMania, guaranteeing myself a shot at the top prize. Well I thought to myself; CM Punk, World Heavyweight Champion? That is brilliant! I changed my style, my lifestyle and my life as a whole to groom myself for the title, inevitably losing a few fans and friends in the process. Samoa Joe just happened to piss me off and then he got in some payback. He wanted my briefcase, my ticket to the top prize and I resisted his stupid Samoan tactics. I survived Joe at Fully Loaded in July, and that showed everybody that I could survive the World Heavyweight Champion, Shawn Michaels! Michaels announced, that was none of my business, that he would leave the wrestling industry forever if he lost to me, and guess what? He did! It was a hostile, cold night in New York when I won the title. It was a mat-based classic, but I did it. I defeated the best in the world. And still, I have gotten no respect in my nine months in the country....So how about I get some!?
As the lights begin to turn back on properly from darkness, and the World Heavyweight Champion begins to roll out of the ring, we hear the theme of Samoa Joe play loudly into the arena, The background of 'Perfect Strangers' by Deep Purple hits as the crowd immediately erupt in chanting 'Joe's gonna kill you'. Punk quickly heads back to the ring and rolls inside the ring as the Samoan Submission Machine appears on the stage, a microphone in hand and his trademark towel draped over both shoulders, dressed in blue and black shorts.
[Joe]-
[Punk]-[/color] Oh, Joe. You want this? Holds the World Heavyweight Championship up using one arm. Huh? Well like everybody else on this conspiritual brand's roster. You've got to earn this mother! Joe, next week on RAW is WAR. You are going to be in not one, but two matches! One of those aforementioned matches will be a match against "Rainman" Nick Dinsmore for your very own NWA Heavyweight Championship. And the other one...it will be you, going head-to-head, toe-to-toe with the Intercontinental Champion, Ken Shamrock! And the winner of your match with Shamrock will have the honor of facing me for my very own Championship. Just so I can beat you, and prove myself as the very best, fighting champion in WWF history!
'This Fire Burns' plays once again into the arena as crowd are briefly satisfied by the announcement, but CM Punk grinning and his music hitting the sound-system kills it off. Punk makes his way halfway up the ramp as Joe grins maliciously and nods along, dropping the mic onto the floor and running at Punk for a clothesline but Punk ducks and dives into the audience. Punk waves at Joe as Joe still grins at his rival.

Match #1
Time Limit: 30 Minutes
Singles Match
Bryan Danielson vs. Elijah Burke
This was quite the opening contest. Bryan Danielson made his way out to a massive applause from the audience as 'Final Countdown' played into the arena, only a spotlight lighting the arena up, shining down on him. Elijah Burke then began to make his way down the rampway, accompanied by Mark Henry of the Nation of Domination, and in a disgusting scene showed Henry in just a pair of black shorts rather than his usual attire, the respectable and appropriate singlet. The contest started off with both men circling the ring for several moments, maybe a minute or so. That's when Danielson got in the first move, locking up only for Burke to be on the receiving end of countless headbutts from Danielson, which signalled Burke to escape over the top rope, landing on his feet outside the ring. That was comic relief for the audience, as Danielson repeatedly clapped his hands in the air, awaiting Burke to actually make another move. Burke reversed Danielson's arm drag attempt, using his forearms to fend off Bryan. Burke got in offense with a discus punch and a few suplexes, using the chain wrestling and mat-based style to remain on the offense. Burke eventually decided to put in some rest holds, trying to choke Danielson out with a headlock and a sleeper, Danielson always getting his arm and keeping it up before the three count. Danielson eventually got in some more shots as Burke's dangerous southpaw was dodged and Danielson clocked Burke with his headbutt. Danielson applied some submission moves, but Burke reversed it, almost hitting Gregory Helms' signature move, the Vertebreaker only for Danielson to reverse it himself and place Burke upside down on the top rope. Danielson used a step-up knee to the jaw of Burke and hit his patented Diving Headbutt to finish off Burke for the one-two-three.
Winner: Elijah Burke [14:57]
Following the contest, Bryan Danielson celebrates on the middle turnbuckle, both arms placed up in the air, balled into fists as his name is chanted and 'Final Countdown' is played into the arena. Elijah Burke rolls out of the ring, holding his jaw as Mark Henry lifts Burke up and carries him up the rampway. Gregory Helms slowly steps out to the stage, dressed in a black sweater and jeans, shades covering his eyes. He mysteriously grins at Danielson as Bryan glares at Helms.

Tag Team Match
Chris Jericho and Billy Kidman vs. The Hollywood Express
Chris Jericho got the usual mixed reaction, despite being now allied with fan-favourite, Billy Kidman. Saliva's 'King of the World' signalled Jericho's arrival as he was the first to enter. 'You Can Run' caused the fans to get off their feets, as Kidman got a loud reaction from the viewing audience in attendence, walking down the ramp with a limp, obviously hurting after the attack from Hollywood Express last Tuesday night. Following the arrival of both Jericho and Kidman [who seemed to be getting along pretty well] was the arrival of the red carpet layout and the paparazzi, 'This Ain't No Make Believe' playing loudly into the arena. The match began with both teams deciding in pairs who would start the contest. Eventually, Kidman and Joey Matthews began. Matthews broke up the opening lock-up with a sinister slap across the face of Kidman. Matthews remained dirty all the way, using the technical moves to wear down Kidman's body and chest area. Eventually though, an abdominal stretch from Matthews was reversed and Kidman used the hurricanrana and the spinning legsissors to regain the previously lost momentum. Kidman went up for the Shooting Star Press but Matthews escaped to tag in Morrison. Jericho got the tag too and both men traded blows, then trading hurricanranas and each reversing the opponent's hip tosses, suplexes and to finish off the trading, a double dropkick. Morrison then got in some cheap momentum following a dirty low-blow, and he got set up for the running Shooting Star Press. Jericho got his knees up and prepared to apply the Liontamer. Morrison was on the verge of tapping out but Matthews ran in and nailed Jericho in the spine with a steel-chair.[/i]
Winners: Billy Kidman and Chris Jericho by DQ [20:11]
As the bell sounds repeatedly, the two members of Hollwood Express refuse to walk away, both members beating down Jericho and Kidman, Matthews with a chair in hand, jabbing Jericho in the spine and Morrison with a springboard crossbody on Kidman. An official comes out but is stalled by Morrison on the rampway. Matthews stacks Jericho on top of Kidman before going up top and coming off with a dive with the chair. Morrison and Matthews finally start to leave, celebrating their loss up the rampway, leading into the backstage area.

WWF Television Championship
Singles Match
Kane (c) vs. Lashley
Kane made his way out to the arena to usual pyro as well as his first-ever WWF theme, by the name of 'Burned. Kane then made his way down the ramp in his red and blue tights, the WWF Television Championship placed over his shoulder, not bothering to hold it up using his hand. His pyro got a loud reaction. Following Kane's arrival came Lashley, accompanied by nobody. Lashley and Kane met on the aisleway, Kane attempting an irish whip to send Lashley into the steel-steps, but Lashley reversed it and Kane knocked over the steps. Lashley picked up the top set of steps and nailed Kane in the side of the skull, it being legal due to the fact that the match had not started officially. Lashley dragged Kane into the ring and could of won with a simple pinfall but Kane managed to kick out. Lashley worked on the spine, while blood poured from the head of the Monster. Lashley used countless backbreakers and even a fallaway slam that could of gotten the Nation member disqualified for intentionally throwing Kane out of the ring via the top rope. Lashley eventually settled for a bearhug, in which he applied for several minutes, trying to make Kane wear out and lose the TV title in his first defence. Kane wouldn't go down easily however as he repeatedly tried using both arms to simultaneously ram into the sides of Lashley's head. Lashley eventually released the hold, slamming him with a belly-to-back suplex. Lashley got set up for a diving shoulder block from the top rope but Kane reversed with a simple Big Boot. Kane nailed the Chokeslam to follow up and got the cover, one-two-three.
Winner and STILL WWF Television Champion: Kane [14:51]
Kane's music hit once again as the bell rang for a second time, blood pouring from the cut just to the left side of Kane's forehead. Kane raised his arms into the air and slammed them down, signalling the four ring-posts to explode with red inferno rising from them. The referee raises his arms into the air and passes him the WWF Television Championship, then rolling backwards over the top rope, landing on his feet. But as Kane approached the ramp, he spots Mark Henry watching on, staring down Kane. Kane raises his arms for the lights and when they turn on again, Kane is gone. All Henry does is grin evilly, heading to the ring to help Lashley.

We return to the live arena to hear a mysterious theme play into the ring, named 'Turn Up The Trouble', the more slower version of the song. The crowd look confused and mutter upon themselves. And then on the stage appears Ken Kennedy, a man not seen in the World Wrestling Federation since losing to Shawn Michaels at Fully Loaded in July. Kennedy walks down the ramp to the ring, dressed in a sleeveless shirt with black pants, stepping up the ring steps and through the ropes, in the centre of the ring. The lights remain turned off, only a spotlight lighting up the arena. Kennedy dramatically reaches up for the microphone as it slowly descends from the rafters into Kennedy's reach. The crowd begin to boo.
[Kennedy]-[/color] He is the greatest man in sports entertainment, never to win a World Wrestling Federation Championship. He weighed in at two-hundred and forty-one pounds last year, and dropped down to two-hundred and thirty-seven pounds! And hailed from Green Bay, Wisconsin, not once, not twice but permamently! He ridiculed anouncer, Jeremy Borash, terrorized commentators and won matches. But still, he did not get one championship. I am...Mister.....Kennedy! The crowd boos, impatiently. I had the opportunity to win the World Heavyweight Championship back in July and the opportunity to win the King of the Ring in June, but still my time refused to come. I could of won the WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble yet my opponent was too stubborn. So now, I am going to accomplish the easier task of becoming the World Wrestling Federation....Intercontinental Champion of the World! A long pause strikes the arena, only the crowd's booing heard. So, 'World's Most Dangerous Man', Shamrock, how about you come out and confront me now, or I will be the one to make the first move...
Ken Kennedy awaits the arrival of Ken Shamrock for several moments, a group of the audience chanting 'Let's Go Shamrock' countless times. Eventually the intro of Ken Shamrock's 'Ultimate' theme song is played into the arena, immediately causing the crowd to create an ultra loud response. Shamrock walks out to the stage, the Intercontinental Championship around his waist, just above his blue trunks. He has a microphone in hand.
[Shamrock]-[/color] So, you called me out? The arena creates another loud applause. I expect you want a shot at this beautiful belt currently around my waist, huh?
[Kennedy]-[/color] You're damn right, Shamrock. But you're damn wrong at the same damn time. I don't want a shot at that belt, I deserve it! You legitimately beat people up, you're a thug, a bad role model. You, my friend should of ended up in prison so many years ago. You're a glory hog, you're holding a potential World Heavyweight Champion back while he is on a quest. Give me a damn title shot!
[Shamrock]-[/color] Shamrock stares at the audience on both sides of the ramp. You know what, Kennedy? I'll take you up on that deal. I'm in a happy mood. Alright, you can have a WWF Intercontinental Championship, but not tonight, or the next week, or the next week or the next week. Oh no, it won't even be on RAW is WAR. It'll be live on pay-per-view! In Las Vegas, Nevada. On October 28th, Ken, it'll be Ken Shamrock, the World's Most Dangerous Man and the WWF Intercontinental Champion, going one-on-one with Mr. Ken Kennedy, with the IC Championship...on the line!
Shamrock's music plays once again, the crowd exploding in applause, Kennedy grinning and nodding at Shamrock.

A video package hypes up the next RAW is WAR brand exclusive pay-per-view, Halloween Havoc which will be live on pay-per-view on October 28th, this advertisement featuring a masked Kane, Viscera [despite not being an active RAW superstar since August] and Craig Lamari, as they comment on 'fear' and that WWF superstars are fearless athletes...on the outside. Ends comically as Kane answers the door [unmasked Kane], and another, masked Kane grabs the kid from behind, causing the little bugger to run away.

Tag Team Match
Contendership for the World Tag Team Championship
Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin vs. Umaga and Rosey
A secret reunion for Rosey and Umaga, though despite both men being in the same faction as each other [The Samoans], this was their first time being paired together, obviously being teamed as one in Three Minute Warning. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, the former champions made their way out first, Haas almost getting into an argument with a guy with a sign that read 'WF owns Haas and Benjamin'. Benjamin dragged Haas away from the guy seated next to the rampway and got into the ring. Then 'Bad Man' hits, and out came the Samoans, Rosey and Umaga. They both wasted no time, but in a humorous spot, Haas and Benjamin both tried to get the first little bit of momentum in with a simultaneous crossbody over the top rope on the Samoans, yet both Rosey and Umaga caught them and gave them both scoop slams. Haas started off with Rosey, and pretty much got obliterated by the large Samoan-American's intensive power move in-ring style. Umaga got the tag but by the time the crazy monster got in there, Benjamin was now the legal man. Benjamin tried hard to keep on the offense and on top of Umaga, but his resistance wasn't strong enough and so, he got destroyed also. Haas eventually came in, as did Rosey and all four brawled all over the ringside area. The end of the match came when Umaga was deciding whether to hit a suicide dive to the outside on Haas or not. Shelton Benjamin twirled Umaga around and nailed him with the T-Bone Suplex and gained the cheap three count for the win.
Winners: Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin [12:24]
Benjamin crawls off of Umaga's body and rolls out of the ring as Rosey shoves Charlie Haas to the floor and slides under the ropes to attend to Umaga. Benjamin is met on the outside by Charlie Haas, as the two have a friendly celebration hug before raising each others hands. Rosey helps Umaga onto his knees and then the two begin to leave under the ropes.

World Heavyweight Championship
CM Punk (c) vs. Edge[/color]
It was finally time for the main event of the evening, Edge's final chance and opportunity to pick up the World Heavyweight Championship for a second time. "Metalingus" played as Edge came out slowly in blue tights and wearing a leather black jacket with Edge's symbol on the back, stopping by everywhere to socialize with the viewing audience in attendence. Edge then ran and slid under the ropes, dry-humping the canvas before mouthing for CM Punk to 'bring it' at the stage. "This Fire Burns" hits the arena as the World Heavyweight Champion began to make his way out to the arena. Edge met him midway down the aisle en route to the ring, knocking Punk down with a Spear before grabbing the World Championship and clocking CM Punk, the champion in the skull with it, the champion falling into the steel steps. Edge told Punk to bring it as the champion recovered, leant against the ring steps. Punk then ran at Edge with a flying forearm, the two beginning to battle once again. They brawled inside the squared-circle, Punk controlling after a succession of reversals from Edge. CM Punk pretty much stayed on Edge throughout the next five minutes, using his knowledge of chain and mat-based technical skill to stay on top of the offense chain. Eventually however, when getting set up for the Go To Sleep, Edge kicked Punk in the gut and, in a retalliating move, nailed Punk with a DDT. Edge fought back with countless punches and basic moves, then getting in the corner for the Spear. He ran at Punk but he got Edge on his shoulders, drilling his face into Punk's knee with the GTS out of nowhere. Punk then hooked the leg and it was over.
Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk [20:04]
"This Fire Burns" plays once again as CM Punk is barely able to stand from the beating previously suffered at the hands of Edge. The official picks him up and raises his hand, then handing him the World Heavyweight Championship belt. Punk celebrated on the middle turnbuckle, celebrating at his best. However then he saw Samoa Joe grinning at him on the stage, his NWA Heavyweight Championship over one shoulder, his trademarked towel over the other. Both men stare each other down as the warning for using trademarked property appeared in the bottom left corner of the screen. We then hear thunder, showing darkness on the screen, the WWF logo flashing by.[/center]
