After Jericho's awesome win last night, I have a question. I was thinking, and I believe that win was the first time the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship(since its been in the WWE) has changed hands in a cage match. I was wondering if anyone else noticed that, or knows of any other title changes.

No. The WWE Championship has NEVER changed hands in a steel cage, Hell in a Cell, or Elimination Chamber. The World Heavyweight Championship has changed hands a few times in a cage (HBK won it in a Chamber match).

Standard cage match, yeah.
The World Heavyweight Championship has changed hands 3 times in a cage structure. Two being the Elimination Chamber (Survivor Series '02 and New Years Revolution '05) and last night on RAW.
The WWE Title have yet to change hands in a cage like structure. Also, we have yet to see a World Title change hands in the Hell in a Cell.
Unrelated fact: Batista is not only the longest reiging World Havyweight Champion but as of November 3rd, 2008, Batista is also the shortest reiging World Heavyweight Champion.

I've got three words. Raw was live. Seven words. It is shown on Thursdays over here. Yeah and it's also shown at 2am (last night it was 1am) on Sky Sports; so you have no excuse. The show has already aired, results and information is going to be floating about so it's your own fault for thinking visiting a forum that is obviously going to contain discussion about the show would be a good idea.

Technically, it didn't change hands at nYR 05, as it was vacant. Three more words: JBL is poopy.

Four more words... In before the lock...
But anyways... It's just great to see Jericho with the title again, although you gotta wonder why they even bothered giving it to Batista in the first place. Politics? Maybe.

Was '05 the one where Cena got beat by Edge ? If so, then it doesn't count as a title change in a Cage structure, as it was highered.
Thats an interesting fact about Batista though. Longest + Shortest.
