We are of current day, a mere two weeks until Survivor Series and I am unsatisfied by the fact that there are currently no traditional Survivor Series matches. I know I put '2002' in the title despite the Elimination Chamber match being an EC, but that was the last Survivor Series to not feature the traditional survivor series matches. And if they were to squeeze in one narrow SS match, it'd be probably horribly rushed. That's what I see at the minute.

I dont understand the reasoning in calling it Survivor Series if you dont have the survivor series match? Its like having the Royal Rumble with no royal rumble or wrestlmania filled with diva matches, or lets just have SummerSlam in December

last year Survivor series was brilliant...they had so many 6man tags... that were organised a month in advance. This year will be more of a poor afterthought by the wwe I think

I dont understand the reasoning in calling it Survivor Series if you dont have the survivor series match? Its like having the Royal Rumble with no royal rumble or wrestlmania filled with diva matches, or lets just have SummerSlam in December The only one of those examples that works is the Royal Rumble one. Having a Survivor Series PPV with no survivor series matches is like: The Royal Rumble with no royal rumble match No Way Out with no no way out match WrestleMania with no wrestlemania match Backlash with no backlash match And so on. It's just a PPV name. Personally I think Survivor Series should be headed up by an interbrand survivors match this year. When they have too many survivor series matches on the show now, it doesn't work. Because back in the day, the appeal was seeing the real wrestlers team up and fight each other (in contrast to the squash matches on TV) in feud-building tag matches. But these days, we get superstars teaming up for feud-building tag matches every week on TV. But it's reasonably easy to build up one survivors match, especially in a Smackdown vs Raw context. Anyway, I think there still might be a survivors match or two this year. Look at the guys that currently have nothing booked for the PPV: Michaels JBL Orton Batista Mysterio Mark Henry Kane Jeff Hardy Punk KofiShelton R-Truth MVP Khali Santino Kendrick Miz Morrison And other than HBK vs JBL, there isn't really a straight-up singles match there. I could easily see a Batista/Rey/Punk/Kofi/HBK vs JBL/Orton/Rhodes/Henry/Kane match coming together.

But, Cameron, usually by now they'd of announced at least one traditional Survivor Series match. How can they just cram one of those traditional matches in with two weeks left? Two shows for each brand. An interbrand would of worked but it's a little too late now imo.

WWE was caught off guard again... So expect ANOTHER Survivor Series after the original one about a month later called the "Survivor Series Celebration."

SVS '02 was the ****.
This week will probably unveil things but I'm seeing Team HBK vs Team JBL already. I also think they may shy away from a title match on SD in favour of Team H vs Team Kozlov. I don't see why they wouldn't have any because they are piss easy to book.
I'm surprised SVS has lasted this long when KOTR was a much better, meaningful event and that got axed in '02.

Umm...only one match has been announced. Just wait ffs. That's not true. HHH vs Kozlov, and Undertaker vs Big Show in a casket match were both made on Smackdown. Unless I dreamt it. But WWE seem to have put all the effort into building Survivor Series completely around John Cena's return. It is odd that for such a major PPV, so little has been announced (or even built towards).

WWE wishes it was 2002 again... Who the hell would wish it was 2002 again? Did Bubba Ray Dudley in the main event turn you on? Was it the streak of terrible, terrible main event PPV matches? The only good thing that came out of 2002 was the Smackdown! six and the rise of Brock Lesnar. Other than that, 2002 was a horrible year for wrestling.

Booker T and Goldust's team was the highlight of 2002 for me. Oh, and Matt Hardy version 1.

They're trying to make the Elimination Chamber No Way Out's signature match, Wwrestlemania's signature matches could be Money in the Bank, The Royal Rumble winner vs. the Champ, Playboy/Diva match, and you know that Backlash is the rematch PPV.
