The King of Combat.
The Natural Born Champion.
This is what CJR claims.
But what is he, truly?
A loner.
A man who hasn't spent enough time at home.
A man who's spent too much time across the world.
Time to bring his mind back to the USA.
A grunt was heard a few scant seconds before a body hit a blue mat covered floor, the body being clad in a white gi suit. With a slight groan of displeasure, the person slowly got up, the person being revealed to be none other than Pohatu as he got up onto all fours. With a sudden surge of energy, the light heavyweight shot up to his feet, charging a few steps towards a slightly older man, who was in a fighting stance of his own. As Pohatu stepped into range of his arms, the younger man looking like he was going to try and go for an arm drag, the elder man twisted around. Not releasing the brunette's arm, the salt and peppered colored hair man instead just levered him over with another takedown, yet another grunt of displeasure escaping Pohatu's mouth as he hit the mouth. The obviously sensei sat back on his heels, looking at Pohatu as the young wrestler slowly got onto all fours, then sitting back on his heels just like his sensei was.
Sensei: What troubles, my student? You're usually able to flip just right and land on your feet when I take you over like that.
I suppose it's because working a double shift with my wrestling, Sensei, especially in that one fed where I took a large load of chair shots before the referee finally managed to call the bell. My coordination is a bit off. I could barely play a game of pool against one of my friends earlier today!

The sensei shook his head and droppe down, sitting in the typical way that the Native Americans were known for. Following his sensei's example, Pohatu dropped down into the same position, wincing a little bit and rubbing his knees after he had settled into it. Shaking his head again, the sensei leaned forward, quirking one brow up a bit.
Sensei: I told you; you need to lay off the amount of aerial manuvers you use, my student. If you keep it up, your knee will blow out here soon. If you want a long lasting career in what you do, you have to readjust your style so that you can stay just as offensives on the ground as you can in the air. Like your opponent this week in WFWF.
A grunt issued from Pohatu as he heard that from his sensei, casting his eyes off to the side to make it more than obvious he wasn't exactly happy to hear the mention of his upcoming match. This caused the sensei to narrow his eyes a bit, whether it be from slight anger or suspicion of something else was unknown at first, though.
Sensei: Harvey...is there something you aren't telling me?
Hesitating just a moment longer, Pohatu finally brought his blue eyes up, a slightly sheepish expression on his face.
Remember my mention of those chair shots I took? They actually knocked me out. That's why I got straight down to business when I come down here, instead of goofing around a bit like I typically do.
The sensei went wide eyed for a minute before closing his eyes and tilting his head forward, rubbing his eyes tiredly. Lowering his hands back down, he cast a slight care at the young wrestler, clearly annoyed at what he just heard.
Sensei: THAT'S why you beefed up your work-out routine to twice a day, instead of just the once a day usual? I told you before; no matter how hard of a head you think you have, it won't always be completely invincible. It was just a matter of time until someone finally managed to knock out with those weapons.
I know, I know. I just feel a bit ashamed...as if I let the fans down by allowing myself to be taken down like that.
Sensei: Be that as it may, you can't allow that to hinder your progress in WFWF. You've gone two and none so far, so far you to allow a loss in that other, WORTHLESS, federation to hinder your abilities here is absolutely impossible to allow. Now, what do you know about Mister CJR?
Pohatu leaned back a bit, tilting his head from side to side, which caused an audible 'crack-crack' to be heard on both sides. Tilting his head back to it's typical positioning, he leaned forward a bit again, thinking for a few seconds before finally answering him.
I know he's gone over to Japan, along with visiting Mexico. He uses a lot of strikes, and he tends to incorporate a lot of aerials into his mat work in order to make them more effective. He also seems to think that by staying alone, he keeps himself at his best.
The sensei nodded in a slightly proud manner at the answer, leaning back in a slightly relaxed manner.
Sensei: So, you HAVE been doing research on him, even if it just a small amount. What does he try to finish matches with, though? That way you can avoid letting him work on those parts of your body.
The young man had to lean back and think about his answer again for a second, even going as far as allowing his blue eyes to come to a close as he did so. Nodding after about ten seconds, he brought his body forward again, his eyes floating open.
An impact driver variation, which I think is one of those maneuvers where the victim just gets dropped onto his head. The other one is, quite simply,a springboard roundhouse kick.
The sensei quicklly shot up to his feet, taking a few quick steps forward to whack Pohatu upside the head with just two fingers, though he hit him directly in the temple. With a yelp of 'ow!', the young brunette, tilting his body slightly away from his sensei. The sensei sat down calmly, though now sitting directly in front of his apprentice, instead of a few steps away.
Sensei: Never call something, even a roundhouse kick variation, a 'simple' move, my student. Executed perfectly, any move could a knock out maneuver. Understood?
Pohatu nodded wordlessly to the question, his eyes cast downward in a clearly embarassed fashion, his one hand still up and holding the spot where he had been whacked. Nodding in return, the sensei sat back just a bit, crossing his arms across his chest.
Sensei: Now, as I understand it, from what you've told me, most of his moves will focus around hitting your head, so that when he delievers one of these finishes, you'll be instantly knocked out. The only way I really see of counteracting this plan of his...is to just headbutthim whenever he decides to try and hit your head.
The brunette furrowed his brows together as he raised his eyes up to look at his sensei, clearly confused by the plan. The elder man chuckled a little bit at the expression on his apprentice's face, shaking his head once before leaning forward to explain.
Sensei: When he tries to use one of those chops on your head, just tilt your head forward and headbutt the lower part of his hand, perferrably near his wrist. When he attempts a DDT on you, reverse it with a northern lights suplex. If he tries to hit a butterfly suplex on you, just stand up and either shake him off or drop down to your butt and deliver a kudoh driver variation. As for a lung blower...well, I'm not completely sure how to counter out of that, but you get the idea, right? Just don't let him weaken your head down. Instead, weaken down the things he uses to try and weaken it down.
The enthusiastic nodding of Pohatu made it clear he understood the plan completely, an equally excited grin on his face.
In order to do that, though, I'll have to stay on my toes. And shouldn't I also attempt to strike him back? Chop for chop, punch for punch, etc etc?
Sensei: No, not at all. Whenever he tries to hit your head, just headbutt him. Don't waste energy by attacking him back. Save your energy for later on in the match, that way, when the time comes, you'll have no excuse to NOT hit one of those stunning finishers of your's.
With one last nod, the multi-time tag champion stood up, his sensei standing up at the same time.
Domo arigato, Sensei. I don't know what I would do without you.
Sensei: You would end up flat on your back each week, that's what.
The two chuckled before walking to oppisite ends of the room. The sensei walking back over to a desk as Pohatu walked out the exit as we fade...to...black.
