Well with christmas only a few weeks away, and with all the stuff on the news tonight about how our Govt. needs to tackle the financial state of the UK after the queen's (waste of space) speech, how has the credit crunch changed your life?
Personally, I haven't really seen any effects directly impact me. Although, a few family friends have been made redundent in the past 2 weeks which was kinda shocking.
Being a Uni student, I have tried to save as much as I can - as it seems the worst is yet to come - e.g. won't always go out and buy my lunch (subway sandwiches used to be a regular fav of mine but can cost up to £25 a week!) when I can just come home and eat in the afternoon.
Probably won't buy as many things as compared to other years this crimbo either just to be on the safe side.
What about you lot?

Basically its an excuse for companies to get rid of as many people as they want without having to feel the wrath... its a load of utter bollox... simple solution, make fairer trading with other countries, stop ripping them off, so when they start growing (ala China), they wont feel they need to do the same to us. Big companies need to be screened a lot closer by watchdog agencies , they need to have price restraints. If peoples wages dont go up as much as the price of living... this is what happens. The fact that the govt think the best thing to do is borrow billions of quids, to only pay it back in a few years is ing hilarious.. we will be a lot more up shlt street when that time comes around. Some people still blame everything on Americas financial problems, DONT SUCK ON AMERICAS RING PIECE THEN WE WONT GET crap ON... no other european country is ed, why should we stand for it. Its also the fact that they come up with these gimmick phrases too. 'Credit crunch'.. its so laughable... just like when they 'sexed up the dossier'. Or Owens 'Fifth Metatarsal'... its the joining to the toe for sake.. thats all we need to know, not the same stupid unneeded phrase shouted at us every day for months on end. end of post work rant... soz

It's affected me, my wages don't go as far as they did this time last year and I'm currently making double what I did back then.

I think it has affected all of us in some way. Such as me going to college my bus pass is going up twice a year, and if it does again I'm going to start taking driving lessons! Also I feel like I don't get as much for my money at lunch times anymore, with all food prices being raised and stuff. On the good side however CD's and DVD's are cheaper now than they've ever been! So a recesssion isn't all doom and gloom (if you're not a home owner like me)

Some people still blame everything on Americas financial problems, DONT SUCK ON AMERICAS RING PIECE THEN WE WONT GET **** ON... no other european country is ed, why should we stand for it. Last time I checked Iceland was in a lot of financial trouble - and that didnt help us. The economic problems are being felt all over the world, not just here. Hasnt affected me in the slightest though so I just think theyre making a mountain out of a molehill

I suppose it has.
I just about never eat fast food, and when I do it's because my parents went some where and brought me back something.
So cooking everything myself I have noticed the price of fresh meat has gone up.

Hasn't effected me in the slightest. Infact, if anything, I'm better off, now, than before. Same here tbh.

I think it's a good thing. It means people won't go out and buy useless things they don't need and hopefully it will show everyone that money isn't the most important thing in life

I work in the gaming/gambling industry so it didn't effect me. In fact, my industry actually prospers in times of recession. Also, I get paid by an American company, which means my income has increased.
