^^ Um I'm not a guy and apparently you missed what I posted...I was not saying water boarding is not torture. However, they are doing more than water boarding that is acceptable torture i.e. sleep deprivation.

These silly rules are the reason terrorists think they can push us around. Unfortunately, these rules are what separates us from those animals.

Their reaction to that 1st backdoor entry would be alone worth it.

It avoids the sexist thing of guys and girls, where guys are not boys. Wierd, I know, but instilled in me by my militant ex-girlfriend who was gender-queer. Long story. Anyways you stated earlier in the thread that your Counter-terrorism book stated it was an approved torture, and I was just pointing out we cannot through international law approve it as a interogation method if we have prosecuted it as a torture.

Who the cares if some terrorist bunghole gets tortured? Those who care about human rights. When you plan the worst attack on US soil, I think you lose all human rights from that point on..

Do you feel the people who mastermind the complete destruction of a totally civilian city and resulting the deaths of 24,000 civilians should be tortured?

I will just assume by now you realize that most of the people arguing for a torture fest fail to remember what the United States has done in the past....My Lai comes to mind....

Ehh... you ruined the gist. See I was counting on him not knowing I was talking about the US bombing Dresden, and when he said yes say "strap good ole FDR to the waterboard, cuz he did that to dresden." Everyone wants to criticize the terrorists for using the same tactics we have used frequently. The only reason why people are so opposed to it is because they are doing it against us. Before I get flamed, I do not support the 9/11 attacks. It was cowardly and despicable. So were Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I'm not the only one who thought it was ridiculous to drop the atomic bombs? YAY! Well there is at least three of us...I did my final paper for a class on the bombings and I read a lot of books and articles from both sides and while yeah it might have been a good argument for the bombings, it still was not neccessary. Yes, they may have been preparing children to use guns but dropping bombs on innocent villages is not going to solve anything...

How is that a war crime? Seriously... ARR do you just like to throw around terms you know nothing about... War Crime (n.) - Any of various crimes, such as genocide or the mistreatment of prisoners of war, committed during a war and considered in violation of the conventions of warfare.

There is no formal declaration of war between the United States and any other country right now. Well, that depends on the deifinition of war. Now, Bush declared war on terror (how you declare war on an emotion I don't know) and had full backing by the military. Plus, the terrorists are termed "enemy combatants", which would mean it is a war.
