January 9th, 2009 Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana
Smackdown kicks off with a video package showing the first two matches of the number one contender’s mini-tournament. It shows Triple H beating Edge, then getting attacked by Umaga. It then shows Shelton Benjamin beating the Undertaker after the lights in the arena went out and Undertaker was found laid out in the middle of the ring. Tazz & Jim Ross welcome us to the sold-out arena and remind us that tonight Shelton Benjamin will take on Triple H to determine Jeff Hardy’s opponent at the Royal Rumble. Also tonight, we will determine the number one contender for the Divas Championship.
Vickie Guerrero, Edge & Umaga come out to start the show. Vickie says that last week she hired Umaga to take care of Triple H, just like she said she would. She wants to make Triple H pay for injuring the Big Show and eliminating Edge from the Mini-Tournament last week. Triple H comes out with his sledgehammer and doesn’t even say a word, he just come down the ramp and gets in the ring and goes right after Umaga. Umaga hits Triple H before he can use the sledgehammer but they still go back and forth until Edge jumps in and it become a two-on-one situation. Jeff Hardy runs to the ring with a chair in hand and Umaga and Edge scatter. Umaga wants to get back in but Vickie tells him no and says that tonight, Jeff Hardy will take on Umaga in a non-title match. Hardy goes to check on Triple H but gets pushed away. Commercial Break.
Singles Match Hurricane Helms vs. MVPBefore the match began, MVP got on the microphone and reminded us that the next clause in his contract is up at the Royal Rumble. If he doesn’t win by then, he’ll have to restructure his contract, and this time, for less money. He announces that he’s in the 2009 Royal Rumble, meaning that if he doesn’t win before the Rumble, he must actually win the Rumble which is something he plans to do anyway. This was a very good match with two fine athletes. It went about 10 minutes with MVP coming very close to victory after hitting the Playmaker. Helms kicked out though and MVP got mad and began to argue with the referee which allowed Helms to hit him with a reverse DDT and then a Shining Wizard. Winner: Hurricane HelmsPost match, MVP is furious that he lost the same way he did two weeks ago to Jimmy Wang Yang, all because he argued with the referee. Commercial Break. We come back to see Shane McMahon and Vickie Guerrero in their office. Vickie’s complaining to Shane that Edge should be allowed in their office like he used to be. Shane says its part of him having some power on Smackdown. He also says that if he had a funny feeling that Vickie knows something about what happened to the Undertaker last week. So, he makes a change to tonight’s match between Jeff Hardy & Umaga. He turns it into a tag match, with Umaga & Edge on one side, and Jeff Hardy & The Undertaker on the other.
We now see the New Hart Foundation backstage. TJ Wilson tells Natalya that tonight is her night to go out and get a Divas Title shot. Then they’ll win their tag match tonight and keep going towards the WWE Tag Titles.
Now we get a video package hyping the return of Mr. Kennedy, which will be at the Royal Rumble.Commercial Break.
Number One Contender for Divas Title Fatal Four Way Maria vs. Maryse vs. Natalya vs. VictoriaWith Victoria & Natalya being friends they worked together early to take down the other two divas. They overpowered Maryse & Maria and after a double suplex on Maria, Victoria went for the cover but Natalya broke it up. They got in each other’s faces and got into a fist fight. Victoria got the better of that until Maryse got involved and hit Victoria with her DDT. Natalya knocked Maryse out of the ring. Maria ran in and went for her handstand kick but Natalya caught her legs and ended up locking on the Sharpshooter for the win. Winner: NatalyaAfter the match, Natalya signaled that the Divas Title would soon be hers. Jeff Hardy is seen backstage as he finds Triple H. He tells Triple H that he was helping him earlier and he should’ve appreciated it. Triple H says that he doesn’t need anybody’s help and Jeff Hardy might be the one who needs help at the Royal Rumble. Commercial Break. In the back, Hurricane Helms enters Shane & Vickie’s office. Helms goes straight to Shane and asks for a United States Title shot at the Royal Rumble. Vickie gets up and asks what has Helms done to deserve it. Helms says that he’s beaten Shelton before, he won tonight and he won the fatal four way last week. Shane says he makes a good point but there’s a chance Shelton will be in the WWE Title match. At this point Natalya walks in and says that she wants her Divas Title shot at the Rumble. Shane & Vickie agree on that and they tell Helms that they’ll keep his title shot in mind if Shelton loses tonight. Title Shot at Royal Rumble Mini-Tournament Finals United States Champion Shelton Benjamin vs. Triple HThese two are no strangers to each other and this match proved it as it was the best of their encounters. Benjamin out worked The Game on the mat early on, but Triple H began to take over after a few minutes with a suplex & some ground work. After another 7 or so minutes the match really got good. Triple H nailed him with a knee to the face, and then hit a spinebuster. Triple H picked him up for a Pedigree but Shelton got out and hit him with an Exploder. He covered but Triple H kicked out. Shelton went for Paydirt but Triple H threw him off before he came down with it. At this point, Umaga came down to ringside and Triple H ran out and started fist fighting with him. Umaga won the fist fight, then hit him with the Samoan Spike and rolled him into the ring. Shelton covered but got a very close two count. Shelton waited for Triple H to get up and hit the Paydirt for the win this time. Winner: Shelton BenjaminAfter the match, Shelton left the ring celebrating as Umaga got in the ring, picked up Triple H and hit him with another Samoan Spike. For the second straight week, Triple H is left lying in the ring after a beating from Umaga.Commercial Break.
Singles Match Jimmy Wang Yang vs. The Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel JacksonThe Brian Kendrick looked very good in this match. He seemed to be quicker than the very fast Yang here as he hit some big high flying moves. Yang got back into it with a cross body off the top. He followed that up with a spinning heel kick and a body slam. He went to the top for his moonsault as Kendrick was getting up but Ezekiel got on the apron. Yang instead, jumped on Ezekiel and took him out. Yang got back in the ring and immediately got hit with The Kendrick and was down for the three count. Winner: The Brian Kendrick After the match, the lights in the arena go out. The Undertaker came on the titantron and talked about what happened last week. He said that whoever did that should know that he is the master of mind games and whoever’s trying to use mind games on him needs to understand that it will not work. He says that whoever it is either needs to reveal themselves, or stop before they get in way over their head. The lights come back on and Kendrick looks scared in the ring, and Yang looks scared outside the ring.Commercial Break. Smackdown returns to see Eve and Michelle McCool backstage, when the Great Khali and Ranjin walk up to the them. Ranjin offers to for either girl to be on the Kiss Cam. Eve agrees and kisses Khali. Michelle laughs on the side until she’s attacked by Natalya. Natalya keeps beating on her until security breaks it up. Tag Team Match Jesse & Festus vs. The New Hart FoundationThis was the first time we got to see the New Hart Foundation in action as a tag team. Carlito & Primo were on commentary. Wilson & Smith worked really well together. They cut the ring in half to beat on the smaller Jesse, used frequent tags and nailed some pretty double team moves. The tag team wrestling they used was so good that they didn’t allow Jesse to make the tag to Festus at all. The New Hart Foundation ended it when they hit the Hart Attack clothesline on Jesse. Winners: The New Hart FoundationJim Ross puts over how impressive TJ Wilson & Harry Smith looked in this match. Carlito and Primo get in the ring after being taunted by the Hart Foundation. The two teams brawl until Carlito & Primo get the better and knock them out of the ring.Commercial Break.Tag Team Main Event Edge & Umaga vs. WWE Champion Jeff Hardy & The UndertakerThis was a pretty evenly contested match. Both teams looked really good and as always, the heel tag team worked on the smaller half of their opponents. Jeff wasn’t making it easy though as he was fighting back and even hit Edge with the Whisper of the Wind. He went for the tag but Umaga got in and knocked Undertaker off the apron. Umaga began to beat on Jeff but Jeff got away with an enziguri and made the tag. Undertaker came in and beat on both of his opponents. He hit Umaga with a big boot and then went after the now legal man, Edge. He grabbed Edge for the Chokeslam but Edge kicked him in the stomach. He ran off the ropes but again got caught in a Chokeslam. Undertaker hoisted him up but, like last week, the lights went out. When they came back on Umaga and Jeff were fighting outside and Edge was on top of Undertaker, who was laid out and the referee counted the three. Winners: Edge & UmagaAfter the match, Edge and Umaga left the ring, while Jeff Hardy got back in the ring and went to the referee, who was checking on The Undertaker. At this point, Shelton Benjamin ran down and grabbed Hardy and hit him with Paydirt. He stood over Jeff Hardy as Smackdown went off the air. © WWE 2009

Nice opening segment to advance things. I like what you're doing with MVP and the phases, beginning at the Rumble. Nice touch there with Edge not being allowed to hang out in the office. Natalya winning is fine, although I couldn't picture her holding the Divas Title. Really surprised Shelton won; he got huge wins over Taker & now HHH, glad he's getting a good push. I just feel like this should have been the main event, because #1 contender's matches usually are. Glad TBK won. Really wondering what is up with this Taker stuff, you certainly have me interested. I'm guessing we'll find out now and it'll set something up for Mania. Nice show overall, keep it up man.

Hmm... nice to see some good newcomers. I sucked when I first joined so I solute you're goodness right now. I'm not liking the Hardy/Taker team. Edge/Umaga seems too real so that's good. Having The Hart Foundation is good. PLEASE sign Tyler black. I would of rather seen him team with Edge. I think they would work good together. I don't like Taker getting beat down. Seems too much OOC. I like TBK squashing but not Jimmy Wang. The Khali segment was meh-ish. Shelton beating HHH must of been huge. I'm glad Helms and Natlya won. Keep up the great work.

January 12th 2009 Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri
We get a video package showing clips of last week’s main event which featured World Champion John Cena taking on John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Shawn Michaels in a handicap match. It shows how Cena won the match. Michael Cole & Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to RAW. They announce that tonight is the contract signing for John Cena & JBL’s title match at the Royal Rumble. Plus, Batista goes one-on-one with Mike Knox, while Randy Orton takes on Rey Mysterio. Also, we will find out who answers Chris Jericho’s open challenge. Singles Match Paul Burchill w/ Katie Lea Burchill vs. Kofi KingstonThis was a very good contest with two of the top contenders for the Intercontinental Title and it got the crowd hot for the rest of the night. Kofi got off to a hot start here by using a fast paced offense. Burchill got his offense in after a few and they went back and forth for another few minutes. The finish came when Kofi used his athleticism and jumped onto Burchill in the corner for ten punches. After three punches, Burchill got out of the corner and power bombed Kofi to the mat. He followed up with the Curb Stomp for the win. Winner: Paul BurchillWe cut to the back where we see Shawn Michaels walking towards the arena.Commercial Break.Shawn Michaels comes out and gets on the microphone. He talks about how he hates the fact the he has to follow JBL’s rules. It eats him up inside. He should be fighting for the World Title at the Royal Rumble. He says that he shouldn’t have been part of a handicap match last week and that maybe he should say forget it when it comes to JBL. Last week, JBL laid him out with a chair and they were tag team partners. Maybe he should lay JBL out with a chair tonight. The crowd gets really excited at this, but they end up disappointed when Michaels says that he can’t do any of this, and that he must continue down the path he is on.
We cut to the back, where Legacy is talking. Orton says that he’s going to take out Rey Mysterio tonight, just because he knows how much it’s going to pain Batista. He tells Cody Rhodes to get ready for his match, as he’s going against a mystery opponent tonight. Rhodes looks a little unsettled as he begins to get ready.Commercial Break.
Singles Match Cody Rhodes w/ Manu vs. Mystery OpponentThe mystery opponent turned out to be Cody Rhodes’ former partner, the returning Hardcore Holly. Rhodes didn’t seem to happy about this and looked nervous as the match started. Holly took it to him early on, hitting him with some stiff shots and some power moves. He stayed in control for a few minutes until Manu tripped him up. This gave Rhodes the upper hand. He begn to take over the match, and in the end he took out Holly with a DDT. Winner: Cody RhodesSantino Marella and Beth Phoenix are backstage. Santino’s talking about how he’s going to win the Royal Rumble and go onto WrestleMania to win the World Title from John Chena. Beth says that right now that doesn’t matter, all that matters is her getting her Women’s Title back. Santino says oh yea that too like it’s not important, which like last week, seems to upset the Glamazon.Commercial Break. As we come back, we see Jamie Noble and Kelly Kelll talking together. Charlie Haas comes up to them and says he has a proposition for Noble. He said he’s going to stop with all this impersonation stuff and he wants to go back to being Charlie Haas. He says what Haas does best is Tag Team wrestling, and he feels that himself & Noble can be the top tag team on RAW. Their technical abilities mixed together would be too much for any other team to match. Noble says it sounds interesting, but give him a week to think it over. Divas Tag Team Match Beth Phoenix & Katie Lea Burchill w/ Santino Marella vs. Women’s Champion Melina & Mickie JamesBeth seemed to just want to get her hands on Melina, as her loss of the Women’s Title seems to have made her a little crazy. Katie Lea and Mickie looked very good against each other as they are two of the best women on the WWE roster. After a few minutes of back and forth action between the two women, Mickie tagged in Melina. Beth ran in and went right after her and they brawled for a few before the referee took Beth out back to her corner. Eventually Katie Lea did manage to get the tag to Beth. Beth and Melina had a great battle for a few minutes but they both eventually made the tag. Beth ran right outside and kept fighting with Melina once they made the tags though. Mickie went for her DDT on Katie Lea, but she reversed it into a Nothern Lights Suplex for the win. Winners: Beth Phoenix & Katie Lea BurchillAfter the match, Melina & Phoenix kept brawling until we went to commercial.Commercial Break.Stephanie McMahon is shown in her office. She announces that for the first time ever, there will be a match to determine which brand gets the most superstars in the Royal Rumble. Next week on RAW, it will be a triple threat match with a superstar representing each show. The winning show will get 12 stars in the Rumble, the brand who’s wrestler gets pinned will only get 8 superstars and the brand that’s not involved in the pinfall will get 10 superstars. Also, the man who gets pinned next week, will have to enter the Royal Rumble at unlucky number one. The superstar representing RAW next week, will be none other than former Intercontinental Champion, Kofi Kingston.
Backstage, we see CM Punk & Kofi Kingston watching on a monitor. Punk says congrats to Kofi for representing RAW and that he hopes Kofi can win the Rumble. Kofi says he wants to know who his opponents are but he’s also wondernig what are Punk’s plans for tonight. He heard William Regal isn’t in the arena tonight. Punk says he has something planned for tonight, just wait.Commercial Break.
Singles Match Randy Orton vs. Rey MysterioThis match was pretty short, but actually was still good. It seemed as if all Orton wanted to do was hurt Mysterio, instead of trying to win. He kept hitting Rey in the head and tried to punt him, but Mysterio moved out of the way. Mysterio got the upper hand for about three minutes, then he nailed Orton with a dropkick that sent him to the outside. Orton climbed back in, but with a chair in hand. Mysterio hit him in the stomach before he could use it and ran off the ropes. While he ran, Orton quickly picked up the chair and nailed Mysterio. Winner by DQ: Rey MysterioOrton went to hit him again but Mike Knox came out and started just stomping on Mysterio. Orton didn’t look too happy about this, but then Batista ran down and Orton quickly left the ring.Singles Match Batista vs. Mike KnoxBatista ran in and the match started right away. He began to beat on Knox as Mysterio rolled out of the ring. Batista made a mistake early on and turned his back to Knox, to look at Mysterio being check on by the referees outside, and that allowed Knox to hit him from behind and take the upper hand. Knox hit a back breaker and a fallaway slam. He still looked kind of sluggish in the ring, but did hit some decent moves. Batista got momentum back on his side and threw Knox into the corner, but he squashed the referee in the process. Mysterio began to get up and watched as Batista hit Knox with a spinebuster. Batista told Mysterio to do it, and Mysterio waited for Knox to get up and hit him with the West Coast Pop. Batista picked up Knox and hit the Batista Bomb for the win as the referee got up in time to make the count. Winner: BatistaRey Mysterio & Batisa celebrate in the ring together.Commercial Break.Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring. He reminds us all that he has issued an open challenge to for tonight to prove that he really is the best wrestler on the planet. He calls our whoever accepts his challende. “This Fire Burns” by Killswitch Engage plays as CM Punk comes to the ring. Michael Cole reminds us that Jericho won the World Title as Punk’s replacement back at Unforgiven. Singles Match Chris Jericho vs. CM PunkThis was a great match, arguably the best on RAW in the past few weeks. Jericho outworked Punk with some great mat wrestling early on, but Punk came back and took over. They went through about ten minutes of back and forth action. Jericho worked on Punk’s legs during that time and it showed throughout the match. Punk got the upper hand when he hit a springboard clothesline and his knee to the face in the corner. He hit his bulldog and called for the GTS. He picked up Jericho for it, but his leg gave way and he dropped him. At this point, Layla came down to ringside and got in the referee’s face. William Regal came through the crowd and got in the ring. He nailed Punk with the brass knuckles and lef the ring. Layla got away from the referee and he turned around to see Jericho lock Punk in the Walls of Jericho. Punk was knocked out and couldn’t respond to the referee so the match was over. Winner: Chris JerichoJericho got out of the ring and raised his arms in victory. Regal and Layla smiled toward the ring as Punk got up. Kofi Kingston ran down and threw Regal into the ring where Punk, despite still being hurt, began to wail on him. Punk hit him with rights and lefts galore until Regal fell down and rolled out of the ring.Commercial Break. As we come back, the ring was set up with a table in the middle and Stephanie McMahon standing there. There was also a few lawyers on one side of the ring. JBL came out first and stood on the side of the ring with all the lawyers. John Cena came down and sat on the other side. Stephanie said that Cena has looked over the contract and agreed to everything, but JBL wants all his lawyers to read over it. While they read over it, JBL got on the microphone and began talking about how Cena better not get used to holding that title, as he will take it at the Royal Rumble and go on to have a great World Title reign, very much like his record setting WWE Title reign. Cena said try as he might, he’s not going to take the World Title from him because he will fight to the death to keep it. JBL’s lawyers finished reviewing the contract and both men signed it. Stephanie said she wanted a handshake. Cena put his hand out and JBL shook it. JBL took his other hand and slapped him in the face. Cena became furious and flipped the table over and began to brawl with JBL. He ended the brawl by nailing him with an FU to the outside of the ring. Cena held up the World Title as the show came to an end.© WWE 2009

A decent way to kick off this edition of WWE RAW with Kofi Kingston in action against Paul Burchill. I hope that the sign of Burchill winning could lead to the uprising of Paul Burchill's push in the WWE? I hope so. Nice little teasing promo cut by Shawn Michaels, I hope you put an end to this storyline, to be honest. Cody Rhodes beating Hardcore Holly, I suppose that's fine but I think Holly should be on his way out, now. Beth Phoenix and Katie-Lea Burchill beating Melina and Mickie James is also good to see as it could lead to the uprising of Katie-Lea's push in the WWE hopefully. Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio always have solid matches with one-another, the DQ finish is mildly dissappointing but I'm happy where you're taking this. Batista beating Mike Knox is good, depush Knox as he is a truly big waste of space. Chris Jericho and CM Punk as the featured bout is fine, Jericho winning is good. Finally, nice contract signing to finish off WWE RAW, predictably ending with John Cena standing tall. I know JBL won't win at Royal Rumble (I wish he would though), but I really wish you'd give him some momentum going into it.

Not a huge fan of Kofi/Burchill opening the show. Raw usually has to open wtih a bang to keep viewers interested. I liked HBK getting the crowed riled up for no reason. Excellent choice to put Holly against Rhodes. I liked the attempt with Santino dialogue. Keep in mind, if you're putting stuff that an actual wrestler said, quotation marks are probably a good idea. Haas/Noble makes sense to boost a weak tag division. I like the creativity with the Steph announcement. Weird, but interesting stuff with Orton-Rey. Glad Batista picked up the W. Realistic way to end Raw, although I was expecting HBK to appear. Overall nice show again.

The card for the Rumble looks pretty solid, but I can't see Punk and Regal being in the Rumble match because no one really ever has a regular match and is in the Rumble as well like back in the day. I'm glad that your pushing Burchill. Realistic segment with HBK. I was going to have Holly return in a match with Cody in my diary, but you beat me to it. Haas and Noble should be interesting a team, but I can't really see them going anywhere. Good Divas match, but I would have liked it better if Beth pinned Melina or Melina pinned Beth, to add to their heat. I'm cerious to see who else will be in the Triple Threat match for the 12 Rumble spots. I can see Kofi winning, as RAW is the flagship show and all. Orton getting DQ'ed is realistic and all, especially for it not being a PPV match, and against a somewhat top guy. Batista beating Knox is fine, I don't really care for either of them. I love how Punk accepted Jericho's challenge, because they always have good matches with each other, and Jericho winning makes it even better.

This is really good stuff. Like the stuff between HBK and JBL that's going on. Glad to see your pushing Burchill and Burke and Helms. Don't like the jobbing out of Kofi very much, just me though. Love how your putting a great emphasis on the IC Title feud between Regal and Punk. Another push I'm really like is your Rhodes push. The Second City Saints in ECW should be great. Just try to be a little more consistent with fonts and choose one to roll with. Nice job.

Raw was a good show.
Opener sounded good and good win for Burchill. I hope Kofi can come back from the loss.
Michaels & JBL storyline is getting interesting but I hope you end it sometime around the Royal Rumble as I would hate it to go till Wrestlemania.
Good win for Cody Rhodes, I hope him and Legacy start getting somewhere soon and hopefully DiBiase can return soon.
Glamarella breaking up? Good move I guess Beth doesn't need Santino and Santino needs a change in order to make it in WWE. Charlie Hass & Noble as a tag team is fantastic I hope they do team up and become champions in the future.
Tag Diva match sounded good and glad Beth & Katie got the win. Melina as champ is good but I hope she loses at Wrestlemania against Beth, Mickie James, or Katie Lea unless you do something amazing with Kelly Kelly and she gets a Playboy push.
The Triple Threat match sounds well good. I hope Kofi does well and then puts in a good performance at the Rumble. I hope Punk & Regal turn up in the Rumble despite having a match. I dont think they have done it recently where if you have a match on the show you can still enter the Rumble but they used to and worked fine.
Good win for Mysterio to keep both men strong. I could see Orton winning the Rumble but I dont know If I want him to.
Didn't care for Batista vs. Knox but good win for Batista I guess. I hope he doesn't win the Rumble and Orton maybe punts him in the head soon.
Punk vs. Jericho sounds like a great match. Regal coming in was a good choice and like him knocking Punk out with the Brass Knuckles allowing Jericho to win. The post match attack on Regal was good too. I am not sure which man I want to win at Rumble. Punk deserves a Midcard title other than the Tag Title but Regal is a great champion.
Contract signing was good and was just like JBL to have his lawyers there to read it. Surprised HBK wasn't there to be like protection or something for JBL. Cena attacking JBL after and hitting the FU to the outside was good and I hope he retains at Rumble.
Overall another good show. Rumble is looking great and I cant wait to see it. Look forward to ECW.

WWE.com had just announced that starting this Saturday night, they will be bringing back WWE Velocity. This time around though, the show is internet only, will feature 3 matches a week and it will showcase all three WWE brands.

Bringing back Velocity is a really good concept. Seeing it will have all three brands is even better. When I saw the logo I thought you were replacing ECW. I'll be reading.

January 13th, 2009 Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois
ECW opens with a video package showing last week’s brawl between Vladimir Kozlov & ECW Champion Matt Hardy and the announcement that they will go at it at the Royal Rumble in an Extreme Rules match.
The great Slammy award winning announce team of Matt Striker and Todd Grisham welcome us to ECW and remind us that tonight’s main event will be the finale of the rivalry between Finlay and Mark Henry in a Steel Cage!General Manager Theodore Long and his assistant Tiffany come down to the ring. Long had two announcements to make. The first being that next week on Raw, ECW needs a representative in the Royal Rumble Triple Threat match. He says that while he’s not friends with the man, he chooses one half of the World Tag Team Champions and former Intercontinental Champion, John Morrison. Next he says that last week he made his big announcement of a TV Title Tournament. This week, he will add to it. He will announce the eight participants in the Tournament. As we already know, DJ Gabriel and The Boogeyman will be in it. He then announces that ECW’s newest tag team, the Second City Saints are also pretty good singles wrestlers and both Ace Steel & Scotty Goldman will be involved. The fifth competitor will be “The All-American American” Jack Swagger and the sixth competitor will be Finlay. The seventh man will be the Second City Saints’ partner later tonight, the returning Evan Bourne! The crowd goes crazy hearing this. Finally, the eighth man hasn’t been chosen yet, but there are three competitors up for it and they will fight right now in a triple threat match for the final spot.Triple Threat Match for a Spot in the TV Title Tournament Chavo Guerrero vs. Gavin Spears vs. Ricky OrtizThis was a really quick 4 minute match. Chavo seemed mad that he wasn’t automatically chosen for the Tournament, but he has suffered a few losses as of late. He managed to pick up the win fairly easily here as Ortiz has looked lost lately and although Spears showed some signs of fire, it wasn’t enough. Chavo hit Ortiz with the Frog Splash to end it. Winner: Chavo Guerrero
Commercial Break. As we come back from commercial, DJ Gabriel is seen backstage with Alicia Fox. They’re talking to Kung Fu Naki and say that they want to give him dancing lessons. Kung Fu Naki keeps saying no but they keep pushing it until he leaves. Gabriel wonders what Funaki’s problem is and they go into a room. The room is pitch black and suddenly the Boogeyman’s theme plays and a red light is seen. The Boogeyman comes out from the darkness and begins singing London Bridge; he then breaks his clock on his head as Gabriel & Fox run out of the room.Six Man Tag Match Evan Bourne & The Second City Saints vs. Jack Swagger and World Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The MizThis being the second time the Tag Champs teamed with Swagger, they worked very well as a team. Meanwhile, their opponents are all ROH alums, so they were no strangers to each other either. Bourne looked great in his return from injury as he hit all of his high flying spots. Swagger and the champs were their usual great selves. It was the Saints that impressed the crowd here as they showed some real talent and the crowd really got into them. The Miz went for his clothesline in the corner on Goldman but he got out of the way. He then picked up Miz and hit a double underhook overhead back breaker. He made the tag to Bourne and immediately ran and knocked Swagger off the apron. Steel ran down and battled with Morrison outside. Bourne hit the Shooting Star Press for the win. Winners: Evan Bourne and The Second City Saints
Commercial Break.
Tag Team Match Matt Hardy & Tommy Dreamer vs. Vladimir Kozlov & Elijah BurkeKozlov and Burke didn’t really mesh well as a team but Hardy & Dreamer did fine. They seemed to enjoy working together. Anyway, this was a decent match, and for the first seven or so minutes, Kozlov & Burke dominated Dreamer, despite a few miscommunications. Dreamer managed to make the hot tag to Hardy, who came in and nailed Burke & Kozlov with a flurry of offense. Matt took control and hit Burke with the Side Effect. He tagged back in Dreamer and went right after Kozlov. They fought on the outside while Dreamer set up for the DDT. Burke got out of it and hit him with a bug uppercut. He whipped him into the turnbuckle and hit the Elijah Express for the win. Winners: Elijah Burke & Vladimir KozlovPost match, Hardy and Kozlov kept brawling on the outside. Kozlov got a chair but Hardy dropkicked it into his face. Security came down again this week and separated them, as even with the dropkick, Kozlov wasn’t staying down.Commercial Break. As we come back, Grisham & Striker introduce us to a video highlighting the rivalry between Finlay & Mark Henry. Steel Cage Match Finlay vs. Mark Henry w/ Tony AtlasFinlay and Henry went right after each other the whole match. This was head on a match about hatred. Henry started the match with the upper hand as he used his strength to dominate. Finlay began to make a comeback after a while. He threw Henry into the cage and made him bleed by grinding his head on the cage. Tony Atlas punched out the referee outside the cage when he saw Henry in trouble and got inside. He went started hitting Finlay. At that moment, Hornswoggle came from under the ring with the Shelaleigh and hit Atlas in the back of the leg. Henry grabbed the little man and picked him up for the World’s Strongest Slam but Finlay cracked him in the back with the Shelaleigh. Henry dropped Hornswoggle and stumbled forward. Finlay ran and hit him again in the back of the head and he went down. He covered him for the three count. Winner: FinlayFinlay and his son Hornswoggle celebrated outside the ring as ECW went off the air.© WWE 2009

Seemed like quite a good way to kick off ECW on Sci-Fi this week with Theodore Long and Tiffany coming out to adress some matters. The eight-man tournament to determine an ECW World Television Champion sounds pretty damn good, although don't you reckon that the WWE as a company has enough titles as it is? I mean ten titles in one company, hmm. Anyways, decent short triple threat match in the TV title tournament contenders match, Chavo Guerrero beating the two jobbers is fine, hope you keep Ricky Ortiz a distance away from any title here in ECW. I loved the six-man tag team match, that'd be one scorcher of a contest, the Second City Saints being in WWE and teaming with the returning Evan Bourne to win, well that's just awesome. I am not a fan whatsoever of Vladimir Koslov teaming with the talented, Elijah Burke. I feel this embarrassed ECW World Champion, Matt Hardy here. Great steel-cage match to cap off the rivalry Finlay and Mark Henri have going, seemed decent.

Man, Kev, I've been really bad on replying to this. I didn't even notice you have the SCS in there. Pretty cool teaming them with Bourne. I wish Burke would be in the TV Title Tournament, maybe he can face the winner after his feud with Tommy.

I'm really enjoying your writing style, but I don't know how much I like the font being used. It's pretty tough for me to read, personally. Bringing in the Second City Saints was a good move. Goldman was doing absolutely nothing on SmackDown!. I'd like to see Finlay win the ECW Championship somewhere down the line. That steel cage match victory should only boost his confidence. Great job so far, man.

-WWE is said to be unhappy with the in-ring work of both Vladimir Kozlov and Mike Knox. They've been told that they better step up their game in their current programs with Matt Hardy and Rey Mysterio, if they want to continue to get pushed. -Charlie Haas and Jamie Noble are most likely going to become an official tag team and recieve a push pretty quickly. WWE feels that the team will get a good reaction regardless because they will be accompanied by the lovely Kelly Kelly. -Expect CM Punk and William Regal to get a lot of time in their Royal Rumble match. The WWE is said to be really serious about establishing the midcard. Only time will tell if that's true. -Also, their is talk of the WWE Title match getting a lot of time at the Royal Rumble because WWE feels that Jeff Hardy and Shelton Benjamin can put on an excellent match. This is bascially a test to see if Shelton can handle the main event spotlight.
