someone please answer this. I really dont get why these pilots are getting such rediculous praise for what happened.
Now let me clarify that the pilots stayed brave in the situation and didnt let their minds stray with disasterous thought, and they were the reason everyone was safe, but for a reality check, they only did their job.
they landed the plane in a routine landing, only it happened to be on water instead of land. I mean, most of the guys who graduate pilot school can do that on their first day. Its what their trained to do.
but as I said, i understand what went down and respect them and they deserve recognition but some people (not just here, i havent even read all the coments here) act like it was mission impossible for them.
What the guy did was INCREDIBLE. Picture being into a flight 5 minutes and then all of a sudden realizing what's going on. The guy was thousands of feet in the air and had no where to land, but he had to land in the river. Imagine having THAT MUCH pressure against you and knowing you had 155 people to safely get out of a plane. How the pilot landed the plane perfectly so the passengers could safely was truly amazing. The guy is a historical figure now.
Couldn't have said it better myself,
are you that ignorant? Do you know what it takes to land a plane that size full of passengers in a river? Sure they train for that, but do you know if he didn't land it PERFECTLY the plane would have just sank like the titanic and everyone would most likely have drowned or froze.
So the praise hes getting is 100% deserved, end of story.
"but for a reality check, they only did their job.".....dumbest thing I have ever heard..
So say a fireman, if they save people from a burning building they shouldn't be praised cause "its their job."
