Swagger sucks and he shouldnt be the champion. I know their trying to turn ECW into the developmental show, but when they release guys like Burke and Thorn who had more credibility and talent than Swagger it makes you wonder. Then you have guys like Kizarny, Goldman, etc. who cant find a spot on SD!, but then in ECW you have recycled match each week, just doesnt make sense.

I get why he'd be pinned, but I agree on how could he be pinned in such a seemingly meaningless match.
It would have been fine if they met in a single's match, or even a tag match on ECW where the announcers would have made it an A.P.B. of how significant the loss is in the new champ's momentum.
It gets Matt back in the hunt, but it also bastardizes Swagger's swagger... since he's now lost, no matter how you spin it.

Either way it was a dumb decision. If he lost to matt in a singles match on ecw fine or if he lost by some kind of condition such as hit behind the refs back or something but to lose cleanly in a low key match on SD after his first major win, very wrong in my view.

well i think they were dumb to since he was undefeated winning streak and it ending in a tag match which sucks Honestly, I am kind of getting tired of the "undefeated streak" gimmick. I think it has been overdone in the past year or so. Kozlov, Swagger, etc. Seems like every month or so, there is a new undefeated sensation. I am okay with him losing in a tag match, because it can carry the feud on. Hardy can come at him and say it was a fluke, and Swagger is still the champ.

It surprised me as well - and even moreso, the commentators didn't mention it at all so I'm guessing they won't even count it as a defeat because it was a tag match. Stupid, stupid decision. Firstly, to have Swagger beaten in a meaningless tag match. And secondly, to do it simply because the fact it was a meaningless tag match means they can ignore it and pretend he still hasn't really been pinned.
What they should've done was have Hardy take out Swagger so that Henry took the pinfall.

Who really cares. This guy shouldn't have a title anyway. I can't stand listening to his lispy voice. Sounds like a total idiot. For once, I totally agree with you.. he does not deserve to hold a title yet, and he hasn't been that impressive anyway..

Ok... people need to realize a few things first... Chris Newth from PWTorch.com says it best:
Todd Grisham posed a question to Matt Hardy from the announce table regarding Jeff Hardy and the hit-and-run attack. Matt said that he wouldn't let that interfere with his performance against Swagger in the main event. He also said that Swagger has earned a title shot, but he hasn't beaten Matt Hardy. In the main event, Jack Swagger pulled out an upset victory over Matt Hardy to win the ECW Championship after delivering his gutwrench powerbomb. The purpose of Matt Hardy's backstage promo was twofold: 1) It posited the notion that there may be a possible mental distraction going on in Matt's head with the latest tumultuous turn in his brother's life, and 2) It allowed Matt Hardy to plug Jack Swagger as someone who truly deserves the opportunity he was about to get. By the end of the show, both of those elements really mattered as ECW's conclusion, while still surprising, culminated smoothly with the support of what Hardy had told Grisham earlier. Now Hardy has a slight excuse for not being at the very top of his game. If he had not mentioned Jeff Hardy's situation being distracting for him, many people probably wouldn't have kept that in mind simply because Matt hasn't been too publicly involved with Jeff's issues thus far.
At the same time, Jack Swagger needed some free promotion from a top-level guy, and who better to give him that recognition than the ECW Champion? The clean finish also helped Swagger tremendously. People who haven't noticed his meteoric rise on ECW will certainly be giving him a second look now, which was the whole point. WWE made a statement this week by putting one of their three world titles on a relatively new face. It's now up to Swagger to continue growing as a character both in and out of the ring.
Credit to PWTorch, it's a well-thought out, logical explanation IMO.

But why ruin all of that in a lousy tag match on ECW that meant nothing and would have been better going one of the other 3 ways than this one way involving swagger being pinned cleanly.

I think that it was pretty messed up Swagger was the one that took the pinfall. I mean he was undefeated and all, and even if it was a tag match, it still puts a dent on his undefeated streak.
