We've seen this discussed hundreds of times before as to why there isn't a figure of Savage. Everything from the rumors of him and Stephanie to lots of people saying Vince McMahon won't allow it.
I've said numerous times I don't think Vince has anything to do with this. Savage has been used on the website various times and he's appeared on a few DVD's as well. However I wanted to make this post because just now I noticed on WWEShop they are releasing a new "Best Of Saturday Night's Main Event".
Who is featured on the cover you ask? Well there's Cena, Michaels, Hogan, Junkyard Dog and none other than Savage himself.
There has to be some underlying problem here because they wouldn't put him on the cover if there was some type of problem with him and Vince.
Maybe it's just me but I fail to believe him not being in the classic series has a thing to do with McMahon. Anyone else agree that there has to be some other kind of problem as to why we haven’t got a figure?

Ok but why would he appear on the cover of a brand new dvd (and the t-shirt) plus other WWE media. If there really was a problem he wouldn't even be mentioned (ex. Benoit).

I remember the Savage DVD being scrapped but his matches are included in a lot of other DVD sets.
This is the first I've heard of that DVD and him being on the cover. If that's true, then maybe we're on our way to getting more Savage merchandise.

That point is invalid really. He would still make royalties off anything sold with his name or likeness.

Not to mention he also appears on some WWE Magazine articles every once in a while.

By the way here's the new DVD cover featuring him on the front.

While the WWE/Vince "ban" on Savage mentions and references has been softening over the last 6 months or so, it's still to early to get our hopes up.

Reprinting of the images and videos makes Savage nothing, but an action figure would. An a solo DVD would be giving Savage a spotlight and grandstatnd, him being part of the IC DVD is just including him in a set featuring many other superstars. Double J and Chyn were in that set as well and they arn't on good terms with the WWE either.

I don't completely disagree with you, whatever problem Vince has with Savage he needs to get over it. HOWEVER, if the rumors are true about Macho and Stephanie and that's the reason Vince will have nothing to do with Macho then I disagree, it's hard to imagine any father forgiving or getting over someone violating their daughter and it shows Vince has integrity and is willing to sacrifice making money to protect or stand up for his daughter.

I honestly think the reason there is no Macho Man in the CS line is because Jeremy is to in lazy to get the job done. He prob has not even been contacted.

Jakks has to have WWEs permission before ever contacting a superstar. WWE has denied them contact with Savage every time. It deals with WWE and Savage only!!
Savage will not make a dime from a DVD that has him in or on it unless its strictly about him. Think of how many people they would have to pay when they release an anthology set. WWE owns the rights to the footage.

Macho Man meant a lot to SNME but the character has little to do with the personal feelings. Vince will do what it takes to sell a product but with some tongue in cheek.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Savage owns the name. He used it outside of WWE everywhere he went. In legal terms if he owns the name he has to be paid whenever his name is used on a product which is sold.

If I had to guess, you probably couldnt own the rights to a name like Macho Man. Its so common in every day usage. It would be like Hogan trying to trademark the word Immortal.

I agree with you there, but I always have doubts with the stories like that. But that is one of the things that we will never know, because wheter or not it is true, the McMahons would never address it, whether to confirm or deny it. So we'll never really know why this isn't being done.
