WCW Superbrawl IX Sunday 21st February 1999 Live on Pay-Per-View! Oakland, California The WCW starship video airs, the new WCW logo appearing over the top of the outer-space background as it remains for about a minute, obviously getting connected to the Oakland Arena. A disclaimer airs before the WCW Superbrawl IX theme airs, featuring hype ups for tonight's show as the former WWF voice-over guy reminded us that decisions were a large part of society (mainly featured about Scott Hall and whether he'll go to nWo V2 or nWo Wolfpack, plus involvement of Eric Bischoff and David Flair's match from last Monday night on Nitro.
The theme plays again as the voice-over dude who came from the World Wrestling Federation introduced us to this event, the Superbrawl logo appearing. We go to the live arena where the audience are booming, very loud as pyrotechnics cover us from seeing the stage set-up for this event. The announcers, Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and Bobby Heenan appear at their announce table at ringside, hyping up the show for about two or three minutes, giving the audience a chance to recapture their energy.
WCW World Cruiserweight Championship Billy Kidman vs Jushin Thunder Liger The theme of Billy Kidman played as the audience got hot, suprisingly for the WCW World Cruiserweight Champion. Billy Kidman then appeared from the entrance-way in his vest and shorts, the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship wrapped around his waist. Kidman taunted a little, but not as much obviously motivated for his upcoming match against Jushin Thunder Liger.
The audience then pop as the New Japan Pro Wrestling theme of Jushin Thunder Liger plays, the crowd actually giving him a good reaction, maybe they were reminded of his previous WCW appearances. Anyways, Sonny Oono appeared before him before Jushin Liger appeared, walking down the aisle, shaking a few hands in the front row. He got on the top rope and jumped down, rolling forwards onto his feet.
The bell sounded as both men began to stare each other down. Liger and Kidman shook hands as both men locked up, Liger giving Kidman some nice kicks to the legs of Kidman, followed up with a roundhouse kick before taking him down with a sunset flip, Kidman rolling backwards onto his feet before nipping onto his feet and dropkicking Liger down. Liger then got up and both men did a stand-off. Liger then locked up with Kidman again, tripping him up with a legsweep, Kidman balancing Jushin in the air, both feet holding him up. Liger is then let back on to his feet as Kidman got up, leaped onto Jushin's shoulders but unfortunately got powerbombed to a loud reaction. He covered but only managed to get a near fall. Liger continued to torment Kidman with his kicks before Kidman nailed a snap suplex out of nowhere, literally. Kidman walked up to the turnbuckle, springing onto the second turnbuckle in hope of splashing onto Liger below but Jushin met him with a dropkick to the gut. Liger then decides to go up to the top rope for the Frog Splash. He gets onto the second rope before Kidman gets to his feet and bounces off the ropes, crotching Liger.
Kidman got up to the second turnbuckle as Liger struggled, Kidman hitting a nice superplex, sending Jushin onto the back of his head. Kidman covered but got a breath-taking near fall. Kidman went to apply some sort of arm submission, but Liger rolled forward, sending Kidman to the outside. Billy got to his feet again before Jushin Liger springed over the top rope with a suicide dive, Kidman catching him and being flattened by Liger in a crossbody position. Liger then hit an outstanding hurricanrana on Kidman, Liger taunting to the audience. Kidman was then helped up by Liger before shoving Jushin back. Liger came running back after Kidman but got spinebustered, rushing back into the ring. Liger was seen mainly recovering on the floor, Sonny Oono around the corner of the ring as Billy Kidman darted onto the top rope, hitting a superb springboard Shooting Star Press on Liger, Liger landed on his front.
The fatigued Kidman then picked up Jushin Liger with some difficulty, rolling him under the bottom ring rope. Kidman goes up top for the Shooting Star Press to finish the match but Liger cuts him off. Jushin joins Kidman up on the top rope and goes to get on Kidman's shoulders for the Frankensteiner or something. Kidman though, he nails Liger hard, reversing it with an awesome facebuster. Kidman then headed up top and nailed the Shooting Star Press for the victory. Winner and STILL, WCW World Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman (14:53)
Following the match, Billy Kidman celebrates though he finds it difficult to after that long match. Sonny Oono climbs into the ring, a grin on his face as he offers Kidman a handshake. Jushin Liger soon confronts Billy Kidman, the WCW World Cruiserweight Champion. Liger had the title belt in hand as he offers it to Kidman with both of his hands, Kidman shaking Jushin's hand and hugging him, both men leaving together as a replay shows.
We cut to the announce position once again as the announcers, Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan and Mike Tenay putting over how sportsmanship is extinct in today's world of wrestling as we will see later on tonight.
We see the promo from Sable on WCW Thunder, this past Thursday, announcing that nWo President, Eric Bischoff had allowed her into the three-way WCW World Womens Championship Tournament final, tonight on pay-per-view.
WCW World Womens Championship Mona vs Sable vs Angelina Conscience The theme of Sable plays into the arena as the audience begin to do something. Boo and cheer simultaneously. Really mixed reaction, but obviously due to the T&A factor, well. No wonder, to be honest. Sable came onto the screen with some sexy singlet on. Wow this was sweet, the announcers complained that it wasn't very professional and that it'd unfortunately put them off of the first ever WCW World Womens Championship match in WCW history.
Sable climbs into the ring, a grin on her face as Sable has a microphone noticably in her hand. She cuts a promo being very flirtacious to this capacity crowd before slyly acting all heelish. Sable guaranteed victory against these two ugly, unattractive bores.
The lights went out as some techno style theme played, the theme of Angelina Conscience. Conscience then began to wander out to the arena in black cargo pants and an nWo shirt (why is she still in nWo V2 anyways). Nothing special about her entrance except she didn't get a lot of reaction.
The theme of Mona then played as she came out to a nice pop, she was rushing down the long aisle, climbing into the ring and taunting to this capacity crowd as Sable attempted to go after her as Angelina was anxious to go after Sable, being broken apart by the official.
The bell sounded as Mona laid down Sable with a lariat, giving Conscience three or four forearm shots, a followup dropkick which was actually pretty good. Sable then returned to her feet as she hit a backdrop on Mona, delivering one or two back-hand chops to the chest of Conscience, Sable covering Mona for Angelina to break it up. Conscience hit a nice spinning headscissors sending Sable through the ropes to the outside. Mona then hit a running dropkick on Conscience to take down Angelina.
Mona then applied a good armbar, but Angelina rolled her up with a cradle but Sable came through the ropes with a forearm to the head of Mona. Sable placed Mona between her legs, attempting to set up a Sable Bomb but Mona flipped her over her head, sending Sable down to the canvas. Angelina Conscience was then seen on the top rope, and nailed a good diving legdrop, landing on Mona, slamming her to the floor with a splash. Sable delivered an awesome kick to the spine of Angelina, rolling up Conscience but for a near fall. Angelina got up afterwards, but Sable grabbed her, both women struggling. Sable screamed and fell to the canvas, covering her chest as her top seemed to be coming undone. The official handed her his shirt as Conscience looked confused. Mona came from behind with the top-rope senton, landing on Conscience and going for the cover but Sable got on, sporting a bra, hitting the Sable Bomb on Mona and pinned Conscience for the win! Winner and NEW WCW World Womens Champion: Sable
Sable celebrated as Mona looked shocked over what had just happened, Conscience still down on the canvas with Sable grabbing the WCW World Womens Championship (the old WWF Womens Championship with WCW all over it. She used it to shield her chest for moments but then walked over to Conscience and ripped off her nWo shirt, stripping her to her bra though still unconscious as she put on her nWo shirt, still celebrating with her newly won title belt.
We cut to a dark room where Raven was shown, wearing Sting makeup. Raven told us he was wearing this facepaint to tell us he wanted to be different tonight. He wanted to be somebody he wasn't. Like Sting. Raven described Sting as his brother, almost. He called him a former happy man, who used to be so colorful. But then he had to become and copy him by turning all emotionally unstable and mysterious. Raven says that tonight, Hardcore Hak will be placed out of his happy life and he'll have retribution for what Hak did to him as a child.
We view the hype up for the upcoming bout between Scott Steiner and Booker T, dating back to January when Booker T was on route to facing Steiner for his WCW World Television Championship but Buff Bagwell got in his way, but now Booker has contended and they will fight tonight at last.
WCW World Television Championship Scott Steiner vs Booker T The theme of Booker T began to play as the audience gave him a loud applause upon his entrance, the announcers putting over the history of these two men's feud. Booker does his 'raising the roof' taunt, Booker then climbing into the ring and awaiting the arrival of Scott Steiner on the turnbuckle. The announcers remind us that Booker hasn't wrestled in a week due to some sort of back injury suffered to Booker.
The sirens then went off as the crowd began to boo, the WCW World Television Champion, Scott Steiner making his way down the aisle, flexing his muscles and biceps. Buff Bagwell is then seen behind him, seemingly in great condition. Bagwell and Steiner walk down the aisle as the announcers complain about Buff being at ringside for this match. Steiner climbs into the ring as Buff motivates him from the apron. That's when the official tells Bagwell to return to the backstage area! Bagwell argued with the official as did Steiner before Rob Van Dam came rushing down the aisle and pulling him off of the apron, Bagwell holding his groin as they disappear up the aisle behind the curtain.
The bell sounds as Steiner shrugs, Booker and Scott beginning to start a lockup, Booker using all of his power to corner Scott in the corner, both mens arms in the air still in the lock up as the official gets in between them, seperating the two. Booker shoves Steiner into the corner and gives him a few hard hitting chops as the official warns him. Steiner then delivers a lariat, knocking Booker down, landing him with numerous punches and stomps, trying to regain momentum. Scott then dropped a knee on Booker, holding on a tough side-headlock as Booker struggled in the centre of the ring. Scott delivered a forearm to the back of his head, dropping the hold and applying pressure on the supposed-harmed spine of Booker, holding his knee right into the back. Steiner then made it worse, pulling on Booker's jaw, trying to pull Booker into early-retirement.
Steiner then dropped that hold and gave him a stomp or two as Scott argued with the official, demanding why he didn't count that time. Scott picked Booker up and gave him another forearm to the face, Steiner yelling to the camera that he will cripple Booker right here, right now. Scott delivered a simple scoop slam on Booker, following up with yet another knee drop. The crowd booed as Steiner taunted, telling them it's just a matter of time. Steiner dropped an elbow right into the spine of Booker as he grabbed Booker's left leg and slammed it back into the canvas, Scott picking Booker up and connecting with a backbreaker, holding him on his knee, choking Booker out with his hand at the same time. Scott released the hold at four, tossing Booker into the corner, spine-first.
Booker screamed in pain as Scott signalled for the Belly-To-Back Suplex and the finale, the Steiner-Recliner. Scott picked up Booker and applied the bearhug, his fingernails digging into the skin of Booker, then nailing him with the Belly-to-Back Suplex! The crowd booed as Steiner got up and cockily taunted before kicking Booker onto his back, covering Booker, hooking the leg but it was still a two count! Scott looked up in shock and covered again to yet another near-fall, Steiner choking Booker but releasing it several moments later. Scott then kicking Booker in the side, causing Booker to twist over onto his front, Steiner standing over Booker, his fists in the air as Scott picked up Booker on all fours, applying the Steiner-Recliner. Steiner yelled that this would be the end as Booker screamed in pain for a minute, before Booker found a burst of strength, picking Steiner up and sandwiching him between Booker's back and the turnbuckle. Booker gave Steiner a flapjack before passing out in pain.
The audience cheered Booker on as the official initiated the count to ten for the two combatants to get to their feet as Booker used the ropes, Steiner slowly following and Booker struck him with the Axe Kick! Booker fell on Steiner and covered but only got a very near fall. Booker slowly got to his feet, holding his back still as he dropped a double knee over Steiner's chest, attempting to retain his momentum. Booker picked up Steiner and hit him with an inverted atomic drop, Steiner not falling down however as Booker connected with a sidewalk slam, signalling to go to the top rope. Booker went up top for the Harlem Hangover but Steiner managed to get up and barely punch Booker in the jaw. Steiner got onto the middle turnbuckle and went for the Superplex but Booker slammed him face-first, reversing it. Booker climbed to the top rope and nailed the Harlem Hangover, covering Steiner but Scott got his foot on the ropes! Booker got to his feet and walked around the ring, waiting for Steiner in the opposite corner. Steiner gets up as Booker goes to knock him down with an Axe Kick but Steiner ducked, picking Booker on his shoulders, going to spin him around with a death valley driver but Booker twisted it into a DDT as the crowd cheered. Booker got to his feet and taunted to the crowd, heading to the top rope, but falling onto his feet, out of exhaustion. Booker went back to the top turnbuckle and came off with the Harlem Hangover! The official counted...One...Two...NO! The bell sounded, the time limit had expired! Winner as a result of a Draw and STILL WCW World Television Champion, Scott Steiner (15:00)
The theme of Scott Steiner plays again as the crowd boo, Booker looked shocked getting up and arguing with the official. Booker looks away from the official during the argument and knocked him out with the Axe Kick! Booker looked pissed as another official came out, Booker meeting him on the aisle and kicking him down as well. Booker repeatedly yelled 'damn it', heading to the back. Meanwhile, Scott Steiner was left laying on the canvas, the WCW World Television Championship over his waist.
We return to Raven's room of madness as he continues to yammer on about how tonight, Hardcore Hak will regret the things he did to him in high school. And that tonight he would make Hak feel his pain.
The video package for Hardcore Hak vs Raven aired, their Falls Count Anywhere match being up next.
Falls Count Anywhere Hardcore Hak vs Raven An instrumental WCW style remix of 'Enter Sandman' played as Hardcore Hak began to enter through the crowd to a decent pop, he had a beer in his hand as he came from out of the fire exit on the lower tier of the arena, bashing the can against his head from the balcony before climbing down daringly. Hak greeted fans as he came through an aisle in the audience, jumping over the barricade and climbing into the ring where there was already several weapons lying around.
The instrumental theme of 'Come As You Are' played loudly into the arena signalling the arrival of Raven. He came out from the backstage area with Sting facepaint on, wheeling a trolley of funhouse weapons to the ring, Raven taunting along the way as the audience booed him.
He was cut off guard however as Hak sprung over the top rope and hit a diving crossbody onto Raven, right over the trolley as well. Hak picked a kendo stick from the trolley and clubbed Raven in the chest with it, Raven backing up the aisle as Hak cut his forehead open slightly with the kendo stick, Hak then rushing at Raven, Raven reversing with the drop toe hold, sending Hak into the floor. Raven got up and returned to his trolley, pulling out a stop sign and bashing Hak in the head with it, Raven then dragging Hak's carcuss down the aisle nearer to the ring as he went looking under the ring for more toys. There, Raven pulled out a table, pulling the leg off of it and tackling Hak to the floor, sinisterly choking him with the leg. Raven laughed as he slapped Hak and took off the other leg, tossing it into Hak's gut. Raven then picked up the table and set it up diaganolly over the ring steps. Hak mounted a comeback here, however as he slammed the kendo stick into his spine. Raven screeched in pain as Hak slammed Raven into the table, not breaking it though. Hak picked up Raven on his shoulders and did a U-turn, taunting with Raven and planning to plant him head-first into the table but he reversed, Raven sliding out of it and shoving Hak into the table, still not breaking it. Raven rolled Hak into the ring under the bottom rope as the match really officially began. Raven climbed into the ring and nailed the Evenflow DDT on Hak but just simply laughed, refusing to go for the cover. Raven left the ring and then picked up a 2x4 from the trolley, returning to the ring and smashing it into bits over the back of Hak's head. Raven then picked up Hak in a headlock position and landed him with a running bulldog, Raven laughing in Hak's face as he began to choke away at him again. Raven grabbed the table from the outside of the ring and dragged it into the ring, leaving the ring once again and grabbing two chairs, tossing them into the ring as well as a second table.
Raven then rolled into the ring and was met with a kendo stick shot out of nowhere. Raven rushed into the corner, telling Hak to wait as he removed his shirt and shorts, telling Hak to hit him like there's no tomorrow whilst in his underwear. Hak gave Raven another shot to the head, sending him to the floor as he covered for a near fall. Raven screamed at this, telling Hak to beat him endlessly. Hak whipped Raven with the stick all over his body, Raven screaming yet laughing creepily. The facepaint of Raven now running off of his face due to the sweat. Raven then grabbed the kendo stick from Hak and got up, kicking Hak in the gut and delivering another Evenflow DDT! Raven set up for the pin, hooking the leg but releasing it on his own terms at the count of two. Raven set up the table with the legs on and then slammed a steel chair into Hak's skull. Raven then placed both chairs on top of this table and placed the table with no legs on top of that.
Raven picked up Hak's lifeless body and placed him on top of both tables. Raven climbed up to the top rope and taunted, setting up for a splash through them but the lights went out. The crowd cheered loudly as the theme of Sting was heard, Sting then being seen, floating down from the rafters and knocking Raven off of the top rope, Hak moving as Raven fell through both tables. Sting looked on with no facial expression as Hak covered, one, two and three! Winner, Hardcore Hak (09:52)
The theme of Hardcore Hak played as he placed his hands in the air, rolling out of the ring, away from Sting who remained over Raven's unconscious body, Hak taking his beer and leaving through the audience as Sting remained with no facial expression. Raven opened his eyes and stared at Sting as the lights went out, Sting being gone upon them returning. Raven slowly got up, screaming Sting's name.
We cut to Gene Okerlund, in the locker room of nWo V2 as Eric Bischoff was on his cell-phone, bragging about the end of Ric Flair's career tonight against Randy Savage. Okerlund went to see Randy Savage who cut a small promo about Flair having an illustrious career that will be ended tonight. Savage vowed to put Ric out of his misery. Okerlund told us he'd get words from Bret Hart, nWo Wolfpack and the New Jersey Triad later on.
WCW World Tag Team Championship Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis vs The New Jersey Triad The theme of Juventud Guerrera played as he came out and spat some water into the air, Psychosis also joining him, both men rushing down the aisle in preparation for the upcoming contest. They climbed into the ring, both jumping onto seperate turnbuckles, taunting and awaitig the arrival of their opponents. The theme of Diamond Dallas Page hit as the WCW World Tag Team Champions, Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow made their way down the aisle, taunting to quite a loud, negative reaction from the audience. Both men acted cocky as they walked down the aisle, climbing onto the apron.
That's when the challengers, the luchadores reacted, Juventud Guerrera connecting with a dropkick to the gut of Kanyon, sending him down as Psychosis attempted to take Bigelow out with a dropkick of his own, but it didn't work well. Both challengers, Juvi and Psychosis then hit the duo dropkick, sending Bam Bam down to the floor. Juvi and Psychosis taunted as the audience boomed, Juventud hitting a springboard corkscrew moonsault onto both members of the Triad, only sending Kanyon down however. Psychosis then went to hit an Asai Moonsault but Bigelow caught him precariously and dropped him, jaw-first into the apron. Bigelow gave Psychosis a shot to the temple as he rolled him into the ring, triggering the bell. Bigelow joined him as Psychosis attempted to dropkick Bigelow, only for Bam Bam to spin him off, lbocking it with his hands. Bigelow gave Psychosis an elbow to the jaw before shoving him into the corner and delivering a dozen or so body shots to the chest and gut of Psychosis.
Juventud Guerrera and Kanyon, meanwhile had began to get to their own corners, Juvi clapping on Psychosis as the audience followed, Kanyon placing his hand out for the tag. Bigelow tagged in Kanyon as the smaller yet just-as-violent, Kanyon climbed into the ring and took down Psychosis with a lariat. Kanyon decided to do more however as he picked up Psychosis and raked his eyes into the top rope, picking up Psychosis slightly and dropping him over the top turnbuckle. Kanyon followed up then with the scoop slam, dropping a fist drop into the forehead of Psychosis, then applying a headlock, trying to put the challenger to sleep. The crowd cheered him on as the official began the final three-count, giving Psychosis three seconds to revive and he managed to do so just barely before the three. Psychosis fought out of it and ran him right into the ropes, hitting an impressive hurricanrana, collapsing to the canvas and attempting to reach out for Juventud Guerrera. The tag was finally made at the count of eight as Juvi rushed into the ring and ducked Kanyon's attempt at a lariat, dropkicking him in the knee before hitting a running hurricanrana, Kanyon heading to the Triad's corner, Bam Bam Bigelow getting the tag. Bigelow climbed into the ring as Juventud gave Bam Bam a kick to the leg, followed with a kick to the other leg, hitting a roundhouse kick before running right into the lariat from Bigelow. Kanyon rushed in to help Bigelow as Psychosis came into the ring with a springboard splash, sending Kanyon to the outside, Psychosis joining him out there. Meanwhile, Bigelow nailed the Nightmare From Asbury Park for the win, Psychosis being held back by Kanyon!
Winners and STILL WCW World Tag Team Champions, The New Jersey Triad (8:04)
The theme of the New Jersey Triad played again as Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon began to celebrate, the official handing them their WCW World Tag Team Championship belts, Bigelowscreaming into the camera that they will take out any tag teams in competition to their titles, here in WCW.
We return to Gene Okerlund as he is in front of the nWo Wolfpack locker room, saying he will try to get a word with them momentarily, hyping up the card still. Okerlund walks into the locker room as Konnan and Rey Mysterio Jr are standing around, talking about Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon but Okerlund merely wishes them luck if they choose to go after them before seeing Kevin Nash. Okerlund asks Nash if he's concerned about which way Scott Hall will go. Nash just tells Okerlund that he knows Scott will make the right decision tonight when he battles Bret Hart.
An advertisement for WCW Uncensored is aired, it is live on pay-per-view on Sunday 14th March, where every match has a stipulation!
We see Daffney Darling acting as a backstage interviewer as she says she will get the scoop with Chris Jericho, moments away from his match against Chris Benoit. Jericho cuts a promo on WCW, bragging that when he beats Benoit, he will begin his route to famousness in WCW, saying that people like Benoit have been holding him back for too long and it ends tonight, in Oakland.
Grudge Match Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho The theme of Chris Jericho began to play as he strutted his stuff out to the arena, acting as confident as ever, despite being moments away from stepping in the ring with one serious wrestler in Chris Benoit. Jericho climbs into the ring and poses for the audience.
Then, a new theme plays for Chris Benoit, other than his early 90s video game level theme. Benoit walks down the aisle pretty quickly, obviously still pissed and focused on taking down Jericho. Benoit rolled into the ring and Jericho dived right on him, delivering many of shots to the body of Benoit, wanting to put him down, unfortunately though it doesn't last as Benoit shoves him off, spearing Jericho down and applying the armbar, Jericho rolling through for a near fall. Benoit then gave Jericho a chop, Jericho rolling out of the ring to get away from Benoit. Benoit however catches him and delivers some more chops, wanting to destroy Jericho after what he'd done before. Benoit then applied the Crossface right out on the aisle, Jericho tapping repeatedly but nothing could be done. Eventually, the official counts both men out, to a negative reaction from the crowd. Double Count-Out (04:27)
Chris Benoit refused to let go of the Crippler Crossface however as the official couldn't manage to pull Benoit away from Jericho, Jericho just screaming for anybody to get Benoit off of him. Ralphus appeared on the aisle but just simply smiled and shook his head as Jericho asked for help, Ralphus returning to the back. Benoit eventually let go of the hold, but then he picked up a chair and slammed it into Jericho's head harshly, the Crippler heading to the back. This feud is not over.
We see Gene Okerlund standing by with Diamond Dallas Page as Okerlund asks DDP what he feels about the next match against British Bulldog for his WCW US Heavyweight Championship. DDP tells Okerlund that Bulldog will feel the 'bang' and the nWo V2 will take home another title.
WCW US Heavyweight Championship British Bulldog vs Diamond Dallas Page The theme of Diamond Dallas Page played loudly into the arena as the audience booed him upon existence from upon the backstage area. He did get some cheers however, probably due to being a big-time player in WCW. DDP did his pyrotechnics with the 'self high five' taunt, walking down the aisle, signalling that tonight he would win the WCW US Heavyweight Championship once again.
'O Brittania' played into the arena as the crowd began to pop, the United States Heavyweight Champion, British Bulldog appearing on the aisle, walking down to the ring, wearing the Union Jack flag as a jacket, shaking fans hands in the front row before entering the ring to enter a staredown with challenger, Diamond Dallas Page.
The two began to stare each other down, both men trying to use intimidation as a method to weaken their opponent but neither men would back down. Bulldog then locked up with DDP but Page got out of it and gave Bulldog numerous shots to the chest before connecting with a lariat, causing the audience to boo as DDP did the self-high-five taunt yet again. Page began to stomp away at Bulldog, kicking him in the gut from the corner, then standing on the middle turnbuckle and landing numerous punches down on the champion, Bulldog. DDP then got down and whipped Bulldog into the opposite corner, when Page went to run at him with a lariat, Bulldog moved, Page hit the turnbuckle and Bulldog nailed the challenger with a dropkick, sending him to the floor! DDP left the ring for a breather, but Bulldog didn't want to waste any time, chasing Page around ringside, but when Page rolled into the ring and Bulldog followed, Page showered him with many more pucnehs to the spine and upper body of the champion.
Page continued to give Bulldog punches as Bulldog was worked on, Page snapmaring Bulldog over, then kicking Bulldog in the spine and doing his Self high-five once more. DDP kicked Bulldog in the arm at that point, twisting it and then slamming his elbow into that arm. Page used his shoulder at that point, as a weapon, slamming Bulldog's arm into his shoulder. Page gave Bulldog a lariat, the crowd booing once again. Page kicked Bulldog in the gut before he gave Page a mini-shove, Page going after Bulldog again, setting up for a powerbomb or a piledriver but Bulldog shoved him away again, Page came back but got nailed with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex! The crowd popped as Bulldog struggled to his feet, holding on to his injured arm, Bulldog then picked up Page and scoop slammed him, taunting to the crowd for an early Running Powerslam finish, only for Page give Bulldog's arm haymaker, grabbing a hold of Bulldog's arm and twisting it over the top ring rope, the official telling him to break it up for five as he did. Page snickered at Bulldog as he stomped away at his arm, then picking up Page and planting him with a backbreaker. DDP gave Bulldog a lariat to the back of the head as it looked like he landed improperly.
DDP gave Bulldog a shot to the arm again before applying the armbar, pulling on the champion's arm but luckily, Bulldog actually rolled through and got DDP off of him. Bulldog kicked DDP in the chest and got up, mounting a comeback with many punches as DDP kicked Bulldog in the gut and went for the Diamond Cutter to a LOT of boos, but Bulldog overpowered him and picked DDP up, slamming him with the Running Powerslam! And there it was, the final three count! Winner and STILL WCW US Heavyweight Champion, British Bulldog (11:46)
'O Britannia' played again as the crowd began to pop loudly as the British Bulldog celebrated slowly, still harmed by his arm injury during the match. The official gave him the WCW US Heavyweight Championship as Bulldog climbed onto the turnbuckle to celebrate with the title high above his head.
We cut to the locker room of the nWo V2 as Gene Okerlund was prepared to talk to Bret Hart. Hart came out and said that tonight, he will go out there and do what he does best to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. With no screwjobs, no deranking and saying that tonight, nWo V2 will proudly take over.
DING. DING. DING. Michael Buffer is stood in the ring.
Buffer: Ladies and gentlemen, we are now moments away for yet another battle in the saga between the good and the bad here in World Championship Wrestling. For one man's career could be ended for an eternity, if their shoulders are down for a three count. Tonight, a member of the WCW roster's pride and many achievements will be buried forever as tonight, it is time for the Retirement Match!
The theme of Randy Savage played as he came rushing down the aisle, mingling insanely with the many of fans in the front row.
Buffer: And first, tonight, he weighs in at a two-hundred and fifty-three pounds and he heils from the 'Place Where he can Express his Macho Madness', introducing the former multi-time World Heavyweight Champion and one of the bigger icons in professional wrestling of yesterday, heeeeeeeere's Raaaaaaaaandy 'Macho Man' Savvaaaaaggee!
Randy Savage then took a hold of Michael Buffer's microphone, yelling that this will be Ric Flair's curtain call. That's when the theme of Ric Flair played, causing the arena to literally erupt.
Buffer: And next, it is my honor to introduce you to, one of the most legendary men in World Championship Wrestling history and a former thirteen time, Heavyweight Champion of the Wooooorld, he heils from Charlotte, in North Carolina, and weighs in at a two-hundred and forty-three pounds, he is the Naaaaaatuure Booooooooooy...Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiic Flaiiiiiiiiiir!

Retirement Match Randy Savage vs Ric Flair The bell sounded as Michael Buffer left the ring. Randy Savage and Ric Flair stared each other down, the audience the loudest they've been all night long. Both men finally locked up after a minute of waiting, Flair being pushed back slightly, but Macho Madness also being taken to the limit. Flair cornered Savage and delivered three, four or five knife-edge chops to the crazy man from the nWo V2. Savage screamed as Flair gave Savage another shot, another one, just wanting to take down Savage as he did with a lariat! Flair wooed with adrenaline rushing through his veins as he strutted around the ring. Savage and Flair locked up again but this time, it was Savage with the offense as he gave Flair two, no three, no four shots as the crowd showed their disapproval, vocally. Savage continued to pound at Flair, he kicked Flair in the gut and shoved him into the corner, Savage just didn't want to waste any time in this match.
Savage gave Flair a hard elbow, before taunting and kicking Flair in the gut, pissing off the many in attendance by giving Flair some of his own medicine, the knife-edged chops, delivering them and showering Flair with around twenty of them, just wanting to make Flair's chest go red. Savage nailed Flair with an impressive dropkick, Flair fired back with a neckbreaker, a retaliating move that just so happened to slow Savage's style down momentarily. Savage got back to his feet as Flair gave him some more punches, kicking the Macho Madness in the head whilst he was doubled over before stepping on his foot. Classic Flair striking Savage to no limit. Flair just kept pounding away at Savage before ducking a Macho lariat and taking down Flair's leg with a ruthless chop block. Flair wooed once again as he dropped an elbow across the knee of Savage. Flair desperate to try and set up for the Figure-Four Leglock to gain revenge for all Savage had done to him, ending his son's career and causing his son to lose respect for Flair, last Monday on WCW Nitro, as well as costing him the power of being WCW President back at WCW Souled Out. It all lead to this point.
Flair had Savage up for the Figure-Four Leglock, but Savage rolled backwards, causing Flair to fall on his head outside on the floor. Savage quickly got to his feet and jumped onto the top rope, diving off of the top with his vintage double axe-handle, slamming Flair throat-first into the barrier! Flair fell to the canvas, choking as Savage taunted still, Savage happy with the malicious thing he just pulled. Savage dragged Flair's injured body and rolled him into the ring, where he jumped onto the top rope for his final Elbow Drop but Flair kicked him in the jaw! Flair began to fight back, Flair taking down Savage and setting up for the Figure-Four Leglock! But then, Bischoff rushed into the ring and distracted the official. Flair released the hold and grabbed Bischoff by his first but BAM. Savage clocked him with a lead pipe he had stored in his glove! Flair collapsed to the canvas as Bischoff fleed. Savage hooked the leg. One...Two...Three! Winner, Randy Savage (10:08)
Randy Savage celebrated as Eric Bischoff climbed back into the ring and jumped onto Savage, hugging him in celebration as the two laughed and celebrated like there was no tomorrow over Ric Flair's body! They headed to the back as Ric Flair sat up, silently. His eyes began to fill up with tears as he stood up and rolled out of the ring, walking up the aisle and looking back, taking a last look at the loving loyal audience before leaving for the backstage area.
A video package for Bret Hart vs Kevin Nash played.
WCW World Heavyweight Championship Kevin Nash vs Bret Hart The theme of Bret "Hitman" Hart played as he began to walk out to the arena to loud boos. He confidently walked down the aisle in his pink and black tights-and-singlet combinaton, his leather jacket already over the top as he walked down the aisle alone. Eric Bischoff then walked down the aisle but Bret Hart told him to return to the backstage area as Hart continued to walk down the aisle way, climbing into the ring without the assistance of the ring steps.
The theme of Scott Hall then played as he came down the aisle, a blank look on his face, his toothpick always in his mouth as he wore all black, though it was unknown whose side he was on for tonight's match. Hall was seated at the commentary position as the announcers tried to get out of him whose side he would go to after tonight's contest.
The theme of the nWo Wolfpack then played as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Kevin Nash walked down the aisle to a thunderous ovation, holding the WCW World Heavyweight Championship strap in his hand, dressed in all red, simply walking down the aisle. Flames sparked for him as he held up the title as well as making the nWo signal with his fingers. Nash climbed into the ring as him and Bret Hart got into a staredown. The bell sounded as the official took the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, Bret Hart making the first blow, a shot to the chest of Nash, followed up with many more, kicking Nash in the shin, Hart wanting to knock down Nash one way. Nash simply responded by giving Hart a headbutt before shoving him into the ropes but Hart came back at him, ducking Nash's big boot and continuing his tirade on Nash, many abdomen shots as Hart even tried winding Nash with punches to the gut. Nash though, fought back with an elbow to the skull of Hart, giving Hart some forearms, sending Hart out of the ring, through the middle rope. Hart landed on his feet however as Bret stood with his hands on his hips, Nash eventually deciding to go after the Hitman. Hitman didn't run from the gigantic champion, however, Hart gave him a knee to the shin, before shoving him backwards, slamming Nash head-first into the ring steps. Hart found his target there, as Hart went right after the ankle, stomping away at Nash's foot and dropping an elbow on it. Nash screamed as Hart twisted his knee, Hart then trying to pick up Nash and drag him under the ropes into the ring, though instead he slammed him head-first into the post.
Hart then rolled him under the ropes, striking him with an elbow across the neck of Nash as his head hung off of the end of the ring apron. Hart then rubbed his forearm into Nash's face, climbing into the ring to partake in doing more damage. Hart grabbed a hold of Nash's leg before connecting with a legdrop, actually applying the Indian Deathlock, a hold that nobody had ever seen Hart apply. Nash screamed even louder as the crowd began to boo and grow ruthless at the nWo V2 member. Hall, meanwhile remained neutral as the announcers attempted to sway him into helping Nash. Hart eventually released the hold as he grabbed Nash's leg and applied an STF, another hold Hart hadn't really used before, but like the Indian Deathlock, he let it go after seeing Nash not really tap out to anything. Bret then made the biggest mistake in Oakland tonight, as he got Nash in a Piledriver position, setting up for a deadly Piledriver but Nash tossed him over his head and Nash set up for the Jackknife Powerbomb! Nash connected with it but that's when Diamond Dallas Page rushed down the aisle. Page got in the official's face, right there in the ring before British Bulldog made the save, taking down Page with a lariat. The New Jersey Triad, Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon then attempted to outnumber Bulldog as Bigelow gave him a few shots to the temple before Kanyon nailed the Flatliner right onto the floor! Rey Mysterio Jr and Konnan rushed down the aisle, next, Konnan and Rey causing Bigelow to get dizzy, Konnan shoving him over.
Carnage had broken loose in Oakland as Scott Hall took off his headset and walked towards the ring, grabbing a leadpipe from ringside as Hart and Nash were in a test of strength in the center of the ring. Hall climbed into the ring and walked in between them as Hart and Nash looked shocked. Hall grinned to Kevin Nash and went to clock Hart but he turned around and NAILED NASH! The crowd booed as Hall slammed his leadpipe into Nash's foot, leaving the ring unbeknownst of Hall's prescense (he was stuck with the ringside carnage) and Hart applied the Sharpshooter! Eric Bischoff got in the ring and Nash had passed out! Game over! Winner and NEW WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Bret Hart (17:35)
Bret Hart refused to release the hold as Konnan, British Bulldog and Rey Mysterio Jr were all down and out at ringside as Eric Bischoff, Diamond Dallas Page, Kanyon, Bam Bam Bigelow and Scott Hall celebrated in the ring, Bischoff and the Triad screaming down at the unconscious Nash's neck that the game was over! WCW Superbrawl IX went off the air with Hart still with the Sharpshooter on Kevin Nash and Scott Hall with the victorious nWo V2!
