I agree that it jumped the shark once they found the guy under the hatch.

I agree that it jumped the shark once they found the guy under the hatch. How though? The Polar Bears, Smoke monsters, Others, Locke recovering from being paralyzed was okay, but someone living in a testing hatch was too much?

I've never seen lost (But i will buy the series boxsets soon) I've always thought to myself "How can they keep it fresh and watchable?" And juding by the comments, some of you think it's lost (No pun intended) it's spark.

"OH LOST IS JUST TOO SCI-FI/UNREALISTIC THESE DAYS" Yeah, because it wasn't sci-fi/unrealistic when a paralysed man was running away from a cloud of black smoke, right? HURRRR

Then why post here? Your opinion of the show had nothing to do with the original posters question

that was the first episode. I don't think you know what jumped the shark means. No I do, hence the point of my comment. Jumping the shark refers to such crazy things such as Polar Bears in the jungle, smoke monsters killing people and other crazy things that make people wonder "What the is going on" No, jumping the shark is when the show breaks its own layer of believability. Like ER jumping the shark when the helicopter killed Romano a year to the day after a helicopter took his arm, or for no apparent reason, Fonzie has to proove how cool he is by literally jumping a shark. As Lost had not established its world yet, it couldn't have possibly jumped the shark in its first episode.

LOST slightly jumped the shark in season three, but then John Locke threw a knife in it's back and it became the most amazing show on tv, ever.

One of the best shows on TV. People who don't like it probably just don't get it.

To be fair, the time travel aspect has always been a part of Lost. Whether the show has actually jumped the shark or not is up for debate. The problem is that Lost has always teetered on the brink of becoming too ridiculous.
I still enjoy it. I just want to see where it is all going.
