I am now returning to what I am best at, a Cornelleverse Diary. However now with an added twist!
British Championship Wrestling: The year is 1997 and the wrestling world is getting ready for a change. This is the year where wrestling’s future is decided. Who will win the East Coast War in America, can SWF stay the top promotion in the world, will BHOTWG be pushed off the top of Japan, and will MOSC continue to dominate the United Kingdom as the only promotion?
The world is currently awaiting a change in styles. Wrestling has been the same old thing for years now forcing many people to be getting tired of it. With this new era comes new opportunity. That is where BCW comes in. In the United Kingdom Men of Steel Combat has been the top and only promotion for years. Every time someone tries stepping up they get crushed by the competition. With this new era one promotion is going to try and change it all. British Championship Wrestling was the idea of a couple of former British wrestlers who have all remained anonymous to the community. One guy by the name of Morris Wright was one the best technicians in the UK before moving to Japan. Wright retired in 1993 and became a business man earning himself quite a bit of money. Thanks to all this earning he has decided to invest in BCW.
Wright has hired a good mate of his, who we only know his last name to be Jones, as his right hand man and the head booker of the company. Jones apparently has limited experience but he has tons of ideas and Wright has full faith in him to help get BCW to the top. Currently in the first stages of development but Wright is hoping sometime in February, possibly March at the latest BCW will be up and running and begin getting ready to knock MOSC off the top!
Jason Star: Born on June 17th 1977 was none other than Jason Star, real name Jason Jones. Jason was born at Southlands Hospital, Shoreham by Sea, England and lived in Brighton and Hove. Jason has been a fan of wrestling since he was a young age and attended a local event. When he got a bit older Jason instantly went to work on trying to be a wrestler despite everybody saying it was a waste of time. In school Star did horribly especially since he was hardly there. He showed up on rare occasions and hardly learnt a thing. In the end he only got one GCSE in Physical Education thanks to all he learnt from trying to become a wrestler.
Star couldn’t get a job anywhere and so he had to rely on some small crimes and selling of anything he could get his hands on. During this time Star began giving up on his dream to become a wrestler and figured the rest of his life would be him selling things on street corners. After earning a bit of money however Star was handed a flier about a wrestling school up north. Star traveled up north to join the school where the now retired Morris Wright had begun as a trainer. Wright saw a lot of potential in Star but he had to work on his attitude as he would arrive late and be a bit cocky of his abilities. Star trained with Wright for quite a few years learning everything he could and graduated in 1996. Star got a couple of bookings at local small events but nothing major. He tried joining a new promotion that was opened in May of 96 but it went bankrupt in less than six months. Star moved back to Brighton and began working on the street again to earn a living. Star was pretty much homeless, jobless and owed people a bunch of money. Life seemed to be over for him until the day he got that phone call!

January, 1997
Jason Star was out doing a bit of business one day when his mobile phone began ringing. He looked at who was calling and it was none other than Morris Wright his old trainer. Star thought he must have damaged some equipment while he was up North. Star let it ring a bit before finally answering. Star quickly apologized and said he didn’t mean to break anything and he would pay him back next time his up North. Wright calmed him down saying he didn’t break anything and he is actually calling about some work. Star replies saying he hasn’t heard of any wrestling trainers needed down South. Wright said that it wasn’t work for him but for Jason.
Wright explains to him how he will be moving down south this week to start up his new wrestling promotion and he would like to offer Star a job. Star thought it must be some joke nobody wanted to start a promotion with MOSC still on top. Wright told him it was no problem MOSC won’t know what hit them and they will be the ones with problems. Wright told him to think it over and come meet him over the weekend when he comes down and they can talk about it in more detail. Star agreed and said he would see him then and hung up. Star wasn’t too sure whether to get his hopes up since he had seen this all before and MOSC would always make sure they were ended as quickly as possible. Star was exited to get a job but was hoping Wright knew what he was doing; nobody messes with MOSC and gets away with it!
Well that weekend just like he was asked he went and met Morris Wright at a local gym. Wright asked how Star had been doing since he had left his school and star basically said his done nothing. Wright said all that was going to change. He said he and a few other veteran wrestlers had come up with the idea of British Championship Wrestling and they were opening it next month. Wright had said he had been in contact with a few other wrestlers to join but he wanted star there as well. Star said he didn’t know whether or not they could get anywhere with MOSC about but his in.
Wright & star talked over money and everything and agreed to a Pay Per Appearance contract until the end of the year. Star liked the offer and accepted it by shaking Wright by the hand. Wright then said he expects to have the promotion all sorted by the end of January with the first show coming at the end of February so he should start hitting the gym and be ready. Star said he would start getting ready right now and began working on a nearby exercise machine. Now all that was left for Wright is to find the rest of his roster!

February 3rd, 1997Blog #1: The Beginning
Well for my 1 or 2 fans I have decided to start up this blog where I will write down anything that comes to mind I guess. This is my first entry in hopefully many. Not sure what exactly to do since I am still new to this but I am sure it will become more interesting later.
Anyway I have just returned from a meeting with Morris Wright and the rest of the BCW roster. I must say the rest of the lads look quite nice and I look forward to working with them. I only really talked to a few of them while I was there, UK Dragon & Welsh Dragon, who are actually brothers surprisingly, were quite social. They seem to be the better of our roster and will be the ones leading BCW to the top. I tried talking to The Silence but he seemed to ignore me and everyone else and stayed in the corner by himself. He was talking Japanese with Yosuke Narita so maybe he just can’t understand English. Leon Harrison & Jon Rose were the other two I spoke to and although they were funny guys they also seemed a bit different than the rest of us. They liked to touch everyone a lot and kept whispering to each other and then laughing hysterically. I tried to meet JD Morgan as I had seen some of his work from the US on YouTube but he seemed to stay away from some of us younger guys and only really talked to British Samurai and Morris Wright.
In the end of the little gathering Wright told us about our first event on the 19th, British Uprising. I must say we all got quite excited but Wright told us he didn’t have the match card official yet so we would have to wait until next week to find out our opponents. I am not too bothered with my opponent I should be able to have a good match with most of them. Tom Gilmore might be a good opponent his from Canada and apparently is quite good even though his only 18 and could be a big star in the future. Maybe a win over him now could show off some potential in me being a big star.
Not much to write about right now but Wright has scheduled another meeting next Wednesday on the 10th. So that’s the end of Blog #1 stay tuned for more and thanks for reading and following me on my journey to the top! Jason Star

This looks promising. I'm not too fond of TEW wrestlers, but I suppose i'll mark for Leon Harrison; he's got a sexy name. I'm be reading this for sure. Mhm, good luck on your first show.

February 10th, 1997Blog #2: 1st Card
Well I just got back from another meeting. I met a couple more of the roster. Walter Morgan was a nice guy and seemed to be one of the guys willing to do anything to make the other man look good in the ring. Stevie Stoat was very full of himself and didn’t seem to care about anyone else in the room. He wanted to get the chat over with so he could find out his match. Then I met British Samurai who like UK & Welsh Dragon was a nice guy and will definitely lead BCW to the top. He said he was looking forward to seeing me in the ring which I guess must be a good sign.
Then it was Morris Wright’s time to talk about the matches for British Uprising. Wright put me in a Triple Threat match against Captain Hero & the Silence. I tried talking to them both about the details of the match which was quite hard since Silence wouldn’t speak to us meaning Yosuke Narita had to come over and help us. Captain Hero was quite laid back and just inputted basic things. After a while we got a few details laid down ready for next week. Wright then told us that his currently working out the details for an event next month in March and that both the Pure & UK Title would be on the line. I guess it would be a bit much to get my hopes up on winning the Pure Title?
After the meeting concluded I saw Jon Rose & Leon Harrison. Leon & Jon told me to come get a drink with them and Tony Mahr so I headed out with them. On the way out a guy by the name of Chris Hammers bumped into me and told me to **** off. I was about to go after him and start something but Jon just told me he was angry that he wasn’t hired by BCW, oh well he wouldn’t make it anyway. I agreed and went off to an interesting club that for some reason had loads of guys and hardly any girls. Tony came out of the toilet sweating and rushed out of the building without having a drink, I wonder what scared him.
Look for me to post another blog next week after British Uprising. I hope to see many of you there, remember it’s at the Paddington Club next Friday at 7:00pm See you there! Jason Star

Haha, the two blogs were funny, nice cameo there by Chris Hammers. I did laugh that you were taken to a gay bar and that you had no idea what was going on. Looking forward to seeing where you take this. Your Convers diaries are always underated and never get the replies they deserve but hopefully this one will.

British Uprising begins with Morris Wright comes out to the ring. The crowd is quite full with just less than 200 people in attendance. Wright thanks everyone for coming and says that he promises to give the fans a new alternative to the usual Scottish crap. Today is the very first start on BCWs rise to the top and he hopes the fans will join them on this journey!
Single Match – Tony Mahr vs. Tom Gilmore This was a quick average match. Gilmore did really well and has a lot of potential. Tony was more basic and didn’t show a lot off. Early on Tony had the upperhand and beat down on Gilmore. Later in the match Gilmore suddenly got angry and went crazy on Tony. Tony tried hitting him with a bunch of shots but Tom stopped all of them and just beat down on Tony. Tony was almost able to fight back but failed as Gilmore stood beside Tony and delivered a Forward Russian Legsweep he calls Anger Management, 1…2…3! Tom Gilmore def. Tony Mahr by pinfall with Anger Management
Tag Team Match – Leon Harrison & Jon Rose vs. Kayin Puro & Pigeon Mask This match didn’t turn out well. Leon & Jon did really and had great chemistry as a tag team, however Kayin & Pigeon Mask didn’t do so well and the fans turned on the match halfway through. In the end of the match Jon made the tag to Leon who came running in and took down Kayin Puro before then hitting Pigeon Mask off the apron. Leon beat down on Kayin for a moment until Pigeon Mask came in and hit him from behind. This made Jon Rose come running and clothesline Pigeon Mask over the top rope. Kayin was able to fight back no and take advantage. Leon seemed finished as Puro got him to his feet and picked him up for a Powerbomb. Suddenly Leon rolled forward off his shoulders and rolled Kayin Puro up in a pin, 1…2…3! Leon & Jon def. Kayin Puro & Pigeon Mask by pinfall with a rollup
Triple Threat Match – Captain Hero vs. Jason Star vs. The Silence This was an alright match and much better improvement over the last match. All three men did really well. All three men got in a good amount of offense with Hero using his power to take down the other two. In the end of the match Silence & Jason star double teamed Hero and tossed him to the outside leaving just the two of them. Silence got the upperhand and wanted to finish the match with his finisher the Silencer, Somersault Senton Splash, but Captain Hero returned to the apron. The Silence hit a dropkick knocking Hero off and almost landing in the seats at the front row. The Silence turned around only to be lifted up onto the shoulders of Jason Star. Silence tried fighting it with elbows to the face but it was no use as Star hit the move, 1…2…3! Jason star def. Hero & Silence by pinfall with a J-5 on Silence
Single Match – Stevie Stoat vs. Walter Morgan This was another alright match. Morgan and Stoat worked quite well together. Stoat really got the fans pissed off at him with his cocky attitude. He even tried wrestling in his sunglasses but Morgan wasn’t having that as he fought back and ended up crushing the sunglasses by stomping on them. Morgan tried working on Stoats leg so he could lock in the Figure Four Leg Lock but Stoat tried his best to avoid it. Finally in the end Morgan attacked Stoats leg by kicking it in. Stoat seemed in serious pain as Morgan went for the Figure Four however the referee stopped it because he felt Stoat was too injured to continue. Stoat was screaming in pain and Morgan didn’t believe it at all as he shoved the referee out of the way and tried locking it in again. However it seems Stoat was playing possum as he quickly grabbed Morgan and rolled him up, 1…2…No. Morgan rolls through and now Stoats shoulders are down, 1…2…3! Walter Morgan def. Stevie Stoat by pinfall
Single Match – Louis Figo Manico vs. Rolling Johnny Stones This was a good match, match of the night. Louis Figo and Johnny Stones put on a good technical match that went back and forth. Both men did well and the fans loved it. In the end of the match Louis seemed in full control as the fans got behind him. Johnny Stones was slowly getting to his feet as Louis ran at him trying to hit a Big Boot. Unfortunately Johnny Stones ducked under it before hitting a nice dropkick to take the “Pain from Spain” down. Louis was down so Johnny went up on the turnbuckle. He was about to leap off when Louis got to his feet and stopped him. He gave him a few shots before pulling him off the turnbuckle. Louis then puts his head between his legs and pulls back both his arms as he delivers a Double Underhook Bomb he calls the Madrid Mauler, 1…2…3! Louis Figo Manico def. Johnny Stones by pinfall with the Madrid Maul
Single Match – Leo Price vs. Yosuke Narita This was another average match but shorter than some of the others. Yosuke was really quick as he ran around the ring; Leo Price could hardly keep up. Finally Leo got him and kept him grounded with stiff shots. Yosuke tried fighting back but Leo wouldn’t let him up as he kept him down rest holds. In the end of the match Yosuke finally broke free from Leo Price and began fighting back. Leo Price couldn’t keep up with him again as Price got knocked down. Yosuke then climbed up top and went to hit a Senton Bomb he calls the Thunder Shock. Yosuke came crashing down but Leo Price had rolled out of the way as Yosuke hit the mat hard. Leo Price waited as Yosuke stood up before delivering a Superkick straight to the face of Yosuke Narita, 1…2…3! Leo Price def. Yosuke Narita by pinfall with a Superkick
Tag Team Match – UK Dragon & Welsh Dragon vs. British Samurai & JD Morgan This was a good match. All four men did well. Morgan & Samurai basically beat down on Welsh Dragon for most of the match. Every time he got near UK Dragon to tag Samurai or Morgan would be there to stop him and drag him back into their corner. Morgan and Samurai double teamed which on most occasions caused UK Dragon to come in which distracted the referee long enough for Morgan & Samurai to do more damage to welsh Dragon. In the end of the match Welsh Dragon fought back and tagged in UK Dragon who ran in and cleaned house with hurricaranas and dropkicks knocking the other two down. UK Dragon hit Morgan a few times before locking in an Inverted Sleeper. UK was about to drive Morgan into the mat with the Dragon Drop when Samurai came in and kicked UK Dragon right in the head. UK Dragon rolled into his corner where Welsh Dragon tagged in. Welsh Dragon came running in and tried to take control of the match but Samurai came back in. Lucky for Welsh Dragon, UK Dragon was back to his feet and ran in and hit Samurai through the ropes. UK Dragon then leaped over the top rope and landed on top of Samurai taking him out. In the ring Welsh Dragon and the referee looked out to make sure they were ok when suddenly JD Morgan came over and smacked Welsh Dragon in the ribs with some Brass Knuckles. Morgan quickly threw them away so the referee never saw a thing. Morgan then locked in the Cross Atlantic Stretch forcing Welsh Dragon to Tap Out! Samurai & Morgan def. UK & Welsh Dragon by submission with the Cross Atlantic Stretch on Welsh Dragon
After the match JD Morgan and British Samurai stood face to face in the middle of the ring while Morris Wright brought out the BCW United Kingdom Championship. Wright stood in between Samurai & Morgan and held up the UK Title putting an end to British Uprising!

February 20th, 1997Blog #3: British Uprising - Aftermath
What a night. I am currently sitting on the sofa half asleep. I am so tired after last night. The whole show was great and we got almost 200 fans which is amazing. I hope you all enjoyed my match, I thought me, Captain Hero & Silence all did really well. It was a good win for me and I can’t wait until the next show.
Also I finally met JD Morgan and he gave me some advice before my match which I thank him for. I really enjoy his work so it was good to see him wrestle live and I can’t wait to see more of his work. It was a great night and the atmosphere in the club and backstage was great, the fans were really into it and backstage all of us were pumped up and excited.
After a successful night I must say BCW may really have a chance to change the UK. It definitely has potential to knock MOSC off the top. Wright told us after the show that our next event is currently scheduled for next month around the 10th but it isn’t official yet so don’t quote me on that. Apparently the UK & Pure Titles will be on the line so it will be interesting to see who challenges for what belt. Anyway I am knackered so I am going back to sleep, I shall give another update in a week or so whenever something interesting happens. Thanks again for the support last night and I hope you all enjoyed it! Jason Star

Good show man. I must admit I hate 1st person diaries but it's OK for now. Would be cool to see you going for a title or something, it would make the entries seem more exciting, rather then "I spoke to..." etc. (not a personal knock).
By the way - always good to see a British diary on the board heh

February 28th, 1997Blog #4: Some News
Just got back from the gym where I got good and bad news. The bad news is Yosuke Narita has just been taken to hospital in Mexico. He was wrestling at a Mexican Premier Wrestling Federation event and landed badly on his head and broke his neck. The doctors dont know how bad the injury is and how long he will be out for but I hope Yosuke has a speedy recovery.
However the show must go on and that's where the good news comes in. Morris Wright has just told us about our next events which will be called BCW Night of Gold and BCW Ultimate Combat. Night of Gold will be held on Friday, 19th March and the UK & Pure Titles will both be on the line. Ultimate Combat will be held sometime in April however an official date has not been confirmed.
Also Morris Wright has been in contract with another Japanese Wrestler called Yoshimi Mushashibo who is considering doing a few dates here in the UK. I have seen some of his work so I look forward to working with him in the future. Anyway I have an appointment with a doctor next week for a quick check up, hopefully I am all healthy although my leg has been playing up a bit lately. Ill be sure to tell you all my condition when i return! Jason Star
