Forrest Griffin is expected to return to the UFC in August at UFC 101 to rematch Keith Jardine. For those of you who don’t remember, Jardine defeated Griffin back in Dec. 2007 at UFC 66.
MMAFrenzy.com reported that Griffin was likely to square off with the loser of UFC 96’s headliner between light heavyweight contenders Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Keith Jardine.
Griffin is coming off of successful surgery earlier this year to repair a broken hand suffered in his light-heavyweight title defense loss to Rashad Evans in December at UFC 92. Meanwhile, Jardine suffered a hard fought unanimous decision loss to Quinton Jackson this past weekend at UFC 96.
UFC 101 is tentatively scheduled to take place in Portland, Oregon but the UFC hasn’t confirmed any details about the event yet. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Randy Couture is the only other fight that has been discussed so far for UFC 101.

A perfect fight that needs to happen. I hope Jardine takes it again. I'm sick of him being stuck in an awkward position having beat Vera, Liddell, and Griffin...and he has yet to get a title shot. So hopefully a decisive win will get him one step closer to getting one..or at least a shot at Machida. Because that is really the fight I want to see Jardine vs. Machida..two awkward styles.
then I would want Forrest to finally go against Liddell.

Interesting fight for sure. I'd put my money on Jardine, because Jardine's beat him before, and the Jackson camp seems to have him figured out. But I'm not counting Forrest out.
A Jardine/Machida would have been a little more interesting and would have solidified the next number one contender. But it seems that in order to fight Evans, you have to fight Jardine first.
I would've had Forrest fight the winner of Liddell/Shogun.

Great fight, needs to happen.
Griffin needs to avenge this lose to stay at the top of the pack, meanwhile Jardine needs this win to stay relevant in the stacked lightheavyweight division.
My money's on Jardine. Keith looked awesome against Rampage, losing a close descision in the last 10 seconds. And that was against Rampage at his best, not the same guy Forrest fought. And Greg Jackson seems to have Forrest figured out, well Greg Jackson seems to have almost everyone figured out.
Should be a great fight.

Forrest looked great against Rashad, he ing handled him for two and a half rounds. Then he got popped with a god damn superman punch and was pounded out. One mistake, dude.

I reckon Jardine will win again but I think Griffin will be alot better than his last fight with Jardine.
I just hope Griffin wont cry again like his last fight with Jardine if he loses

Rampage himself said that he just couldn't keep Jardine down. And how often do we see Rampage hitting takedowns in the octagon? I was at UFC 96, so I got to hear what people were saying. Every single person in my seating area, was just crapting on Jardine. Everything he did. When Rampage was covering up against the fence it was "Oh lucky punch!", "Rampage isn't focusing!", "Rampage looks horrible"...but then when Jardine's in trouble, "RAMPAGE LOOKS AWESOME! SLAM HIM!", "Rampage looks like a completely different fighter man, his time at the wolfslair really helped". Of course it can't be because Jardine is doing well, it had to be because Rampage wasn't at his best. I hate that, we'll hear the same crap if kenflo beats penn.

I hate that as well..but to be fair to Rampage they said the same thing when he KTFO Wanderlei...it was "Oh well Wandy isn't the same anymore"...of course it couldn't be because Rampage is actually getting some decent training as opposed to his pride days.. but I thought Rampage would KO Jardine in the first..Everyone knocks Jardine down in the first round.. Houston did, Vera did, Wanderlei did, and Chuck did...I felt Rampage has the best killer instinct out of those fighters...so needless to say I am very impressed with Jardine. I actually have become a fan of his after this fight.

Not too excited about this fight. Not sure who I would put Griffin in a fight with next, but not Jardine.

Jardine randomly beats top-tier talent... It's very hard to predict his fights.

I think Forrest will win it. He wasnt focused for Evans. He is refocused and ready to go now. exactly what a Griffen lover would say lol...cause he under prepared for that fight ? he couldnt focus against the top contender ?? come on...he lost...he was focused..he was rocking it the first bit of the fight, got caught and got his ass beat down.
